  1. Hi all,

I need to get the battery replaced on the 370. I've looked at a few places online and prices vary a lot. So do the spec details.

Does anyone know what the factory battery Ah and the cca figures are? (Can't find the info in the manual)

    Cheers.

  2. Hi all,

    Regards my roadster.

Had to disconnect the negative terminal from the battery earlier today. Followed the procedure in the manual to the letter. Then followed the instructions to reconnect the battery. All went well except now, when I open the driver door, the window drops a fraction as it should, but when I close the door, it does not go back up that little bit.

    Any ideas?

    Many thanks in advance.

  3. That's the annoying thing. It sounds absolutely great to me as soon as I drive it. It's only when idling that the noise occurs...

I've just filled in the contact form on Cougar Stores site asking about getting it checked. Is it a mammoth job to identify if it is the gallery gaskets ?

(on a side note, anyone else suffer from missing letters when replying on here using Internet Explorer 11? It is fine in chrome ??)

  4. Must admit, I am panicking a bit. It is due for a P2 service in March. Wondering whether I should wait till then.

What is the consensus... Min dealer or Indy to have the Gallery gaskets checked while in for a service.

I've had no loss in power / limp mode and the oil temp reaches the same level as its always done (though I appreciate that this is not the same as oil pressure.)

    Thanks for the help everyone.

  5. Video compiling as I type this. I think I may have sussed the issue. I think it is the exhaust.

The video I'm posting shows Idling from a cold start, Idling when warm, Switching on Air Con, Gentle revving and idle - all of which sound perfect with no noise issues. The final part of the clip is after a short run in the car. The noise can then be heard clearly. While I was looking I dropped my keys on the floor. When I bent down to pick them up I could hear the noise more clearly from under the car so I got underneath and it was much louder there, which leads me to think it is the exhaust.

    Any thoughts ?

Can't see how to embed youtube clips so,

    Video Link - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pr91JcRREJ0&feature=youtu.be

    Thanks everyone.

  6. Next time the noise is apparent, try switching on the air con to take the revs up slightly, just to see if the noise diminishes.

Failing that, take the revs up to 1000rpm to check if the noise disappears.

Will do and will report back.

    Cheers.

  7. I'll do that tomorrow for sure.

Cant do it tonight as the Mrs would lock me out if I start faffing about at this time of night

It's a strange issue. It sounds beautiful when being driven. It only crops up at tickover :tumbleweed:

  8. Cheers nissanman. It is due its next service at Westway Wolverhampton in March but I think I need to get it looked at before then. I just wondered if any members on here had come across anything that sounded like my issue.

    Thanks again.

  9. Hi,

I've had my 370z auto for nearly two years now and it has been flawless and trouble free throughout. Fully serviced at Nissan main dealer.

This evening, I took her out for a run - about 10 miles. I didn't push it at all until the oil temp was up and even then I didn't floor it. When I arrived back home, parked on the drive and still running, I could hear a bit of a knocking noise which appeared to be coming from the engine. I've never heard his before. I reversed off the drive and drove around the block, back onto the drive, and couldn't hear it. So, I drove the car into the garage, put it in "park" and I heard it again. A slight blip on the throttle and I couldn't hear it again.

Any ideas ? Has anyone else had this. It is concerning to say the least. It has only done 25000 miles.

    Cheers.

  10. Your a brave brave man relying on a trolley jack in the past ! , I'm paranoid about the car crushing me to a slow painfull death whilst I cry for my mummy but no one hears me

Glad your getting some sound advice on here

All stems back to the indestructibility of youth ! Or so I thought all those years ago

I've always relied on either the trolley jack or the ramps I used to have, but alas, the ramps are no good at all for 275 tyres :)

Thing is, as I've gotten older, and got kids, I've become more aware of my own mortality so I won't be relying on just the trolley jack an more.

Thanks to you guys on here, I'll be doing it the correct way from now on !

    Cheers again lads

  11. Good tip KyleR.

I did the job today. I made an adapter out of a piece of timber with a slot cut into it to span the seam on the sill. Jacked the car up and got the job done !

I'll be getting a hockey puck though as suggested because my timber version looked the worse for wear by the time I'd finished !

    Cheers guys
