  1. The same happened to mine.

You can remove it without taking the exhaust off, it just needs a bit of persuasion and bending bits of the heat shield to get past certain areas.

To remove the backbox you only need to remove 2 bolts and slip it off the hangers, so just as easy to do that rather than struggle with it in the way

Thanks bud, I'll do that today :)

  2. Hi guys,

The bolts holding in the heat shield have corroded on my 2003 350, leaving it to hang and rattle against the exhaust. I have a Cobra system fitted, do I need to remove the back box before being able to take out the heat shield? Or will it slide out? I've read that it should be OK to take it out (as opposed to welding or bolting it back in).

    Any advice is appreciated..

    Cheers

  3. To drive it in Germany during the winter, it has to have winter tyres on. If you get pulled you will be raped, brutally.

If you do put winter tyres on it, I'd be pretty impressed if you managed to bin it.

Another thing.. if the car is in the drive then it does not need winter tyres. Should you decide to buy a 400 euro shed for the winter then it's fine to stay there without them fitted.

  4. No way, that's absolutely nothing!

I had an alloy once that was pretty buckled and chipped. Took it to a local (South West) welding specialist and for £60 it was repaired and balanced perfectly.

If you don't know of any nearby and none come up on here, call a local tyre specialist and see if they can recommend one.

  6. Words can't really do justice to the crew at the 'shed, fantastic bunch and they all have really bent over backwards to sort me out on many occasions (one instance in particular..! *cough* ).

Not just the mechanical side of things though, the hospitality is spot on. Truly decent people who I can't thank enough. B)

  7. Well, ideally I'm looking for a cheaper option that carries noise. So far my attention has been drawn to the K1/Cobra/Scorpion.. though having seen all of these in the flesh (non-resonated), I would say that the K1 seems the most aggressive.

  8. There's much better loud exhausts available, the buddy club is a favourite of the forum volume enthusiasts. I've gone single exit and it's pretty loud, sounds like this:

    It wasn't expensive either :)

That does indeed sound pretty cool, what's the fitment like?

  9. The spacial aspect of the zed is a true winner...

Can't tell if the chicks or the blocks are looking it's to fast :p
