Would not go for a Porsche, far too many of them round our way, we call them Canford Cliffs Cortinas, purchased purely for the badge not the driving abilities, I prefer to be a little different so would look at Maserati, Aston Martin, TVR, Noble or even a Dodge Challanger Hemi.

Cracking good choice of his and her cars.

Thanks vansman
Those problems don't sound great to be honest
but it appears that girls do love their Minis, no matter what!
Its really only the warning lights on all the time thats a pain for us, the door locking does not really effect it too much but the early ones can be prone to all sorts of niggling problems so better to go for as new a one you can afford. Have heard stories of early ones that unlock themselves and open the windows and roof.
Oh I forgot, the seats can before stuck in upright position because the racket mech in the seat backs f***s up, this is a pain as new seat frames are around 300.00, there is a way to get them working again but its a bit brutal, worked on ours though when the seats did get stuck upright.

My other half has a Cooper, main problems we have:
Central locking only locks and does not un-lock the doors.
ABS, Traction and low tyre pressure warning lights always on, at last mot nearly £800 spent to replace speed sensors, front hub etc, lights stayed off for 2 months and then back on again been like this for nearly two years now on & off.
Its an auto and when reversing it can become very jerky and juddery but she still loves it to bits.

Unless you purchase your Super from a forecourt with a very high turnover of product, it is more than likely that the Super you put in your tank has actually evaporated so much on it's "light ends" that, it is in fact no longer 97/98 RON but much less.

Tried to pop over to nissan aldershot to see if would change my mind in the flesh but they didnt have one, just lots of gtrs.
Personally I have always disliked the rear 3/4 view around the arches to the hatchback and small side window, to me the rear wings too large to what they should be but this nismo version does look the nuts, with the body kit etc.

Nice spot, you will have to card him

There are so few sites for petroleum companies to load Super unleaded these days that in most cases its all the same, I see on a daily basis, Shell, Murco, Sainsbury, etc etc etc come into our site to load, its the magic of marketing if you think its all different.
Hmmmm which terminal you at mate, I plan loads for Texaco.

15 months of ownership and I still look at the reflection in shop windows

It was not driver error but suspension failure, still a blow when your looking to compet for 24 hrs and the cars out only a few hours into it.

I was there for that one, it was one of Bob's RJN Motorsport cars and a right mess.
-
Actually, I think that looks rather good.

Both the Cobra systems, resonated and non resonated are louder than the Scorpion system...
I can vouch for the non resonated Cobra system, quiet enough around town not to draw attention, does not drone at all and plenty loud enough when you put your foot down, excellent value for money.

Ferndown, Dorset - approx 7 miles from Bournemouth
Only 7 miles and it took me nearly an hour via Lyndhurst, loving the sound, need to find a tunnel now!

Little visit to the Zedshed this evening for fitment of my new Cobra exhaust, top job by Keyser and Buster, were waiting ready for me to arrive, car in the shed and up on axle stands, before I knew it, new exhaust, sounding bloody brilliant I must say, so much so that it took me nearly an hour to drive home.
Thanks again Chris and Bob for your help and deffo need my pads doing now before the rears lock up on me.

Ekona, I understand what you are saying about Porsche as drivers cars but these days unless you do track days, you cant exploit the cars full abilities and stay within the speed limit etc and IMO if your into track days then the choice is a Caterham or similar. My needs and desire is to have something a little different to drive and as good as a Porsche is, I would not choose to follow the pack but have something different, poseur car or not, actually I always fancied myself as a poseur!
