  1. Does anybody have an previous experience in importing a car into the UK?

I have been after a Porsche 356 for several moons, and the UK market is not the best, rare as rocking horse turd, and prices are inflated.

I am mainly after a project 356, can get complete rust buckets here in the UK for roughly 15k with matching engine and chassis numbers, It takes approx a further 40-50K to restore to a complete gem.

HOWEVER, Looking at the US market, they are more common over there and prices are still relatively low,

for the 15k in the US I can buy a matching numbers part resorted car with full referbed engine (the same in the US would cost around 25k+)

Only issue is obviously the LHD and different needs to make it UK registered with lights etc etc..

Does anyone have experience importing from a different country, any car at all. Is it a major ball ache with acres of trees to fill out?

    regards

  2. Very nice, Im in the market for a Cayman too. Has it got PASM ?

    Hello,

Car does not have PASM, it simply wouldn't work with the current suspension set up, and is not worth the fuss.

My Old CaymanS had PASM.. and that is one extra that wasn't on my "must have list" I found it over-rated and not at all useful.. ever.

If you would like to have a chat about my car, or anything else I can help you with.. what spec you want, what to buy.. what not to buy etc. Feel free to ask questions even if it is regarding another cayman/caymanS, I am always happy to help - It may just save you a huge headache in the future as there is a lot of "bad ones" out there in comparison to the good ones.

    kind regards.

  3. Anywho... IT didn't sell on Ebay, had a few very good offers on it after the auction ended.

However, I am keeping it :)

Booked in next week for a few engine mods, Gt3 Throttle body, Gt3 intake plenum, Which is much better than standard.

After that It will have an LSD fitted along with Sway bars and new uprated drop links with geo setup

I will then be taking it in regarding the exhaust, its currently a Porsche sport exhaust however may be getting changing to a borla or remus for a turbo modification later down the line, TPC (racing team in america) specialise in making them, eats gt3s if set up correctly, however they now make a stage 2 and stage 3.. so will take a look at all options :)

I will keep you guys updated If interested.

  4. Hello all,

Probably the wrong section, but I couldn't find a right one.. so the "wanted"section seemed best place..

I am not after car parts etc... I am looking for anyone that does website design on a professional basis.

I have made several in the past, but looking to take one that I am currently making "to the next level"

If anyone offers this service could you please shoot me a PM and I will tell you my ideas etc and we can have a chat about what you can do for me?

    Thanks

  5. and thanks for all the nice comments, great to see other appreciate german :)

So far have 1200 page views and 130 watches, problem with eBay is everyone wants a bargain, however, I am in no rush to sell it, and will hold out for the best possible price I think that I can achieve

  6. Thanks all, Bought the cayman S to Stratch the itch after I sold my old Cayman S. (I've had two now)

Boy hood dream.. well still kind of a boy at 22 haha.

however the misses wants me to get a c63.. as its more "practical" for her and the dog... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-C63-AMG-Saloon-C63-AMG-BIG-SPEC-/360891622764?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item5406d1256c :surrender:

  7. It's all in the prep and coverage matey,

On full cars we offer a 3 year warranty, obviously if it's abused it cleaned other than how we specify that's invalid.

We don't offer on alloys as, just like paint will scuff etc with potholes and curb damage

  8. I dont, However, At the right of interest I have, I may be in london quite a bit!

I do now have a mini "pop-up" work shop that I use if customers don't want to nor can't find the time to come to me

  9. Also quick tip here :

If you expect the Glossifer to be gloss like paint, sadly its not, its more of a satin, due to how the dip is as a material it will never give the same shine as car paint.
