  1. Yeah it does. Took me a while to notice haha. Thanks
  2. I had a quick search but couldnt find an answer. My battery on the key has run out so now all i have is one out of battery key and one emergency key. Is there a way to stop the alarm going off without using the button on the keyfob? Im getting a new battery early next week so its just a temporary measure. Thanks:)
  3. Yeah, can't argue with 70k on a sports car. Might uprate the clutch to be honest, although at my age any change and the insurance asks for my soul!
  4. It is a DE and is about to hit the 70k mark. I will add that it has proven to be an intermittent problem. Also, I had to start my car on an obnoxiously steep hill and it had no issue whatsoever and even in walking pace traffic (which is my daily commute) it never misses a beat. It is also odd that it is most prominent in fifth gear and non existent below fourth.
  5. Not lighting them up. Full throttle as I said but I mean 2-3000 rpm isn't where the power lies. I just said the no ESP light as it could have been due to a lack of grip on tyres due to being under inflated or low on tread etc so just ruling that out really. The clutch feels very healthy, but it does seem likely to be a clutch issue. I am going to get it serviced this month so when I do that I will just ask them to check the clutch too and tell them the issue. Hopefully they won't just try and rip me off
  6. Weird thing I noticed today. When in 4th or 5th gear if I full throttle at about 2000 rpm-2400 rpm the revs seem to jump, sometimes as high as 3000 rpm. The speed is not affected at all and there seems to be no negative effect and the esp light does not show. Any idea what would cause this?
  7. My personal thoughts were that a low rpm meant the engine had to work a lot harder but at the same time the idle sits at 700-800rpm so surely the engine is comfortable in this band. Of course I know nothing about how engines work and that is at least partly why I posed this question
  8. I tend to stick at about 2500rpm myself aswell. Sometimes I let it climb to around 3k (I do not have a custom exhaust yet so noise isn't an issue). I feel like anything below 2000 would be making the engine work too hard!
  9. Thought I would start a pretty simple topic. What RPM do you guys normally sit at when cruising? DO you put it in the highest gear possible or do you like to sit at a higher rpm of 3k? Would love to know, might find a sweet spot of available power and good mpg
  10. Is there any point to buying an invidia exhaust system without replacing cats with something like the berks HFC?
  11. Haha Audi really arent as reliable as you would expect although mine were fine for the short time i had them. I do like how cheap parts for 350z are. Definitely going to get an exhaust in september!

  13. Hey, so just a quick introduction! I have a 350z at the moment I guess I am a new owner as I have only had it for 7-8 months. Been a follower of the forum for a year or more though but delayed my new member post until I had the car for over 6 months because I normally change cars every 3 months and swapping from forum to forum was getting old Been loving the 350z not much faster than my old cars but my first rear wheel drive. To be fair, it does not feel fast at all and I often worry that a diesel could embarass me until I get over 4k rpm! Anyway, my car history: I had a fiat punto for about 2 months as my first car Went onto an Audi TT 3.2l Mk1. It was an INCREDIBLY fast car due to the quattro system and it delivered power so smoothly it certainly felt a faster car even though on paper I know it isn't. Exhaust was louder but not as sporty. Ultimately sold this because there was always the niggling thought that the DSG gearbox was going to explode and write off the car (since it cost a few thousand to replace and that was ALWAYS happening on forums) Had it for about a year. Went into an Audi A5 2.0tfsi front wheel drive. Awful awful oil consumption issues. 1l every 200 miles or so. Nice car but inherently flawed. Sold it after 3 months Bought another Audi TT this time a 2.0tfsi Mk2 front wheel drive again. Liked this car but I should have forked out for AWD. It was fast, very fast and apparently when you remap them they become unbelievable. I think I had this 6 months but it may have been a bit less. It was so ecoomical but I missed the V6 so I ended up going back into one in the form of a 350z. So far on the 350z all I have done is replace the brakes with black diamond front and back discs and pads. Little thing I dislike is the wind noise. I also need to either buy new alloys or refurb the ones I have. It is GT pack but alas no rays unfortunately. Also needs a front bumper respray as the old owner must have had a thing for driving into high curbs. Despite my new pads I still ger a slight squeak from the brakes now and then, is that normal? 14. Thanks for the warm welcome guys! Still looking - not in any rush to find a Z - looking at any pre 06 model now really because I want the lower tax band to be honest! Thought I would share some photos of my cars to date! The first was a 3.2 litre Mk1 Audi TT. Probably my favourite car so far, it had neck breaking pull at any rpm and no matter what the weather. Second is an A5 2.0 tfsi - this was an awful car - had a relatively big turbo (I think) so since the car was heavy it would be nothing... nothing... everything. Also went through a litre of oil every 500-800 miles and had a horrible electronic handbrake! Third is my current car which is a 57 plate TT 2.0 TFSI and this has a surprisingly nice exhaust note and power throughout the rev range but only when it is dry since it is FWD only.
  15. Hey guys. going to get a zed at the end of august or september and looking for an 05 or 07 model as from what i have read pre 05 have tyre feathering issues and 06 have oil issues. Dont want oil issues again, had it in my a5 and it was ultimately the reason i sold it. Time to get back into a v6 now so just going to look for the perfect car and look forward to joining the zed club!
  16. As an audi driver myself (mk1 TT 3.2 V6 looking to get a 350z when my insurance renewal comes around) I can honestly say all audi drivers, BMW drivers and range rover drivers are arseholes. It is not so much the fact they always want a race but that they ALWAYS cut you up. Just today I was cruising along in the fast lane and a 3 series pulls out in front of me without indicating and doing about 50mph so I had to do some very heavy braking. Almost daily on the school run around 3-4pm I get a range rover or a 3 series or an A4 just pull out of a junction without looking then they wonder why you beep at them as they are too interested in shouting at their kids to follow the rules of the road. I don't get many people race me apart from when I am on the motorway when the diesels are more than happy to go well over 100mph and wonder why you aren't doing the same - I do not want the instant ban thanks. At night time if I am driving home I do tend to get a lot of people want to race me at traffic lights especially golfs to the point that on the odd occasion I do use launch control just to make a point! I think the issue is a nice car does not want to drive too fast as when you see the mpg hit single figures you feel like your wallet is on fire but it is okay for the diesels that can get over 60mpg nowadays!
