  1. What has been seen cannot be unseen!!! Nuke it from orbit, it's the only way to be sure
  2. Thanks all, am feeling much better about life after a session with some elbow grease and a little spit and polish.... As suggested above a lot of the black crud came out with a bit of work and the paintwork is in pretty good nick. Just the number plate and mount to sort now!
  3. The other car was covered in dirt / soot / cr*p so that's a lot of what the black stuff is. I really need to give it a clean down this evening to get a closer look! Mods - I'm sorry I just realised this went up in the 370z forum where I'd meant to post in 350z, can it be moved please?
  4. Haha yeah I think I was kidding myself when I said it wasn't too bad. I can't even look at it without wincing! I'm taking it as a given now that I'll be fixed through my insurer. My excess isn't massive at least which makes me feel a tiny bit better. Anyone any ideas on who'd be worth giving a shout on this?
  5. Hope this has worked! Photo of the damage Hmmmm doesn't seem to be posting, let me have a play.....
  6. Can't seem to get them off my phone onto my work computer, I'll post this evening!
  7. Hi all So had a little run in this morning which has resulted in a scratched up front bumper / number plate . Nothing too serious (not dents just scratches) but could do with getting an idea of how much repairs are going to cost before I decide to take as an insurance job or not. Am after any good body shops that I can take the old girl down to and get some quotes. Any suggestions massively appreciated! Oh and as the subject suggests - I'm Manchester based so anywhere close would be ideal (though of course willing to travel a bit for quality work!) Cheers Dave
  8. Had the remap with the Milltek and Berks HFC last year from TDI - great guys and great service from answering initial queries to performing the work itself. Echo the above comment that is the best thing I've done to the car! Don't think you'll be disappointed EDIT just seen OP was Dec haha, oh well, consider this a recommendation for info
  9. Got Milltek and Berks HFC on mine, and whilst it's not the loudest combo you'll hear, it's most definitely a step up in volume from stock and to my ears it's one of the nicest sounding. When you boot it, it's awesome! EDIT - Of course this comes with the obvious caveat that I'm biased towards my set up
  10. Ok fair point! Just gets to me that my main job is one of the most 'secure' from an insurance perspective whereas because of what I do on my weekends I have to pay through the nose despite the car being nothing to do with it. I get that it's just how insurance works though and there's nothing really I can do - ah well once it's paid it's done and I can just get on with enjoying the car!
  11. Well yeah in retrospect I wish I hadn't done that in the first place Thanks for your replies, I think you're right I need to just contact insurers directly and see what the score is. Problem is I doubt most insurers (ok I'm generalising a bit) will advise me openly on this, and will just want my money!
  12. Planetsurfer that looks awesome! Great thread, enjoyed the read! Thanks for your replies all, went with CC stage 4 in the end! Now running it in and driving like my gran for the time being Cheers
  13. Quick question, potentially someone else has come across this! When on my insurance forms I'm asked about second employment I fill in my part time work (musician) that I do on top of the day job. I don't actually use the zed at all in this second employment - whilst I'm doing that on weekends, the zed is safe and sound back in a secure car park. I've always sided on caution and declared the job anyway, but as it adds a fair bit to the premium I thought I'd check before I renew my policy, would I be voiding my policy by not declaring this? Cheers Dave
  14. Hi all By way of a quick bit of background, am looking to SC my HR zed later this year (currently running stage 3 from TDI). Mainly as I see myself keeping the car long term, and it's an itch I need to scratch regardless of it being a relatively expensive way of going faster!!! I like the look of the GTM kit, it seems to get good numbers and from a bit of a read around seems like a few people on here are running these now? Currently my car is sat sick in L&G in need of a new clutch, so to the extent I can replace OEM with parts can use when running SC then I might as well. At least this way also feels like a bit of a positive coming out of having a wrecked clutch! Just interested to know from people running the kits / with knowledge of these kits what they are running clutch / fly wise? PS. Thanks to CS for advice on this so far! Cheers Dave
  15. Ok great, cheers. Interesting the difference between the DE and HR! Sorted for the cylinder but if it's a new clutch, Alex I'll be giving you a shout later!
