Without jumping straight to PM Zmanalex, what are the options for buying a set of belts for my 06 Zed?

I had my P2 Service at Westover (Great Customer relations and everything expected) recently and got some advisories on some points (brakes and tyres mainly but I'm fairly happy with plans for that). The issue I had really was belts.

My AC belt (no idea where this should be) is gone, which would explain why my AC doesn't work anymore and my AUX and CAM belts are both shiney (I assume this is the lamination of the rubber prior to it braking).

So my question is: how much for a full set of belts? Is it worth buying them myself or going back to Westover and getting it all done?

Could I fit them myself (Or ZedShed it with enough bribery :-D)?

Or because it is the Cam Belt is it too big a task and should be back to Nissan?

Umm...I think thats it but any help would be greatly appreciated.

That's very cool Chris. Can't believe how long ago it was though. I loved it!

I was on Robot Wars in the early 00s with a friend of mine. His dad built Macerick for season 4 and then Rick in Season 5 and I got to watch the first time and joined them in the team for the second trip. I was about 12 though so a lot of it seems quite vague to me. Met Phillipa Forrester and Craig Charles though.

We did a tag team event that only made it to American TV as well and we won that!

I don't have photos though. Think the videos are on YouTube...

I'm a bit disappointed I must say. The sound of my car when I first got it was what really drew me in. Now I find that that was because the exhaust was going and it's going to change :-(

Liking the looks of the cobra though. Need to do some research an price finding I think.

First Off Sorry if this is in the wrong forum, but I really didn't know where it should have gone. Kind of overlaps a couple of areas.

So with Mrs E laid low by illness and today possibly being the nicest day of the year so far, I popped off to my parents to treat the Z to a nice clean. (They have a driveway and I Don't and many other reasons as to why I can't just do this at home.) So after getting the majority of the car cleaned up I thought about the exhaust that I am yet to identify so I tried to clean up the tips and such a bit to see if there were any markings etc. that I could see on them and whether that would tell me what I was potentially looking at.

Instead what I found was this.

I have no idea what's going on here but even I am pretty sure that's an MOT fail, it's quite a big crack!!

However the car does look nice and clean otherwise.

The Bose is only standard in the GT. (AFAIK)

I have the non-standard one out of my car. And the cage I think. Although I think the CD changer needs either a really good disc cleaner thing or laser stuff.

I'm in for tonight now. Hope it's a good'un.

I would be very tempted by this although as Keyser Buster and Humpy saw at the weekend my car isn't really in a state to be photo'd.

I may have to see if I have a busy day tomorrow but could come down and just stay out of the way of any cameras!

Massive thanks to Buster today. Took my motor down to Zed Shed 2 and Bob did a fantastic job making what appeared to be a crazy massive day long slog happen in about an hour.

So now I've got a Pioneer AVH-2400BT and it is absolutely fantastic.

Although, it is another day where I learnt that I will have to use all the willpower I have (not a lot) to attempt to hold off the inevitable Zeditis. It's not working...

I'll add some photos when I've got some light and my camera to take some pics. There's a bit of a bonus too, I have been tagged with a Shed sticker!

Basically, I'm very confused and getting more lost as I try and dig through this forum.

I've bought my new Head Unit, as I'm bored of the radio and I'm pretty sure Mrs E isn't too bothered about listening to the engine on long journeys. (CDs no longer work properly in my car)

It's this Pioneer HU I've bought http://www.halfords....tegoryId_265857 (AVH-2400BT)

I've got a 2006 Non GT Zed, It isn't BOSE and has steering wheel controls...what else is it I need to buy to keep the steering wheel controls with my new head unit (even if it is just Volume and Seek).

I'm not going all out on ICE just yet so it is still using the standard speakers in the car and obviously I won't be bypassing the handbrake for the DVD player as that would be irresponsible .

Any help on this would be most appreciated. Thanks

I get this occasionally. Just try doing it again when you're shown that screen. That works for me.

I don't think I've ever actually had no new content. This place is so quick and so full of helpful chatty people that there is always new stuff.

I bought my 06 (not GT) this year for 8k from a dealer but I had a car to part x and got a little over 3k for that. 58k miles. 8months MOT but practically no tax. I was happy as I hadn't found anything that new from a dealer in my price range until that point.

We've had some pretty rubbish weather here too. I thought it was probably stone/grit chips until I realised one is a bit too far back.

I've had two of these appear recently in my roof of all places. Need to get them sorted before more rain sets in. Little bit worried about using a fibreglass pen on a car I've barely had 2 months :-/

I can only say the same again. Awesome to meet people and put names to faces (and usernames). Hopefully can do it again in the future
