  1. Hi guys This tyre choice is really winding me up. I have bigger wheels than the standard rays on my GT zed. Fronts are 245/40/19 and the rears 275/35/19. The wheels are mania racing. When I got the car it had falkens all round. The rears were replaced by my garage without consulting me. They put a set of accellera things on for £300. And they are like being on ice! Even in the dry they slide, traction control comes on etc! Fronts have a bit of life still left in them but not much. I have two problems. 1. The tyres seem to wear on the inside edge. 2. I don't want to potentially pay £800-900 to have the same problem. Took the car to kwik fit today and they said kwik fit now owns falken. But they don't make the 275/35 tyre anymore. The cheapest quote was for Pirelli corsa tyres all round with free fit and wheel alignment to make sure they don't scuff again. I'm happy to spend the cash if it solves the problem. I can't enjoy the car at the moment as its scary to drive. Ideas?
  2. Yes, the Bose units do have a tendancy to skip, if you do a search you will find lots of info about it. New pads, rotors and brake fluid should make a difference. No harm in giving the car a service, at least you know where you're at then. Sounds like a plan. I am pretty handy and so think I will do the work myself. I have found the guides pretty helpfull on here and can't see a problem doing the diff, gearbox and coolant flush. Especially as a friend has a pit I can use. Done the oil, filter, disks and pads loads of times on other cars. It's funny because the more I use the car the better it drives. Done about 500miles in it in the last 10 days and its really freeing off. The girlfriend has to go to London so might give it to her to get another 400m in.
  3. Yes that would have been me. Althought only had it for 2/3 weeks now.
  4. I'm actually in fallowfield south Manchester. Although I do also spend alot of time in Blackpool at the girlfriends. The car is grey, orange tan leather and black and chrome 19" wheels ;-)
  5. Hi guys, Well straight off into the questions.... Firstly the cd player skips all the time? Also even though the car is low mileage and is well serviced up I was thinking of getting a p3 service done just to be sure it's all ok. Is this overkill? Does anybody know a good specialist around Manchester? And lastly these big Brembo brakes only seem mediocre. Looking at the old mot's it's only done a few thousand miles in the last few years. Dont the discs rust and ruin the pads if stood? Maybe replace the discs and pads aswell?
  6. Hi everybody I'm Richard and after months of looking have bought my first japanese sports car. I did have an Alfa 147gta 4 years ago and which was the worst piece of motoring junk anybody could ever buy. It was never off a transporter and I knew the AA man personally after owning it. It cost me a fortune and ended up in the small claims court at one point! Safe to say this severely tainted my sports car ownership desires somewhat. Anyway, 4 years on I think I have done things properly. I have a 2004 350z coupe, 46k and one owner from new. It's immaculate and was purchased off a fantastic bloke that was actually in his 60's! Already has 19" mania racing alloys, full manga flow exhaust and a piper cross induction kit. Had it for a week now and love it to bits. So that's me! Cheers Richard
