  1. I had no idea, so I looked it up on a Land Rover site  Too complicated for me...and the etiquette is mind numbing...for goodness sakes

Whatever you take from this article, general consensus is you're probably not going to get a wave back from most new model Range Rover's, Sports, Freelander 2's e.t.c unless of course they happen to be a big Landy fan (it happens). Conserve your waves for every other Land Rover. I think it's safe to say we should include Discovery's (up to, but not including Mark 4) and Range Rover Classics. Be cautious of D3 drivers, way them up a little first. Is this been used as a Chelsea Tractor or part of the ever growing Disco 3 offroading scene. We Defender and Series drivers need to set the lead here, perhaps we can make the RR and Disco owners feel part of fold, after all these are proven vehicles and Solihull through and through.

If you see a council Land Rover (or YEDL, Water, Electricity Board e.t.c) you're probably not going to get a wave. Most of these drivers seem oblivious to the tradition and either don't see you, choose to ignore you or look completely confused as they rack their brains wondering if they know you. Don't exclude them though, because we know the National Grid driver of our 90 may have liked Land Rover's. You may well be able to gauge if you're getting a wave back or not, if you see them looking and hesitating, go for it! If you a series vehicle (I, II, IIA, III) then these should get a very enthusiastic, extra large wave. After all, these are the ancestors of the modern lines and people who run them are big Landy nuts. That's extra credit in our book. We're not going to go into wave types, this forum post covers these greatly, as well as another possible origin of the wave. Even if tongue in cheek it presents some very valid information.

  2. I don't really want to go grooved/drilled/dimpled.

Can I ask why? I don't have any experience with technology behind brakes and such but I would assume they be much better then without, unless its just for cost? I will be replacing my disks and pads soon and was going to go that route.

    Thanks

  3. My 2003 JDM is lovely and smooth at low revs, my clutch biting point is very low though (actually pretty scarily low).

I find it harder to keep it smooth on higher biting clutches in different cars, not sure why.

I suppose you would call my shift from first to second slow when travelling in traffic, it's hard to explain in text but I think you just need to take the shift slower, just don't ride the clutch.

It plays on my mind being getting hit with the stigma of that young jerk in a nice looking car and hahhaa look at him bunny hopping down the road and in any car, it's very embarrassing, worse then a stall.

  4. Cheers guys, I'll be steering clear of that one

OK the ad is wrong and if the the car is otherwise sound that could be a good negotiating point especially if, like many, you wanted to change the Bose and are not bothered by cloth seats that you could/might also want to change aside from being lighter. ;)

    Just for thoughts

I was thinking the same, but the engine is seized and it's cat c, flood damage apparently but the guy reckons no water went in the floors which I find hard to believe and he's pretty sketchy with any other details I request.

Looked at it as a nice 08 plate 350z for about 8k when finished but it doesn't really seem worth the risk to open pandoras box.

  5. Am I right in thinking this car is NOT a GT model due to the lack of leather seats and the cruise control settings on the steering wheel?

I also noticed the top cover on the 'rear brace thingy in the boot' was only a carpet material, no aluminium 350z logo etc

  6. Mid pipe or back box disconnected?

    :bang: @*!#... Too easy...

Centre pipe & backbox off :thumbs:

Going to be cutting the backbox up tomorow & pull some of that extra JDM wadding stuff out of the top, might free it up a little.

    Didnt sound that loud?

It must be my young tender ears

  7. Can't wait to jump on after a few beers tonight and try and catch up with some of you lot now that it appears I won't be doing zed fest.

I've spent a few hours every night this week trying to get to the location but it didn't go to plan, had some great experiences though and loved every minute of it.

I have a small 8 man team speak 3 server that doesn't really get used so if you lot fancy jumping on there feel free, pm me for the address and details.

  8. I've had my Zed a few weeks now and I love it to bits, it needs some tlc but that's why I bought it, to get to know the cars better and gain knowledge, plus it makes the car feel like its really mine afterwards.

But I'm still hunting around looking at other Zeds, I almost hit the buy it now button again last night....

    What does this mean? :blink::blink:

  9. I started playing it last week actually, it's very fun but can also be very rage inducing at times.

Great game after a few beers :drunk:

What's the best way to get a group together? Steam? (pm'd you my steam name anyway)
