  1. I think you just get used to power no matter what. When I first got the Z, it felt rapid............for about 3 days

Some people say a super charger isn't enough and go turbo. Its hard to replicate that initial impression when you're forced back into your seat. After a few drives you know what to expect and it just becomes the norm.

As for having the speed limiter removed, I've never hit anywhere near 155 as it is and unless i was going on a drive to Germany, I don't think i ever will.

  2. Now I've fitted my spacers, I'm happy with the front but the rear still looks a bit high, can i swap the rear springs to just lower the rear? I cant lower the front because my spoiler will rip off on the speed bumps but im ok with how it is now, its just the rear i don like.

  3. Hold up leet88 - when you first got broadband, you studied creation etc...?

You know the internet has porn.... Lots and lots of porn....

    Just saying.

It still has porn btw.... Lots and lots of porn.

I tend to only spend a minute or two on the porn sites so I had time to kill

  4. I'm not religious but I did believe in God till I was about 25, I'm 33 now. My parents weren't religious but I came to the obvious conclusion (like so many before me) that there must be a God, we can't answer how life started or how the Universe began so it must have been created by something.

When I was 24, I got broadband and my knowledge on the subject grew. At first, I would only watch creationism videos for confirmation bias. They would talk about how 'Evolution was just a theory' and how the world was only 7000-10000 years old. Other things that spring to mind is the argument of 'irreversible complexity' from proponents of intelligent design. At first it strengthened my faith (apart from the world being 7000 years old  ) but the more I learn't about the scientific method, the true definition of theories and facts, the more cracks appeared in all the arguments for there being any evidence of a God or creator. The main lesson I learn't was that just because science can't answer certain great questions yet, there's no need to evoke fairytales or magical thinking.

If you look at the big picture. Humans have been around for hundreds of thousands of years and have always worshiped god(s) from all cultures. The same way they would look at the sun revolving around the earth is the same way they would see the world with all it's wonders could have only been made by a God. This way of thinking comes natural to us without knowledge. Only it recent human history have people really suggested otherwise, even then the common man was rarely a atheist, it was the privileged who had time to think and ponder about the natural world whilst the rest of us lived hard lives, died young and only had time to think about our next meal. Now most of us have the internet at home with all of human knowledge to go with it. We all now have the privilege to learn and think, eventually more and more people will become Atheist or believe in a deistic god. People will still go to war for resources but the world will be better with less pseudoscience and charlatans.

Some of my favorite sources for learning about science/reality have been Richard Dawkins, Carl Sagan and the 'Skeptics guide to the Universe' Podcast

  5. Imo the worst kind of driver is the one that does 40mph in a national limit then they continue to do 40mph when it turns to a 30 zone. I see it all the time when driving in rural areas.

How did I forget the 'I drive at my comfortable pace no matter what the speed limit says' drivers! It's usually the same person who was just doing 35 in a 40 now it switches to 30 and they carry on at 35 oblivious to the speed limit, probably chatting to the passenger or on the mobile.

Even when you overtake safely because someone is not doing the limit, sometimes they flash you like you're doing something dangerous probably because they get a bit shocked by an exhaust sound and never check their mirrors.

I know it sounds like I'm venting (I am  ), it's the accumulation of these idiots that have made driving less and less pleasurable over my 16 years on the roads. I just think that if it is really about making the roads a safer place, the same boot that went up The Seasiders butt for doing 35 in a 30, 20 yards before the national speed limit sign, should be dealt to someone doing 33 in 40 with no good reason whilst holding up 10 other cars or someone who can't drive over a Island without stopping first, making 6 other cars brake for no reason. The roads would be safer and congestion would improve.

 Rant over now. In everyday life, I just accept it like I accept the weather

  6. So I drilled a hole in the seatbelt slot of the clip to make it a but wider, then twisted the buckle round the right way. There was still a twist the bottom half of the belt....I think it must have been designed to have a twist in it  ....so I unbolted the bottom and turned it round and bolted it back in (the wrong way) but it's very secure and wont go anywhere, just not as flush due to shape of the clip but I covered with the rubber cover.

At least there's no twists now. Just a normal seatbelt like other cars

  7. There is no way I can twist the belt inside the thin slot of the buckle. It's only wide enough for the belt, no room to twist.

I could drill a small hole in the end of the slot and twist it in this. I think I may do so, do you think a tiny hole at the end of the slot will effect it's strength?

  8. 30-35 in a 40 is not slow and there's no reason to punish people for that.

I disagree with that point. I often see or get stuck behind someone doing 30 in a 40 zone in good, clear driving conditions with a line of cars up it's arse. They are either oblivious to the que behind them or just don't care. People start to overtake them after a while and this is where the person doing below the speed limit in good driving conditions becomes a potentially deadly hazard (regardless of their intention).

Driving in general carries a inherent risk of injury due to the fact we are made of flesh and bones, and dart around in metal boxes. Speed limits are essential for both safety and the everyday reality that everyone needs to get somewhere in a hurry, even if you don't. The law should work both ways to not only punish speeders but also the people not competent enough to drive near the speed limit and with excessive hesitation.

All the congestion caused by idiots doing stuff like just going above 30 in a 40 in good driving conditions, braking at islands when it's clear and not pulling off when the lights change effect everyone one of us, drivers or not. Just imagine how much nicer it would be without so much congestion, this could happen if the law used the same foot to boot incompetent drivers up the arse as speeders, everyone and even the economy would benefit.

  9. When I first got the car I noticed a rattle come from the back after a few drives. Further inspection revealed the heatshield had worn through the bolts that hold it on so it was just sitting on top of the catback rattling around. I brought some compression springs and wedged them in to hold it in it's original position, however after a while the springs fall out and I'm back to square one.

ow much exhaust do I need remove to fix tis? Does it need to come all the way off or can I just remove the rubbers and lean it out the way? Also, can I do this on axle stands or would it better to get a garage to do it?

  10. There always seems to be a twist in my seatbelt, i tried removing the bolt at the bottom and untwisting it but it seems to be on backwards because I cant reattach it and remove the twist. The passenger side seems to be the same.

Is this a 'feature' of the Z?

  11. I have dimpled and grooved discs with yellow stuff pads on my brembos. Standard hoses. They were recently fitted before I brought the car. The brakes are great, stops at any speed in no time and feels solid. Big improvement over the RX8 brakes and they weren't bad.
