Congrats on the purchase of your Zed. As has already been said this was a common problem and there is a sticky showing you how to fix it if you can't get it done under warranty.

I've had a couple of repairs done on my Azure blue Zed by Matty at SBS and was really pleased, not only by the way he'd blended the paint but also the price. He's based on the Avon Industrial Estate, Rugby. If you need more info PM me.
I have no affiliation with him other than the fact he's worked on mine and my stepfathers cars and was recommended by a mate.

Welcome to the forum, lets hope some members closer to you will help you decide whether its worth going for.

I've been thinking about getting one of these for a while now, I've just bought and fitted a new catback exhaust and also a pair of front tyres both of which were needed for its MOT, so now my Doctor has confirmed that the best treatment for my chronic case of Zeditis is the purchase of the throttle controller which he Azures me (pun intended) will relieve my symptoms for a brief period. Thanks Hodaka for a concise and easily understandable write up, a good job well done.

It still amazes me just how many people who have no idea what car it is

OUCH, both for the damage and the hellish cost of your insurance premium. Hope you get it sorted. There are some real d***heads about.

I like the look of it and it goes well with the louvres, myself, I'd leave it black so it ties in with the louvres and you'd obviously have to get rid of the OEM lip. You'd perhaps need to fabricate any wedges/spacers to get I to sit at a suitable angle but yeah I'd crack on and get it fitted.

Hey, welcome to the forum and I hope you get your ceiling sorted out soon.

Hey John, welcome again, lets hope you pull the trigger this time. Happy hunting. All of the information you've mentioned is here on the forum and its basically down to your budget.

HI and welcome to the forum. Congrats on the purchase of a very tidy Zed. As Gus says the basics are just the start. You've also got the Cougarstore in Leicester which have a fantastic reputation regarding all things Zed, from parts, services and repair work.

Mack, you have a PM

Did you give Mark a free reign to do his thing or did you have specific ideas as to what you wanted the end result to look like??

You could always fit new brushes as its these being worn that cause the failure. You could also try cleaning out the motor as its bound to be full of muck and crap but this will only be a short term fix. A set of brushes will set you back the extortionate sum of.........£5.
-
What do they look like fitted and how are they wearing?
-
Easiest way to paint that is to use a cocktail stick and slowly build the paint up. It might take a little longer but you'll end up with a better result IMO.

I wouldn't go to halfrauds, they mixed a pot of Azure Blue B17 using their computerised gismo and to be honest my dog could have done a better job. You could try the Nissan branded touch up kit from your dealer but to be honest the best colour match I've found is the paint my mate bought from PPG when repairing a deep scratch that some scumbag did with keys.

I really love the detail that has gone into the engine bay, I've never seen the engine bay of a Zed with so many original touches and the quality of the work is of a fantastically high standard. What a work of art.

Welcome to the forum and yeah, there's plenty of helpful bedtime reading that you can be doing.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase of your Zed. Regarding your tyre issue, I suppose a lot depends on the type of driving you're going to be doing e.g. track days, spirited fast roads or using your Zed as your daily driver and are after a good all round tyre that doesn't generate too much noise.
-
As,Zeezeebaba mention, it might be a good idea the night before drowning the bolts with penetrating oil just to help them on their way.
-
Is it related to a certain speed or get more frequent with more speed? Does the condition of the road surface have any baring on the clicking at all? Could it be failing/worn front drop links?
-
Hey welcome and congratulations on what sounds like a pretty tidy purchase (rear tyres excepted). Glad to hear you're enjoying it.
-
Yeah, simple slippage, one of my 200SX's used to howl like a banshee especially on cool/cold damp mornings. As pretty much everyone has said, just tighten them a little but also take a few minutes to check what sort of condition they're in, more so if you don't know when they were last replaced.

Happy to read that you've fixed it and are now driving around in a sorted Zed with the added bonus that you fixed it yourself. Here's to driving plenty of miles with plenty of smiles
