Weathers meant to be ok tomorrow just a bit overcast, I might be struggling for tomorrow now going to have to play it by ear but fingers crossed I can make it.
-
No problem hope it helps people, I was surprised that one shock could cause so much knocking and clonking and without taking the shock off all I noticed was a very small oil leak. Hope others get their knocking sorted to.
-
Thanks I'm glad it's sorted too and I can start enjoying my zed again.
-
I paid £6000 for my 53 plate uk GT with 44k in November if that gives you any help.
-
Just to let you guys know I've sorted my knocking / clonking out thanks to the zed shed guys turned out it was the passenger side shock was completely shot and basically had no rebound so it wasn't soaking up any bumps plus it also seems to have sorted out the odd creak from the back too, the drop links were fairly badly worn so changing them wasn't a waste but changing both rear shocks has sorted the problem completely.
-
I should be up for that on Easter Monday
-
Massive thanks to Chris and Bob for sorting my clonking suspension out a first class service yet again and the drive home was clonkless (if that's a word), my zed is now a joy to drive again.
-
I do get the odd creak from the back but dunno if that's just plastics or whether it's related to the suspension. I would describe my noise more like a clonk like heavy metal hitting together sometimes just a single clonk other times two or three clonks i guess that depends what i drive over, when I go over any pot holes or rough road it feels like the wheel wobbles or something is very loose but when i had the drop links done yesterday the mechanic said it was all ok.
-
Join the club, I just replacement mine and still have a clonk sound every time I go over pot holes on the rear passenger side. I have noticed a very small leak from the shock so that's next on my list.
-
Yeah pretty sure, I guy who changed the drop links said they were fairly badly worn so I was hoping that was the problem. He checed the bushes and the wheel for play and said it was ok.
-
Is there anyway to test the rear shocks, I guessing a new rear shock would cost a few quid and you should replace as pairs unless anyone has a second one?
-
Hi all, I'm after some help with a loud knocking / clonk noise coming from the passenger side rear when I go over pot holes / rough road. I have just had my rear drop links replaced as they were worn but the clonk still remains, it only seems to be on passenger rear. Has anyone got any ideas what else it could be, I was told the bushes look ok? Thanks
-
Hi rocky, did the bushes get rid of the knocking?
-
Pm sent Humpy ref exhaust.
-
Cheers guys overall they are sounding good I agree they are not going to set any lap records but for general run of the mill tyre at £400 for four I can't see you can go wrong.
-
I have hankooks on the front of my rays at the moment and seem very good but again are about £160 ish for the rears which is ok if you are only buying one or two but when buying four that's a couple of hundred difference or half the money forwards a cobra exhaust lol. I believe the mpss are one of the best tyres for the zed but at £800 + compared to £400 for four tyres that's a big difference and for normal road driver would you really notice the difference?
-
Well that's my insurance sorted for another year and I'm very happy with the price. I went through Admiral which was £235 for the year and that was also declaring a full bodykit and alloy wheels. I'm 34 with 12 years no claims.
-
I was going to get the toyo tr-1's a couple of weeks back as they were £108 for the rears but unfortunatley now when I have the money they have gone back up to around the £155 mark.
You can buy falken 453 for a little more, would they be any better? Thanks
-
Without starting another tyre war topic has anyone used kumho 's on a zed? I need some 275/35/19 rears and 245/35/19 for front and on tyre leader they are only £106 and £95 all in they get good reviews good wet, fuel and noise ratings. I only do 3k ish a year and mainly Sunday drives, car meets etc and at that price compared to Michelin £200 + they seem very good value. Thanks andy
