  1. Hi all, Hoping you can help with an issue. Ive had clutch issues with my 350z recently so purchased a LUK clutch and flywheel kit from techniclutch. The garage I dropped the car in at to have the work done have come back with this; So the clutch that we have removed from you car has an auto adjusting clutch pressure plate made by LUK. (which has genuine Nissan stamp on… main dealer part), and the friction plate is 240mm in diameter. The parts we have that you supplied are incorrect for the following reasons the clutch pressure plate is the sprung style which is incorrect and the friction plate is larger at 250mm, also the release bearing you supplied is a concentric slave which is also incorrect as your car is fitted with a manual bearing. I hope this helps you sourcing the correct parts and if you need to forward to your parts supplier it will be surficent to aid them. The part numbers off of your old parts are as below Pressure plate. LUK F4702 Friction plate. LUK 30100 CD021 No number on bearing. Techniclutch are sure its the correct kit for my car. Does anyone have any history of this or could advise? Thanks
  2. Thanks Richf - I'm located in Basingstoke. I've heard the head unit is ok, just upgrading the front speakers makes quite an improvement apparently. Not sure if that's just the door units or tweeters as well. Hopefully someone on the site with experience to advise!
  3. Ah, thought this might be a common requirement but should have known as not much info when I looked. Any advice on specialists that might be able to help/ point me in the right direction?
  4. Hi, Had a scroll through the threads but cant seem to find specific info as such. Just purchased a GT 2012 370Z with Nav and the sound quality isnt great. My 350z had a pioneer head unit which improved the sound no end so the current tinny sound in the 370z isnt quite cutting it. Ive heard replacing the 370z front speakers improves things immensely and wondered if anyone had any advice on what would do the job. Have any members posted any guides on how to replace? If be prepared to pay for some decent speakers if they improve the current (what seems to be) budget sound? Mnay thanks
  5. Wow, just did my research and didn't realise they'd released so many variations! The Nismo looks like a beast - shame I'm restricted to auto (the wife only drives autos and may have to use the car sometimes!)
  6. Hi, Im on the lookout for a 370Z auto but not allowed to post in the forum. It suggested contacting somoene in admin but I cant see how to contact admin? Any ideas please?
  7. Hi, Looking for the above - any variation considerred at the right price! Cheers
  8. Thanks all. As you can see, not up to speed on clutch options so appreciate the help. I think I'm just going to settle on the clutch kit. Exedy seem to be the cheapest although there are some listed cheaper as fast road/ Kevlar/ stage 1/ competition? I presume these are specific types for set purposes rather than everyday driving? Thanks again for all your advice
  9. Thanks - have contacted all the guys so hope to have all the quotes in soon. One thing I wonder - what is the difference between a clutch and a clutch kit?!
  10. Thanks - title says Basingstoke. Seen a few items on the likes of ebay, so presume I'm looking for clutch & flywheel kit then? Thanks
  11. Hi guys, Ive tried my best to search the forums but the info im finding relates to years past. I noticed a little time ago that the clutch was playing up. Its now at the stage where if I am in second, change to forth and punch it, the engine revs and takes a couple of seconds to level itself. It seems very much like the clutch is slipping and needs to be replaced. Im looking at changing the car soon so really dont want to be forking out huge amounts to get it replaced. Ive contacted a few people based on old threads and am either getting quotes far exceeding that reported here years ago or a reluctance to fit the likes of Exedy kit. Ive contacted the local Nissan dealers but as per usual, no response to emails and people don't call you back - useless. Any advice on where would help? Happy to travel an hour/ maybe 2 for the right garage! Cheers
  12. Hi, Hoping for some advice please! Got in the car last night and started the car....thought I was in a Imprezza from the sound the car made! I dropped it into my local mechanics and they said the connection between the Rear Silencer and Centre section had rusted through and broke. Apparently I need both and wondered where to start. I have to admit that the sound coming from the broken exhaust is awesome but obviously I am not using the car through fear of doing damage or parts falling off! Ive seen a "350z Cobra Exhaust Middle + Rear (Resonated on Ebay for £485 which I presume will do the job. I would ideally like to spend less but want something good quality that hopefully sounds great also. Does anyone have an experience/ recommendations/ offers please? Thanks
  13. Hi, ive just refurbed my convertible motor so if anyone needs advice, feel free to PM me
  14. Hi, Ive just serviced my 5th Bow motor in reference to roof issues so if anyone needs advice on this feel free to PM me. Thanks
  15. Hi, anyone know where I can get a refurb motor from other than zmanalex. Ive pmd him a few times without an answer and am really wanting a roof that works while we have some sun,
  16. Great - thanks for the quick replies guys
  17. Hi, have an 05 UK convertible and about a week ago I went to put the hood down and the normal process started i.e windows down, passenger seat came forward and rear window part came unclipped but then the rear window didnt come up. I pressed the button again and there was a noise but the actual rear part didnt come up. It seems to be the 5th bow motor and I have seen that its likely to be fixed by replacing the bushes in the motor. It seems quite involved and wondered if anyone had any experience of this and even better, if anyone could recommend someone who has undertaken the work/ knows what they are doing. Would much prefer to pay a mechanic to do it! Thanks
  18. Does anyone have any cracking options on front discs?! My zed has been squealing and after numerous trips to Nissan to get both front and rear sets cleaned, they believe that the discs being lipped on both fronts is causing the issue and they need replacing. I was looking at replacing them with a standard set as I use the car only for commuting but if there is a reasonable perceived upgrade then I might be tempted!?! There seems to be some very good EBC deals on Ebay but have no idea if these would be recommended parts or not? Any advice would be great. Thanks
  19. I see her every day and wave so thought it about time I properly say hello! Anyone know who this is?!!
  20. Hi, I purchased a set off of a company on ebay called corseautosports. I had 2 sets replaced in 6 months and am now removing the 2nd set as only 1 light is working. I would recommend having the LED reflectors but the ones ive purchased dont last long at all and as such, im having to revert back to the standard reflectors. If anyone knows of someone manufacturing decent long lasting LED side reflectors, I'd be very interested!
  21. Hi there, I noticed that there was some wind noise coming from the drivers side and upon further inspection, it appears that there are a couple of small marks on the roof. Air is obviously getting in but there doesn't appear to be any signs of water coming in. Im thinking that I should address this issue sooner rather than later as the issue may get worse if left (especially over winter). I approached a local guy who advertises convertible repair and he has quoted £20 to put some patches in....presume they are just standard sticky water resistant patches that are flexible. I could probably find them and do it myself. Upon further inspection I noticed that the stitching is coming away. Does anyone have any experience of these type of issues and how best to address? Can anyone recommend anyone local to Basingstoke/ Hampshire? Pics here: http://s1350.photobucket.com/user/gingerslippers/slideshow/350Z%20roof Thanks
  22. Thanks, turns out that the P80BT I have is incomplete so have just bought a new P800BT. I just want improved sound quality and integrated BlueTooth for my phone so went for the cheaper option. Being installed on Saturday for £70 so thanks for all your help guys. Cheers
  23. Thanks, I think I will stick with installing the P80BT. It sounds like there will be some marked improvements and it looks much better!
