Thanks everyone for the advice! Was my font really that small? I must had zoomed in on my browser page somehow lol (sorry).
I have done some research on the garage, but I can't find any reviews. I'm sure they are very capable, but I just want to be sure its going to be done right.
I have just noticed that Nissan quoted for a 370z Base Model, aren't the doors different on the Nismo?
While I'm on the subject of a body shop, can anyone recommend a decent one near Essex/London?

I am absolutely gutted and fuming to say the least. Some idiot went into my lane without looking and smacked into the side of my 370z. Its insured with Admiral who have given me a recommended garage, but I am a little hesitant to just allow anyone to repair it. The last thing I need is someone filling in my dents to keep the price low for the insurers. This is my first claim so I don't really know how well their recommended garages are?!
Can anyone recommend what I should do or consider while in this situation? I have gone to Nissan and asked for a detailed quote so I know what parts need to be replaced.

Afternoon,
I was a little disappointed with the sound of my Nismo when I picked it up in October, I expected a sexier noise.
Can anyone recommend an alternative that goes with the cars style and sounds decent? At the end of the day, I don't want it to sounds like a saxo flying down the road, I want it to sound like a performance car.
Also where I can get it fitted?

Louise have you spoken to the dealer to find out what is happening they should know by now? My BMW has got to be back at the dealership before the end of October or I will lose money on it so Nissan want to pull there finger out soon, going to give them a call at the start of October to chase as come mid October and still nothing I will be seeing what BMW's are in stock.
Well that was a stupid last comment as I should just sit and wait for the car as I am actually looking forward to getting it.
Sorry I was too excited when I got mine and completely forgot about the rest of the world. Yes I got it, it took over two months but it was worth the wait. Love Love Love it. Because it is a special order, Nissan dont really know how long it takes to get one, so they estimate a time of arrival by going on all the other cars they sell. Nismos come straight from Japan and does take a while to get to the UK.

Looks angry and aggressive, love it
few small plans...
1. change the nissan badges for black Z. (currently in my shed)
2. visit maybe rt-performance to see if they can wrap/paint the doorhandles black.
3. POSSIBLE exhaust upgrade later in the year
4. POSSIBLE 10mm spacers but doubtful I will do this as I don't want to change the cars geometry at all as I love the set up.
5. POSSIBLE rear window and side rear tints.
6. 100% some form of cat sticker on the car.
Where did you get your badges from? I need to change mine when it finally arrives. Did you get the handles wrapped/painted? I really don't understand why Nissan do them silver, looks cheap.
Does anyone know how long the process is when ordering one from Japan? When we purchased it back in June, they said we should expect it before September. Still waiting :'(
Well I ordered mine in July and they told me it would be 16 weeks which I worked out would be mid November and when I spoke to the dealer the other day they said they had a delivery date of the 10th November to the dealership.
What colour did you order? As the waiting times for a black one was about 6 weeks and 10 weeks for a white one.
Oh that's a touch. The Nissan we bought it from didn't really have a clue about 370s, they had only just started selling them at that showroom.

Do you mean you're having the black accents painted the same colour as the body? Seems a shame - I don't think the American Nismo looks nearly as good with that look but as you say, it's a personal choice
I certainly do! haha! I love the American Nismo, an absolute beaut.
Looks gorgeous, I love the red but wasn't an option at the time
RT-Performance, don't waste time and money trying others, just had my front bumper rebuild, roof, mirrors and wings resprayed, check my build thread in my signature.

Hi all,
My 370z Nismo will be here in September and I would like someone to colour code the fascias and rear spoiler. The last thing I want is an orange peeled Z.
Can anyone recommend a decent sprayer in or around Essex? I am willing to go further if its worth the trip.
If anyone has done this and have pictures, I would love to see them.

It's always interesting I think seeing what a woman's take is on modifying ~ like Amy's 350 Zed on here, totally unique to her.

I got a new 370Z GT for £26,000 three months ago, discounted from £32,000. Friend of mine works for Nissan and he can supply one car a year at employee rates. Not sure if it helps but perhaps a guide.

In terms of the gear change and clutch being clunky the 370 and 350 are very similar, better but similar. The biggest issue though is the exhaust. I had a brand new 370 for 2 weeks as a courtesy car and the lack of noise really put me off the car, in fact i loved my 350 even more when i got back in it. Keep that in mind, but with a aftermarket exhaust i was smiling my head off and the world was well again
I have heard a lot of people complaining about the exhaust. Its a shame really as people are paying £40k for a performance car and it doesn't even sound like one. The sound is part of the experience! But as you said, an aftermarket exhaust is an option.

Weird what different people like about the same car, I love the fact that the clutch and gearbox feel very mechanical
Don't get me wrong, when you put your foot down, it's fine! The car just wasn't built for commuting sensibly

I think I might go for a new one, all depending on the "trade price". At least then I know there isn't any history to worry about. I'm hoping I won't be disappointed when I test drive one, the thing I dislike most on the 350 is the clunky clutch.

I've never had it from strangers, then again I'm a woman so its very rare I get unprovoked abuse from fellow drivers.
I've had snide comments from male friends before, but I think that's just because me having a more powerful engine makes their balls feel smaller.

Factory price wouldn't be in excess of £40k, retail price would be.

Thanks again for everyones help. i have spoken to the referred by Admiral and they have said they will replace all the damage with Nissan parts instead of repairing it. They said they wouldn't even think of doing a filler job with the type of car it is. So I am going ahead with that. lol I have asked my insurers for a like for like hire car, but if they w*nker denies fault, then I wont be entitled to one
