  1. Hi all, just got my 2004 350 and love its looks but think its crying for a spoiler. Nothing massive. I like the blitz and nismo style so let me know what you have. Doesn't matter about colour as it will be painted anyway.

  2. Well after the advice I popped to my local garage today. They have cut and welded in new bits and now.......the car is silent! Im glad the drone in the cabin has gone but i kinda miss the raw sound it made! Im not happy havine a 'fixed' part on the car so im going to do my research and pick something new and shiney. A nismo would be the dream :)

  3. Make sure the back box flange isn't broken. If it is it'll have to be a full system or a weld job. They can weld a sleeve over the join for about £40, that'll give you the time to decide/save for a new system.

So a sleave be welded over where the back box joins to the silencer pipe? If so i think thats what I will do for now.

  4. Thanks for all the comments guys! Can anyone recommend a place to get a cheap centre silencer section that goes into the back box. It's needs replacing ASAP so want a quick fix as its loud atm! It's past welding really. Then I can take my time and decide on a full system :)

  5. Creak from suspension could be the banana arm bush or droplinks.

For the exhaust you could get that one welded fairly cheaply or upgrade to a stainless system. Plenty of options for new exhausts, price wise they start at around £400.

Thanks for the info. Going to take it and get it on the ramps today. I will change the exhaust for a stainless at some point. Not sure what I want though.

  6. Hi guys thanks for the warm welcome on my introduction thread. After searching around for nearly two months ive finally bought my 350 :)

Its a 2004 Gunmetal UK GT with all the toys and on a respectable 44k.

Awesome car and loving it to bit already! DId 7 hours of travelling yesterday to go fetch it but worth every minuite and i got 35.8 mpg on the drive home!

Few little niggles to sort out. The exhaust is blowing from the mid pipe / backbox connection. (very common on the stanndard system I believe) and there is a small creak from the rear suspension. Any ideas what the common issue here would be? The car is completley stanndard.

Thanks guys and if your interested in seeing another stanndard gunmetal I can pop some pictures up!

  7. Thanks for all the advice guys! Sounds like the car is fine then.

As other op's have said nothing major have you checked out the z's for sale on the forum?

Yes I have but the one I'm looking at has done 45k. No low milers in my price range currently for sale on the forum!

  8. Hi all, found a nice Z and wan to go have a look. However on the last MOT it has advisories for..

    ---------

Nearside Rear Parking brake efficiency only just met. It would appear that the braking system requires adjustment or repair. (3.7.A.7)

Offside Rear Parking brake efficiency only just met. It would appear that the braking system requires adjustment or repair. (3.7.A.7)

Both rear tyres worn on inner shoulders

    ---------

He has told me its just the rear parking brake that need adjusting and discs and pads are good. Does this sound right?

He also says tryes are worn like this due to alligment being out? I thought it might be worn suspension components or geometry out as its an inner shoulder?

    Thanks for any advice! :)

  9. Where are you also, that may help?

    Good luck on your hunt

Im based in Lincoln, but as I said before im very willing to travel :)

She's been treated like a queen so the mileage doesn't matter too much. As the other guys have said, a looked after zed with 100k is better than a badly treated zed with 40k ;)

I agree however I see yours is a great car and priced well but has been for sale for some time, the two I have already tried to buy with 47k and 52k have sold before I got a weekend to get down and see them!

  10. If all other boxes are ticked, I wouldn't let mileage be the only factor ruling out a car - as long as it's been looked after, the mileage isn't too much of an issue.

I completly agree that It wouldnt be an issue while its was in my ownership, but im thinking a few years down the line when Im looking to change it and its got over a 100k on the clock it will be a lot less desireable.

  11. As title im after a UK GT spec 350z pre 2006 model. Ideally with less than 65k and FSH. I have cash waiting and willing to travel for the right car :) im based in Lincoln. Let me see what you have!
