  1. Can anyone recommend a good garage in Sheffield for getting a clutch changed?

I've ordered everything I need from Ewen at Clark Motorsport and now just need someone reputable to fit it along with a few other bits. I don't mind travelling a few miles if its to someone that knows there way around a Zed.

Let me know if you know anyone.

    Cheers

  2. I got a new Bosch battery last year from eurocarparts.com for about £60. Got delivered next day and has something like a 3-5year warranty with it.

You can enter your reg to make sure you get the right one.

  3. Does it feel like there's a notch in between 5th and 6th?

I had this issue when I first bought my Zed and re-aligning the gearshift plate sorted it for me.

There's a post somewhere on how to do it. Maybe worth a try as its easy to do if you have a socket set.

  4. Hi Traders,

I need a number of parts which I have been putting off buying and fitting for a while as i'm a tight Yorkshireman ;) but they really need doing now. I also need a little advice on a few things I have never bought or had changed before on my previous cars.

If any of you can advise, recommend and supply any of the following parts please drop me a PM.

    1) Clutch and Flywheel Kit (with all parts needed for fitting etc) -

This is something I have never had changed before but I have been reading up on this a bit of late.

The Zed is my daily and only used on the road for short distances (usually 10-20miles a day, no real traffic) with occasional regular spirited driving ;)

I want to keep the clutch feel as close to standard as possible but if I can upgrade it slightly without having to kangaroo around everywhere I am happy to go down that route. I was thinking about moving to SMF as I like the idea of revs moving more freely as long as the chatter is negligible and isn't going to sound like i'm driving a tractor. If I need anything else in terms of bearings, bushes, fitting tools etc then please let me know.

Budget = around £800 but I can stretch a little if need be.

    2) Clutch Cylinder (I think) -

My clutch pedal squeaks and goes a little sticky on long journeys. Not sure if this is just the clutch on its way out or if the master or slave cylinder is failing as I have read elsewhere. Hoping someone can advise if this could be the case and if one/both of them will need changing. If so, I may as well get this changed at the same time as the clutch to save needing to do it later at extra cost.

If needed, how much am I looking at?

    3) Gearbox Mount -

My gear stick vibrates quite a bit when idle and driving in certain gears at certain revs etc. I know all cars probably do this slightly but this is very noticeable, even to passengers. Gear change is also a bit notchy and not that precise at times. I tried genuine nissan oil and molyslip which has helped but hasn't eradicated the issue.

I've read a few people have changed one of the mounts that holds the gearbox with one from Torque Solutions and this has made a big difference. So I thought I may give this a try as well while the gearbox is off for the clutch change as long as it ain't too pricey. Doesn't have to be the same make as long as the quality is good and it does the same job.

Let me know if you think this will help and what the price is for these.

    4) Rear Anti-Roll Bar Links (I think) -

I was advised on my last MOT that both that 'nearside and offside rear anti-roll bar have slight play in ball joint'. I assume this means that the anti-roll bar links need changing? If so, please let me know the cost on these as I will probably need them changing before the next MOT in September.

    5) Brake Discs, Pads and Braided Brake Lines All Round (Brembo calipers) -

I'm going to be looking to change my brakes all round in a few months ready for the next MOT as they are about due a change.

As I said earlier, its my daily for road use only so i'm open to recommendations on what people usually go for etc. I like the look of grooved and drilled discs but it is probably not necessary for normal road use. A slight upgrade from standard would be nice but I don't want anything that will give me whiplash every time I touch the brakes.

    Budget = around £600-£800

    I think thats about it....for now ;)

If anyone can do me a bundle deal on all/some of the above it would be appreciated. Top 3 are my main priority right now.

Lastly, if any of you are located fairly close to Sheffield or have any links with someone in or around Sheffield that know their way around a Zed and could give me a quote on fitting the top 3 items, it would be appreciated

    Cheers

  5. Finally going to change my Datsun badges.

Wanting new front and rear black Z badges for my 350z coupe.

Would prefer to support a seller or trader on this forum than buy off ebay. Drop me a PM with prices if anyone has them in stock.

    Cheers

  6. Received and installed this reader today and I can confirm it works fine :teeth:

Thanks for the link ilogikal1

This was the one I got for anyone else that is interested in buying one in future:

  7. I'm using this one. Only used it with Torque Pro so far and it's been fine (on all three of my phones, the current one being the S5), I've been meaning to try NDS but haven't got round to it yet.

Thanks mate. I will give this one a go.....fingers crossed :)

  8. Are the wifi adapters not just for Iphones? I'm using Samsung Galaxy S5 and Nexus 7 using android Lollipop and the bluetooth does seem to work ok.

I may install a tablet in the little cubby and I want it to work with Torque so I can see dials when driving etc. It doesn't matter how big the adapter is as I have it running off a Y lead with my throttle controller out of the way so it wont dig in my shins.

I've read that even some of the larger black ones with the blue/orange labels don't always work either. If you can find the seller or link to the item in your history and send me the link it would be appreciated

  9. Anyone recently bought an OBD2 reader that actually works with with a UK 350z (DE)?

I have bought a small white one (v1.5) I saw someone on here had bought and said worked a while ago but it wont work for me with Torque Pro or NDSII app. The bluetooth connects but it says it cannot read ECU. I have tried a number of the settings in Torque to try get it working but no joy so far. I'm guessing it has a missing protocol or something

If anyone can send me a link to a working reader they have bought recently it would be appreciated.

    Cheers

  10. I had the same issue a few months ago on both keys, so feared the worst. I ordered 2 new batteries and then they both worked fine.

These are the one's I got:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/DURACELL-Lithium-Batteries-CR2016-ECR2016/dp/B002VR6PRM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1430770358&sr=8-2&keywords=duracell+2016

To replace them you just unscrew the little screw on the back of the fob and the replace it. I didn't have to re-sync it after either :)

  11. Just want to say thanks for the quick delivery and for producing and supplying this great plenum spacer. Looks nice and shiny in my bay and was easy to install with the instructions you provided. I have just finished fitting and have been out for a quick spin and it has made a noticeable difference to my Zed :teeth:

For anyone that doesn't already have a plenum spacer, I would definitely recommend you contact Ian and get one ordered.

Thanks again and keep up the good work
