  1. ok before i zip my flame suit to the max, i have searched the forum but cant find the exact answer im looking for hence starting a thread on a topic thats potentially been covered a billion times before.

Right now im all zipped up, how serious is it? does having a clicky axel for whatever reason it actually is mean there is imminent doom headed my way. I bought my Z in August with a clicky rear axel and tbh, ive just ignored itand thought i'll get round to researching it a bit more in the future. Now im deciding to pa closer attention, is it something to be worried about? i explained the jist of whats needed to fix the problem (greasing most people recommend) to the workshop at work and they seemed to think the issue was more serious than one of just a quick lube up, which has got me a bit worried.

so yea, is it a problem? should i be worried?

  2. Thanks for the great comments guys! Trying to keep on top of the dirt and keep it shines, cleaned it twice this week so far! Needs a polish though. Ill grab some more pics when the springs are fitted, just need to get round to it!

  3. A few updates since my last pics so as ive the week off, i decided to grab some fresh shots! Now with HKS style exhaust, 20/25mm spacers & CF Eyelids... Hope you enjoy!

(Still not 100% sold on the eyelids but I think they'll suit it more once it has the splitter, side diffusers and rear spats)

  4. Just ordered some carbon finished ones myself. Never liked a car with eyebrows before but they do make a Z look a little more aggressive. And for £30 I can't complain if I don't like it!

  5. Personally if I was in your position looking for a cheap but decent looking set of wheels I would look at what calibre have to offer. They don't break the bank and have a good range of wheels to choose from. Calibre GT-R's are reasonable and look lovely on 350z's.

  6. Sorry GM missed your post ill get a price when I get back in to work tomorrow!

Smallish update: decided next on the cards was suspension/stance, a little bit wary of coilovers I'm not sure they'd be suitable for the roads I use so sticking with springs for now, then if more lows are needed ill consider it.. Ordered a set of AP springs -30/-30 and Bimecc 20mm front 25mm rear hubcentric spacers! Ill grab some pics when they come through!

  7. Thanks Neo! The exhaust sounds great, really emphasises the burble of the V6 but when cruising isn't droney and overbearing, thanks to the twin loops. When you do put your foot down you get some complementary pops which is nice ;) ill try get a vid up some point this week!

  8. Thought I should do a progress thread so if any one at all is interested they can have a look at the steps my cars taken, and also for my own benefit to! excuse some of the pics, I use an SLR and sometimes quick snaps with an iphone so if they look a bit iffy, blame instagram!

So back in late july early august i found myself a 59,000 mile GT in black. Seemed to have decent history with lots of main dealer reciepts. Noticable changes from previous owners were upgraded grooved brakes and the rear strut bar wrapped in carbon fibre. She was also roking a set of Toyo Proxys. And here's how she looked just after i got her!

I kept her as standard as she was for the first couple of months just to get a feel for the car, listen out for any odd noises etc. Working at R-Tec Auto design in st. albans has its benefits being able to give her a thorough look over after i took delivery for any area's that needed addressing! Thankfully nothing was found!

Quick & easy changes were simple things such as LED rear number plate bulbs and LED sidelight bulbs, subtle but making her look fresh and get rid of the yellow-ness! Of course, a mandatory change to a stubby arial was also made.

Not much changed for about a month but decided to grab a few more pics, while taking the pictures me and a friend had a hunt around the engine bay deciding whether to fit an induction kit or just replace the panel filter, but discovered it already had a k&n panel filter in place! Bonus!

And then.... a box turned up.

  9. Hey guys, getting ready to lower my Z but im still deciding from which brand to buy. Most springs seem to be around the 30mm mark which is fine but im after decent quality. eibach and h&r are under concideration and ive read a great deal on here about user feedback but has anyone tried AP? They are an arm of KW Automotive so despite being priced lower than the others i would assume they still have KW build quality, i just cant decide whether to take the plunge to save £50 or be on the safe side...

  10. I've had my Z a little over a month and want to get stuck in with adding bits and bobs, one thing thats a must do is a front splitter but im not sure if i want to go for a whole kit... yet anyway. I really like the Nismo style lip tarmac sportz supply, but my question is.. will it look odd if i add the splitter but no side skirts or rear spats?

    sorry for newb question.

  11. Well ive owned my Z for a week now so thought it was best i got round to taking some pics, headed out into the countryside with my girlfriend in her Fiesta ST and got some snaps. My Z being standard probably isnt the most interesting to see but thought i'd give you all a look anyway,

Plans are for a front splitter, 30mm lowering, spacers for the wheels and a refurb.. cant decide whether to go for another colour or not.

For anyone interested, the spec on the ST is: lowered 35mm, K&N 57i kit, alloys refurbed in BMW M3 sparkling graphite, ford panther painted plastics, team heko wind deflectors

    hope you enjoy!

  12. Hello

    were in herts you from?

    Stevenage here!

I have a list of bits I want to do, z's aren't the cheapest of motors to modify by the looks of things, fortunately I work at r-tec so it shouldn't be that bad :D had a black 370z in today for lowering. What a beauty!

  13. Hi everyone, im 26 and picked up my Z saturday, first time jap owner (formerly renaultsport fan) thought i better sign up and get as much knowledge as i can!

And here she is! (Excuse the image quality, iPhone!)

    21460_10151634059904735_1980867469_n.jpg

As you can see, black, GT pack.. standard albeit upgraded brake discs and pads and a carbon fibre wrapped rear strut bar cover. 58,000 miles, full nissan dealer service history.. and you guys and girls could probably tell me the rest.

Looking forward to enjoying her and maybe a tweek or two along the way (already fitted a stubby ariel and LED number plate lights).

Will post more pics soon after ive taken some with a friends z32! Anyone feel free to follow me on instagram if you so wish @Jehuty
