  1. Hi all, had the Zed on a nice long run up the M6 the other week and as always she was smooth as ever. Stopped just before my house to fill up and when I went to set off she wouldn't start. It sounded like she was turning over but just not starting up, never missed a beat before.

Tried a couple more times and she started fine and I've driven her since with no dramas, until this morning when the same thing happened again. Took 3-4 attempts to get her to start up.

Has anyone got any idea what's up?

    Thanks in advance,

    Tom

  2. Had the inevitable slipping clutch on the Zed, took it to my local guy who quoted me nigh on £5000 (before labor) to replace the clutch and flywheel!

So I took to the forum and within the hour I had a reply from Ewen at Clark Motorsport, who immediately recommended me a selection of suitable parts from which to chose, and I did so at less than a fifth of the cost originally offered to me.

Needless to say I'll be back for more! Thanks again.

    **UPDATE**

Parts arrived very quickly (and with a bag of Haribo!), had them fitted no problem and she's driving better than ever thanks to Ewan's recommendations :)

  3. Update... The bloke I've left my car with just called. Zed needs a new clutch and flywheel but he'll only get parts from nissan directly and reckons the total cost of buying and importing a clutch and flywheel is... £4900 Is it me or is he attempting to bend me over and apply copious amounts of lube? I could buy a new Zed for that!

So back to square one, would I be fine with the Exedy clutch recommended above with a CC lightweight flywheel? Cheers for the help guys.

  5. So, on my way back home to York (from sunny Scotland) and as luck would have it my clutch completely let go on the A66, no power through any of the gears.

I've read up a bit on this and it seems to be a common issue. I have an '03 JDM Zed which just clocked 59k the other day. Hoping it'll just be a bog standard clutch replacement.

Would I be correct in thinking this? And if so what clutches would you guys recommend as a replacement?

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Hi there. I posted a month or so back asking about the Scorpion system, however have since discovered the Invidia Gemini. Looks fantastic and from what I've heard (if Youtube's to be believed) sounds great too.

However, 2 things are bothering me. Does anyone have any experience with them and can tell me:

    A. Is there any drone when cruising i.e. on motorways?

    B. Do you lose that V6 rumble when at low speeds?

Car is completely stock (JDM) apart from a K&N panel filter in the stock airbox.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. Hi there, new to the club. Picked up an 03 FairladyZ about a month ago and am absolutely loving it.

However I want to get an exhausts system with a bit more roar to it, specifically a Scorpion system as I've used them before and heard good things about them on Zs. On consulting Scorpion they say the system they sell is only suitable for Euro spec models not the JDM imports like mine.

Has anyone managed to fit a Scorpion system to an import and if so have there been any snags?

    Cheers in advance.
