  1. Off topic Chubby but when you are coming down to the smoke let me know and maybe we can organise a meet up, be good to catch up with someone that has such a good sense of humour

bit of an update guys, after a second opinion it turns out my radiator isn't burst at all! but my power steering cooler is but iv got one on its way from zmanalex as we speak. its saved me £450 but im a little gutted because I thought I was getting a mishimoto radiator :( . where are you located dave? im meeting up with vlad in Birmingham after the mapping session and staying the night there. would be great to meet up with a few of you if youre close :teeth:

Luck was on your side then chubs . Because takeing the rad/fans out with a vortech sc is Long!

  2. My radiator has managed to burst two weeks ago even though my cars been up on axel stands for 4 weeks  . Anyway I thought I should just upgrade it while I was at it. My mates dads got a japspeed radiator for his skyline and says its great but has done less than 100 miles in it since fitting as its a garage queen so im not convinced. everything else ive ever bought from japspeed (K1 exhaust, 2 sets of un silenced decats and a set of silenced ones) have fallen apart in weeks to a couple of months so my faith in the company has taken a massive hit to say the least. Im not looking to spend massive amounts of money as im in the middle of a supercharged build and pennys are tight as I need to keep a good bit for the mapping.. Also if anyone knows if the standard fans just bolt back onto the new radiator that would help too. And a bit of a long shot if anyone knew if the new radiator plus fans, if there is enough room for the vortech intercooler pipe at the back as its pretty tight already. Thanks for any help guys/girls

Chubs did you have to take it all off! ?

  3. Why you driving all the way to London for a remap? Haven't abbey licenced the stuff to someone further up north, tide or something I think?

because its a supercharged map and I want Mark at Abbey to do it as It seems he has the most experience in mapping forced induction zeds. Youre thinking of TDI North but I don't think they've done any f/I zeds as far as I know

    Yo chubs

takeing the fans/rad out is a nightmare just because the vortech sc is in the way! Best way to get fan\rad out as you have to pull it upwards is to undo Sc from bracket & give it a little wiggle lol. If lucks on your side you might not have to start takeing of the vortech sc intercooler cast pipes!!! like i did. : -0 oh I forgot bumper off too

& yes fan do bolt on

  4. Hi bros anyone used one of these clutch on a z ?

..ACT 6 Puck Sprung for the Nissan 350Z 2003-06 VQ35DE and Infiniti G35 Coupe/Sedan 2003-06 VQ35DE. The kit comes with a heavy duty pressure plate, 6 pads spring disc, throw out bearing, and pilot bearing.

If so what's it like ?

    Thanks vortec27

  5.

Generally 10+ bhp is gained from a remap with UPREV the best gain is the more responsive throttle response in the lower 3 gears. We run the stock DE over 400 hub bhp with carefully tuning, We tune via the OBD port.

    any questions ask away

    Hi mark

how much over 400 bhp at the hub are you running on the stock DE ?. Also what's the limit you can push on stock block ?

    Thanks vortec27

  6. So it sprays water into the intake? Is that right? I thought water going into the intake would be a bad thing as it doesnt compress?

Not compressing is a good thing ;)

OK we are talking minute amounts here it's not a hose pipe running into the inlet it is a mist sprayed into the inlet air stream, this cools the air. The air is very hot from the SC and even with an IC still hot enough to cause det if, like me, you are stupid enough to run high comp pistons and after market cams.

The water turns to steam in the cylinder and should not cause any damage the "not compressing" has been referred to as the steam engine effect - in the good old days they ran engines on steam and it can (as it becomes superheated steam by the fuel burn) increase down force on the piston and therefore torque - the reality is if it does you probably wouldn't read the figures on a dyno its not enough in there.

But again we go back to its cooling properties - that's what I use it for and it works 2 tuners on 2 dyno machines can detect knock without the water so I'm keeping it :)

K how London did kit take to fit ?

  7. whos mgt racing? I would seriously recommend getting it uprevd at abbey or Horsham.ive heard that no one else has managed to succesfully map the vq engine properly apart from uprev. or are you running a stand alone engine management?

Hi chubs mgt racing are a skyline specailst garage don't worry they know there stuff

  8. This is what vortech has to say

    Good afternoon Vortec27

The threads differ from valve to valve, so there is no set amount that should be shown.

Your best bet is normally to take the valve off completely from the piping to visually inspect the valve. If you look into the opening of the valve and there is a gap, then that means you need to adjust the adjustment screw located on top. If the valve is closed completely then no adjustment is needed.

Also, it is very important not to push or poke the diaphragm of the valve for this will damage the valve.

What's dose he mean by if the valve is closed completely ?

  9. Hi Sam thanks for your 2 pence worth. the high picth whistle was not there befor map i had the jet kind of swoosh noise what was nice :) I got it mapped but it was not makeing more then 5psi boost with 3.12 pulley so the garage played with bypass adjust screw at the time of mapping and never put the adjust screw back to the stock 8-9 threads. also they was thinking I had a boost leak at 1 point turns out my belt was sliping . So it looks like they maped it with about 5-6 threads showing
