  1. Thanks for that. But how easy is it to fit yourself.

Looking at it Im not sure where to start. How does the part of the dash come off? How does the head unit come out, I remember using these prongs that went in the front and you pulled it out. (this was in 1987 with an Fiesta XR2)

I bellive I have all the bits, but its just getting started. I have rang a couple of mobile Audio guys but waiting for their call backs.

    Any ideas?

  2. I have bought a aftermarket head unit, (Sony) bought the correct kit from incartech. But now as I have a factory fitted sat-nav they are refusing to fit it saying that the sat-nav its connected to the original bose system. Is this true?? Im no sparkie, this is the reason why I was going to pay someone to do it.

  3. Yes I know I have left a message to see if he can put some photos on, but not heard anything yet. Thanks for the offer of the K1, sorry but not for me. Paul

  4. HI there, Im looking for a S/S exhaust anything considered. Cobra, Scorpion or other. Need full system so need y pipes as well ideally. Must be in good condition. Cheers Paul

  5. Ok I have now come round to the fact that I will have to change the head unit. All I want to change is the head unit. I want to use the existing wiring and speakers (Bose). If I use the right connection kit/Head Unit will I still get the same or better sound??

Getting confused as there seems alot of conflicting reports.

  6.

I seem to have the issue with the lack of sound coming out of the r/h speakers, only when the cd player is on. First is this repairable? I do quite like the system if I could get both sets of speakers to work. If this is a non starter as I suspect, what's the best way to take out the current unit? I have the factory sat nav fitted which might make this harder?

    Thanks guys

  7. Cheers, I was at work and forgot to take the caps off. Will have a look at the links thanks. But I have just had a shock, the engine management light has come on. No change in power or how the engine runs?? Will get it checked Wed/thurs anything that I should be aware of?? Do sensor play up on these?

  8. OK I MIGHT HAVE TO LIVE WITH IT. BUT WHAT ABOUT A HEAD UNIT GOT ABOUT £200 TO SPEND. JUST WANT SOMETHING THAT SOUNDS REALLY GOOD RATHER THAN HAV BITS AND BOBS THAT I WONT USE. SUGGESTIONS PLEASE.

  9. I have a similar issue, my Bose works only with the radio on, when I put in a CD only the right speakers work. Im been trying to look at a head unit, but Im totally lost. I want to retain the steering wheel controls.

But I know Jack when it comes to car stero's. All I really need is a good quality unit that sounds great, rather than a load of features that I won't use, God I sound old!! Looking to spend about £200 on a unit, that seem fair?

Is it a difficult job to fit these modern units?? How much would I expect to pay for this to be done?

    Thanks

    Paul

  10. The car has done about 66k miles can't find anything on the service history to say thats it been changed. If the high clutch bite point is a common issue then I will have to see how it goes. Im not sure what to do about the stereo though, I will try the thump first.

  11. I have just bought my first 350z. A 54 plate GT Spec model. After driving it for a few days to get used to it and find out any issues that might crop up. I have a few questions. First the clutch pedal seems to bite pretty high and the pedal seems quite stiff/springy, clutch on the way out I hear you cry! But I can't get it to slip and it shows no other sign of it being on the way out. The second issue is the Bose stereo when playing the radio all is well and it sounds great, but as soon as I put a cd in it, only the speakers on the drivers side work?? If anyone has any ideas what I could do please let me know. Cheers Paul

  12. Thanks for the replies guys

All I can say is that, it has the leather, brembo brakes and the bose stereo, would this make it a UK car. I tried to copy it over but, couldn't. Its on Autotraders web sit for £6199 in Blade silver. I have agreed a price verbally.

    Cheers

  13. HI People

Im still on the hunt for a 350z, I have come accross a nice looking 54 plate in Blade Silver with only 66k miles on it.

The question I have is this, it has a full factory sat-nav fitted. A friend of mine who has previosly owned a Z, thinks it an import? He reckons that the early UK cars didn't come with the full sat-nav, even as factory extra.

Can anyone shed a bit of light on this, is there a way of telling other than the V5. Some other Jap imports have square front number plates, is this true about the Z's?

    Cheers

  14. An example would be, on Auto Trader a 54 plate GT Spec with 105k miles but full service history (Trader not private), good general condition (wheels a bit scuffed but body work good. For £4995. But alas its now sold :(

I have just sold one of my MX5's and Im after a GT spec 53 or 54 plate for roughly the same money. Any tips would be good guys.

  15. HI Guys & Gals

Im looking for an early 350z (on a budget), looking forward to getting one soon. The prices are a bit confusing though. Both Traders & Private, cars in same condition/mileage but about the same money. What should I expect to pay for a 53/54 plate UK car. Does the mileage matter much??

Do you guys have meet in East Anglia??

    Cheers

    Paul
