  1. I would just like to say a big thank you to Mitz at Cougar Store this lunchtime for fitting my new Cobra Exhaust system on my 350z that sounds really nice. Appointment for fitting was at 1.00pm but i arrived some 50 minutes early, but at 1.10pm the job was done after Mitz had shuffled around a few other appointments and got me sorted asap, now i would also like to say any future upgrades i require i shall without hesitation go back to Mitz without a second thought. Guys on here and Mitz himself took the time to tell me about Exhaust options and i am internally grateful to all those that pointed me in the right direction and to Mitz Himself who's customer Care skills and friendly nature are a credit in this day and age. Absolutely amazing service from Mitz and all those involved with Cougar Store and anyone on here looking for a new exhaust system or other upgrades then Cougar as far as i am concerned as a customer then its a No Brainer because they are Quality of the highest order. Within seconds of enquiring about exhaust systems on here Mitz had sent me information, not only that he emailed me while i waited for it to arrive with further updates and with the answer to questions i had asked A brilliant Job by all involved at Cougar Store and especially Mitz and any future upgrades i know where i will be going,it was 87 miles from my house so a 200 mile return trip there or there abouts, tell you now it could be 500 miles i would still have done the distance. Many thanks Mitz and the staff once again and one day i may well return. Paul.
  2. Thanks guys for the help and advice and i will take stock and think about what i may or may not do,think I'm going to go with cougar if im honest as there price for what i want sounds pretty decent, add to the fact when i pm the guy he answered within seconds and that says a lot for me in this day and age. Lost count how many times i have emailed companies only for them not to bother replying or getting in touch a week later. Then we have the matter that the cougar exhaust is all Stainless so really its a no brainer . Funds are tight at present and i just had a set of Michelin super sports all round so it will be March when i get this done, hopefully in the meantime the exhaust will hold out .
  3. Im in Tewkesbury mate Gloucesstershire. Are you telling me you have replaced a perfectly good stock system and want to sell it.
  4. Thanks CS for the reply and have PM you back, also thanks Wackosr for your response and your price seems very good, but if your girlfriend thought it was loud then I'm going to get the same feedback from mine and to be honest i don't like these noisy exhausts systems . Thanks all the same.
  5. Hi all Got a 350z 04 Plate Auto and on saturday morning i heard a bit of a blow when firing up the car, took it to this formula one place in tewkesbury and was told the middle section where it meets the back section had corroded and blown on the join, seems it had been patched up before by previous owners. Was quoted £280 just for the middle section and was advised that the back section could also do with replacing as that was corroded at the join, price quoted for that was £490. SO anyone on here in the know can give me some recommendations as to where to go here because those prices seem a little over the top if you ask me,guys at this formula one place said it would be cheaper to get someone to make me a S/S pipe than to use them. I got know clue where to go apart from the usual high street places like etb,ats quick fit and the rest. I have seen a few posts on here about exhaust systems but I'm still none the wiser .
  6. I actually put a full set on yesterday £801 from ATS fitted. [MPSS] Thought i was driving a different Z on my way home. Some idiot who had traded the car to a garage in Bradford in his/her wisdom decided that a budget Sunny Tyre would serve the purpose well.........Oh my god. Told the dealer the Tyres were not what you put on a performance car and i tried in vain to drop him on the price as the car was very tidy apart from the tyres, managed to get £300 of the purchase price but i new from posts on here that the tyres were going to be around a £1000. Anyway with my new boots on and my dashboard lights now fixed I'm happy.
  7. Yeah rodgeevans i might do as you suggest but i am not paying nissan again for the work carried out today, when they showed me the problem they said that they can take the top one of and then the light will be alright, but im not convinced this car is now showing MPH on the clock even though i followed the mechanic and we set a speed of 60 and it seemed to be doing that. Not over keen on the speedo that is left to be quite frank and it makes me wonder why they put a replacement on it in the first place, might rig the tom tom up and see what that says regarding speed and see if this relates to the speedo. Cheers girnet for the heads up regarding zmanalex. To be honest when i think about its a daft design really and more things to go wrong, why produce a car that has its interior dash lights on on a glorious bright sunny day or any other day for that matter, surely the lights behind are going to fail at some stage and a lot quicker than when you have the option to put the interior lights on when its cloudy or getting dark. Also it does not look like a straight forward 5 minute job to change them either because it took the nissan guy with all the tools a good 30 minutes to dismantle the light panel on the dash to expose the problem.
  8. Well i went to Nissan £89 a hour as the light thing was doing my head in,after taking the 3 clocks out and checking the lights that was not the problem, what was the problem some previous owner in there wisdom bought one of these http://www.lockwoodi...tails-i715.html Stuck it over the top of the other one with super glue i may add which blocked of the light from the back, now i have removed this i am left with all the light getting through and can now see the speedo at night, but since he super glued the other one over the top its left quite a bit of mess so now i need to source another one. Nissan quoted me for the whole set of 3 clocks which they said was £1090 ..........Dream on . All i want is the overlay of the speedo or the 3 of them as long as its in MPH.
  9. Thanks Sarnie and roscopervis for the advise and i will take that on board Sarnie regarding the mods you suggest and the Remap, seems i am going to need a never ending budget getting all this work done. Sarnie any suggestions as to where is the best place to get these mods and the prices for them. What type of Exhaust system do you recommend for starters as i am convinced its not something i can get fitted at some local tyre/Batteries place thats for sure.
  10. They are obviously a more professional operation and as they say .......You pay your money you get your goods. Cheers Smudgedon My only problem i have going to Abbey is the massive driving distance, but saying that i drove 165 miles to get the car in the first place, also Abbey will do the car while i wait which is a nice touch.
  11. Never mind Kbeast35 but thanks for pointing it out, wish i had never mentioned the fact that other people besides Abbey and a few others are doing what they call remap at various different amounts of money . I only wanted the likes of yourself and others to say exactly how it is and why i should not consider cheaper places, all that has been confirmed and if i want anything done on the car then abbey it is for me. Cheers all for the information.
  12. Who said i was wasting £150 as i have already decided where i am going if i want a remap thanks to people like NeilMH and others. I came here for advice and thats why i mentioned other people and So called Companies offering the same products at a much cheaper rate,i also wandered why others have not taken that route but it seems not many are licensed to do it but claim they are. Nothing like a good Knowledgable forum and my question has been answered.
  13. Makes perfect sense to me mate........Decision made if wanting remap ..........Abbey................. Just need £100 worth of fuel to get there.
  14. I have heard amazing things regarding Abbey and this seems the place to go,having said that if you do a google search for a Remap of a 350z there seems to be many mobile/static places doing it for as little as £150. How good and how true these places are i don't honestly know unless i see others on here and other 350z forums who have had the work done,as of yet i have only seen people using Abbey even though i have seen customer comments from these mobile places that claim to do the same work.
  15. Thanks for the reply NeilMH appreciate your thoughts and views,to be honest the only reason i wanted a remap is because this is a Jap Import and i have heard that these are restricted on speeds to 112mph,people will say thats no big deal as you should not be driving at those speeds anyway but what is the point of having a performance car if you are going to drive it around like Miss Daisy. I don't know all the history regarding the car and previous owners may well have had it removed but i doubt it,suppose the only way to tell is hit the motorway on a quiet period and put my foot down to the metal and see what happens, had a GTO some years back that was restricted and i kind of remember some sort of pinging sound when i was doing around 110mph. When the time comes for a new Exhaust then i would fit something more suitable but for now i am more concerned that the car has a speed restricter on it and i really would like that removed, suppose my question was why pay £500 when there are many claiming they can do the same job for £150-£200. Just asking the question really and many on here seem to be singing the praises of Abbey Motorsport which for me are quite some miles away so thought i would ask if using some of the local remap places on the internet would be beneficial or not, after all there is a saying...........You Get what you pay for..........But then again we are just talking a laptop and some software program here to do a remap and i am guessing that they are basically all using the same program there or there abouts . Many thanks to all for your sound advice because i know absolutely nothing about mechanical aspects of these or any other performance cars.
  16. Thanks guys for the replies but i have to say I'm a little confused as to why i would want to change a perfectly good exhaust system and add the other bits some of you mention like a plenum spacer. What exhaust system should i add anyway and where do i get this fitted, would the exhaust fitter even know about this plenum spacer or what. Obviously i need to go to some specialist that deals with these sort of car parts and not the local garage ,exhaust and tyre place.
  17. Hi All I purchased a 350z on a 2004 plate a few weeks back tip/auto and there are a few issues i need to sort like a speedo light that i can not see at night and a few others. Anyway i am guessing that this car imported into the country from Japan has a speed restriction of 112 mph,now i don't know all the history and there is a possibility that previous owners have had this removed, since i have not blasted down the motorway above this speed is this the only way of knowing if its restricted. Now i have seen a few links on here talking about Abbey Motorsport and i have also emailed the guys there and they seem a really friendly bunch and have given me a price for the job which i have listed below in a paragraph from the email. Yes can remove the speed limter with a ECU remap; You can either just have the speed limiter removed but no tuning work for £240-00 inc vat Or we can carry out a remap in our dyno for a £402-00 inc vat, this includes remove the speed limiter. We normally gain around 10bhp and 10lbft of torque and remove the restriction in the lower 3 gears. We can carry out this work while you wait in our reception area.

  19. Why would i want to change the speedo when its just some sort of blurred none existence light problem, surely its just some bulb or fuse or something and changing the speedo just because the light does not work correctly seems a little drastic, besides i like the speedo.
  20. And any idea how i can find that thread please, think the easier solution is to go to Nissan if I'm honest as there does not seem to be anyone on here who has had a similar problem so I'm completely in the dark.[no pun intended]
  21. Im not good with anything regarding cars,i just drive them and anything mechanical i leave to people in the know, all this technology talk like cluster and stuff is way over my head,do you mean a new set of dashboard lights or something. While i am on the subject ..........I am right in saying that as soon as you put in and turn the ignition key on the interior dash board lights are suppose to light up and stay on even in the daytime.
  22. "http://i50.tinypic.c...om/245lr8y.jpg" Its even worse at night you can not see anything. Cheers DoggyRev
