  1. Lol. Haha. I slept in. Can someone pm me a number and I'll come join people.

I checked this sodding thread at about 8 yesterday. No one seemed keen. Lol.

Now I've missed the meet I suggested. Lol

If anyone could pm me a number for either of them I'd appreciate that.

    Thanks.

  2. Oh damn,

firstly, thank you very much for all of your advice.

Luxembourg is a definite now... Probably through the route suggested through Belgium and to Germany's oldest town...

However, I might aim to do this part of the journey on the way home, and shorten our stay in the north lakes / central italy.

I'll speak to Emma tonight and upload an updated route.

All of your are legends, thanks!

I look forward to more advice ;p

  3. My girlfriend, I and the Zed are going on Holiday to Europe in August.

I've read around the forum obv and the net in general. I think I have decided on the below route...

    Coventry > Nice (2) > Col de Turini (1) > Genoa (1) > FLORENCE (6) > Rimini (1) > Ravenna (1) > North Lakes somewhere (2) > North Italy / Switzerland (2) > Coventry

    (n) is how many nights we are staying in each place.

Bold signifies that those stays are purely for driving roads purposes.

Caps means florence is a chilling stay, park up, and don't drive for a couple of days. (Emma's request)

I welcome any advice of course, but there are some bits of this journey I really would like advice with :

1, Roads / Hotels / Things to do in Col de Turini?

2, Roads / Hotels / Things to do in North Italy / Switzerland (atm, the only plan is to do stelvio - davos - san bernadino, any other nice roads / places?)

3, Any general recommendations for Italy? (literally as far as towns we should stay in... we are open, we just want Italy.)

4, North Lakes, we have done no research yet, we are just staying here to make our way to Austria / Switzerland... Emma has heard Lake Garda is good.

5, Nice, we are spending one day doing nothing, and then the next going to Monaco and returning to Nice... is this wise? should I stay in Monaco? any recommendations?

    Things to note,

Emma doesn't drive.. So I will be doing it all, hence a lot of stops just to be sure, no commutes but those to Central Europe and back are more than 4 hrs.

    Thanks for reading.. ;s

  4. G-Girl,

Im in good ol' cov, so if you for whatever reason turn down Vlad's offer, perhaps you dont like Vlad's, I'm happy to pop over.

That having been said; I agree with many others it seems, and I would say take your time. Test drive a few, read some forum advise, watch some crazy japanese "drift king" reviews on youtube...

    Vlad,

Im generally always up for a drive, so i'll keep an eye out for when you're going, and perhaps come and offer a second pair of eyes.

  5. David, if hot tailing it down here is something you want to do this morning, feel free.

I am still going on a drive but it'll only be a short one given I want to be at the show quite early.

I've pm'd you my number so when you get this you can call me to see what I am doing.

  6. David. Since you're coming from derby, let's leave this till next weekend and we can plan it better. Apologies.

What I'll do is push it back till next week, hopefully then we get a Brillo.

Mitz my apologies good sir. Next time.

Next Sunday, 9 am start at kenilworth castle.

People who are interested just confirm you'll attend on here I'll get route sorted and meet you there.

  7. Thread made,

(im unsure if this is stepping on Ians toes, my sincerest apologies if it is)

Anyone who is interested in some breakfast, some videos of their car, hell, even if you just fancy coming down and snow foaming the cars.... post up on the other thread what you'd like to do on the next "first sunday of the month" drives.

FYI, currently I do these drives with a s2k driver.... if he turns up, can we all refrain from becoming a rabble, and lynching him?

  10. I did this route a couple of weekends back, it was immense...

    Recommendations :

    Brecon beacons, obv.

    down to st davids

up along the coast to aberystwith < unsure spelling

Then back via the ellan valley.

Most fun i've had in my Z.

When I get round to it i'll upload the pictures.

Keep me informed as to when this is happening, i might be free.

Also, I'm really up for doing a weekend in scotland with the same aim, find and drive nice roads.

  11. How similar effect could I achieve by just smoothing out the reflectors in my OEM.......

    I think ima do it!

Thank you Clarkie, I owe you a beer, the inspiration will no doubt save me a Nismo v2 front. ;p

  12. Hang on, is that an OEM front bumper with the reflectors smoothed? or an aftermarket?

Apologies if this is like obvious as fk....

    Edited to include compliment.

It looks banging, i want one.

  13. Cobra Exhaust...

Im in Coventry, if you are interested in hearing mine i could come and show you.

I have a Cobra full cat back system with HFC's.

I think Wendy, who is also from the midlands, has an Invida gemini......
