The actual fronts of the perspex/plexi are nice and shiny now ie not smoky or yellowed, but I still have TONS of crazing on them which looks like its on the INSIDE?

Might make this my first ever Zed event

Hi guys
Looking to change out my cloth seats for leather. Whats the craic with the electrics? my cloth seats are manual but there is a power plug going into the bottom of the seat which I guess powers the airbag and a seat belt warning sensor on the clip?
Will a set of electric leather seats just bolt in and use the same plug to power the switches?
cheers

MAF gets my vote - the way you describe it is exactly the same symptoms as I had with a 4.0 RR recently - I used some CRC Air Cleanser Cleaner I got from Ebay. I took out the sensor and spent the afternoon spraying and letting it dry a few times and it showed an immediate improvement - but a couple of months later I changed the sensor anyway and instantly noticed a BIG difference then and it ran better than it had for years.

Just wondered if anyone else has these ENKEI RS+M wheels on their Zed..?

They have big fat 50 profile tyres on them, and the open spoke style shows off the (unfortunately) standard calipers! Not happy with the look at all.

May give this a go in a few weeks. So is it literally start on the lowest grade, 1000, sand till evenly sanded, clean, move up a grade, clean, move up a grade, clean then polish with something like autosol or megs headlight restorer?
Yeah thats exactly what I done - spent about 15 mins on each wet n dry then 15 mins with T-cut but lots of people saying the MAGS stuff or metal polish is better - I didnt remove the lights but I masked off around the edge of the lights - although when the masking tape got wet it was a b*tch to get off so next time I would remove headlights or use rags in the gaps around the edge instead of masking tape.

After reading a few threads about misty/cloudy headlights I decided to have a go at cleaning them up.
Spent about an hour per headlight using fine wet n dry 2000, then 1500, then 1000, then polished up with T-cut. It has made a big difference already...
I'm sure you were meant to write those grit grades in reverse
sh*t yeah sorry to anyone planning to try it - its 1000 then 1500 then 2000 !! lolol
I havent used any kit just the wet n dry, the T-cut and plenty elbow grease.
Planning to machine polish next.

Hi Kaiser Im a new Z owner local to you (Birmingham). I have 2 off used keys here the previous owner gave me as there is no working spare, but I dont have the NATS code. If come over are you able to "capture" whats needed off my good key and re-program one of the spare keys from that ?
Thanks

I have a set of cloth seats from my JDM, 35000 miles which I would be interested in swapping for these - Birmingham based

Hi guys
Im after a set of Altezan colour seats. I see a couple on ebay just wondered if any members have any for sale? Would also consider having my cloth seats re-trimmed in leather - does anyone know a Midlands based company who can do this?
Thanks
-
stet last message - Ive ended up buying a gun metal grey JDM. Collected yesterday and drove it home 300+ miles. Its only done 35k miles but it looks like a bag of sh*t ! - more car park scrapes and dings than an Asda shopping trolley, cloudy yellowed headlights, alloys which have been used as a chewing toy by a bear, scruffy broken number plates, and enough dirt in engine bay to grow potatoes in !
BUT I was able to get a great price, its low mileage, drives SUPERB, and I can now spend the next cpl weeks getting her tip-top so overall very pleased

ok Im 90% sure Im buying a SILVER Zed guys, just waiting to hear if my offer is accepted and Ill once again be a zed owner
.. anyone want to swap my JDM silver rear (pics to follow) for silver UK rear?
-
Hmm.. I go to those polish run car wash garage and they always stick that black stuff round tyres (even when I say not to since ive white inked my writing on tyres). Got me wondering what their using now
Should definately ask them what they are using - I certainly got the impression this wasnt a one-off trick, he seemed to think most hand car wash places do the same !
-
Just took my car (Range R not a zed) into local hand car wash guys for wash and wheel clean. He asked if I wanted the tyres dressed, first I said yeah ok, he lifts a bucket of black stuff and a brush and I ask what it is. He says its "OLD ENGINE OIL AND WATER" - I told him not to bother and he says "its fine its an old valeters trick"
SURELY not right???

I'd happily swap my UK rear for a JDM rear
What colour is yours and where are you based?
Im based in Birmingham and Im looking right now for an import zed - want the auto/tip box (yeah yeah I know ) but Ive had one before and loved it. its a 2nd car and use it mostly for weekends away to Scotland and South Wales so happy to give up a little of the "purer" driving experience offered by the manual - but Im not into the JDM rear bumper - so as soon as I get one I will be happy to swap with anyone for a UK bumper in the same colour - which will be silver or grey.
Im looking to spend 6k-7k if anyone knows of a suitable car for sale.
-
Hi all
has anyone converted a jap "square" recess bumper to a rectangular uk recess? anyone seen a kit of any description -
Just wondered before I go buying a UK bumper.
thanks

The Zedworld website is not our website.
I posted the comment in the Professional Traders Sub-Forum for ZEDWORLD ! I thought they (ZEDWORLD), you as moderators, and the users who come here would be interested to know there are major problems with the zedworld.co.uk website (and the links to same which are posted here) ??

Hi guys
Ive been trying to check out your Zedworld website but my browser/firewall is blocking your site as unsafe. Just thought you should know.

Hi guys, this sounds like a nice bit of kit.
Dont spose it over-rides the restricter on a JDM ?

. and will look out for you. What colour? I live in Bournville and work near Dartmouth circus. Still don't spot that many around town.
.
In respect of tyres servicing etc., i find i cannot beat Selly Oak tyres for price, service etc. and have also had full wheel laser alignment done there.
Had my first P1 done at Colliers Acocks Green but not sure i would go back there again. The P3 was done by the garage adjacent to selly oak tyres with all the service items, fluids etc. purchased from zmanalex. I know a few guys have used a firm near Coleshill called zedworld i think, but thats the wrong side of town for me.
Enjoy the car and keep smiling
Hi John
Silver colour, Im on Pershore Road, I see a silver z passing by some mornings along Pershore Rd on the way to town?
-
Thanks all - Im not far from Selly Oak so thats a great tip I will pop along there and see them. Looked at the zedworld website but not much on there.
Due to the crappy weather i havent really got too personal with my z yet, hopefully its will be clear tomorrow or sunday so I can get the ramps out, get the wheels off, and have a good poke around. Im also going to try out the excellent looking window repair guide I dloaded from here.
Still have the musty aircon/heater smell, it is better since I tried an aircon bomb but still there. I sat it on the centre console between the seats and it seems to have sorted the top vents but still get the smell when using the bottom vents. Time to try another one for half release time in each footwell i reckon (gas mask ON lol)

A bit of aggro and expense to unmate it wirh his car, I am sure you COULD get it to work but don't see the logic... Also is it a Bose and does your JDM have a sub and rear speakers
Yes mate it is a Bose system in my car, with the sub and rear speakers
Two buckets - Hot or Cold Water

I always use hot for the wash and cold for the rinse cause that keeps the spots away !!
