So to sum up, different dealers are different, and its best to call at least 2 hours in advance and not to look a tramp.
TBH, I dont know what the difficulty is in phoning and telling them you want a drive and asking when that would be possible is ............ parajack, I bet if you phoned whatever dealer it was now and told them youd like to drive a 370 in 3 hours or so they would be more than happy to let you
lol I never go anywhere looking like a tramp, the watches I wear for everyday use are worth more than the average person earns in a month...or more Obviously the Audi guy knows his watches and that's why he offered the TTS drive without the need to book in lol

Can't say anything different from what others have already said.
Saturday they turned up unannounced, and just let themselves in, my sister and her boyfriend were sat on the sofa unaware.
Good job they were just sitting on the sofa and not getting a bit steamy on it!!!

I took a BRZ out for a test drive which is basically the same as the GT86, I had to overtake a tractor whilst out on the test, it took forever to get past!!! Not a car that fills you with confidence when you need power instantly! When I got home I looked up the 0-62 time...7.6 seconds...that's not a sports car worth £28K.

the TTS lost out to the BMW
What was your main reason for that then and how did you find Z4 ownership as a whole? I had crossed it off my list, but I still do like them! I was looking at the 30i sDrive.
What gets me with the TT in general, it just doesn't feel as much like a sports car as some others do when you're not flat-out - pottering about in one feels identical to pottering about in a hatchback.
Yeah I know what you mean, until I booted it, it didn't feel Grrrrrr stay away lol , that's why I love the look of the 370, just parked up it looks like if you go too close it will rip your head off and eat it
Thanks for your input...even more to think about now

I went to look at a 2011 370Z today in a Nissan dealership, he was a nice enough guy and I told him that I'd got my long list of cars down to the 370Z and the Audi TTS! I thought at this point he'd throwing brochures/prices/deals/keys at me and basically doing everything he could to get me into the 370! He opened the car so that I could look inside but then shocked me when he said "I'd take you out in it but it's showing empty on the fuel"....I found this rather strange after I had just told him I'm choosing between the last two cars on my list! I then asked a few general questions about the car and was told "I don't know a lot about these as we don't sell many". I also asked if they do PCP deals on used 370's, he said no!!! Which I find a bit odd. I left feeling like he didn't want to sell me the car!
I then went to Cheshire Oaks Audi, I told the guy in there the same thing about being down to the last two cars in my list, I also told him that I was looking at used cars and not new, he took a few details and then vanished for a few minutes! He then came back with the keys for a brand new TTS so that I could take it out and see if I like it! We were out for a good 30 minutes going along motorways/A roads/B roads/country lanes 'to experience the car on all road types' (his words), when we got back he did a quick PCP quote on the new one and gave me that, a brochure and his card....no pressure sales, he just said "If you need anymore help just ask". I was astonished by how helpful he was and the fact that there was no pressure sales during the drive or after, when I got home I'd received an email from him thanking me for taking the time to test drive their TTS!
So here is where I am
Audi TTS: sales are great, build quality inside is nicer than the 370, very fast car and nice to drive.
Nissan 370z: sales don't want to know, the outside is just the dogs nuts I can't stop staring at it lol, the drive??? I don't know.
I love the look of the 370 and nothing comes close to it, but if the before sales is so bad, what would the after sales be like if you need them???

Just a heads up mate, be careful where you post Autotrader links! There are some unscrupulous people on the net that may get your address and wait for you to get the car, then come and take it! You should use a blag postcode in your search before you post the links.
Reason: F******n ***ve, Banstead see what I mean?
PS: Don't worry I'm not one of the above

why does the quote of 1 lady driver mean that the car is going to be excellent "just because of that" - in my experience (and seeing what some of you sprinkles get up to here) - I'd run a mile if I saw an advert like that
of course the clutch will be buggered, the engine oil starved and there won't be any juice in the windscreen scooshers
it certainly looks mint
You forgot that all 4 wheels will be kerbed!

A guy I know that works for a VW dealership told me that when they were getting rid of the last lot of the R32's they were selling them new for £18k....don't know how true that is!?!?! I've since seen 09's in main dealers for just under that!

OK cheers guys, it's just that a sales guy from Nissan said that the manual was a 'bit heavy going for around town'! The fact that he was showing me a manual led me to ask the question here
-
"You can't shoot him, they'll know it was a gun" WTF?!?! If you like watching bad acting watch the new series on Sky called Sinbad
-
So which is the easiest to live with and which is more desirable? (Most driving will be in and around town).
Also, from a "has the owner before me screwed it all the time" view, is getting an auto less likely to have problems than a manual....hope you understand where I'm coming from?!?! but what I mean is with an manual someone could hit the rev limiter all the time, in an auto you can't...or I'm I way off the track here?
Thanks

her words......"its only a wheel"
And that instantly made it 10 times worse! I imagine your blood pressure went through the roof at that point

OMG when I saw scratch in the thread title I was expecting a small touch up job!
Did you report it to the police? As another member asked are there any CCTV cameras in the local area? Did anyone get the name of the company on the side of the wagon? The chances are he may not have even known he had hit you, then when he got back to his depot noticed damage on his truck and wondered where it had came from. I used to drive class 1's and one of our guys flipped a car over on a roundabout and didn't notice a thing, the car came straight out of the slip road and just clipped his back end.
Hope you get it sorted either way.

My dealer suggested slamming the door to see it that would work - classic advice (it didn't!!!)
lmao makes you think what they get up to when you leave your car with them doesn't it?!?!?!
I bought a brand new car a few years back, after a few days the electric side mirror stopped working, I took it in and they fixed it. However! whilst doing it they managed to scratch the paint on the inside of the door, he showed me and I hit the roof his reply was "It's OK you can't see it when the door is closed" it was at that point I went a bit psycho on the guy Needless to say they sorted it
-
I have been thinking exactly the same as you mate, I do like the 350 but I prefer the 370! I feel if I went for the 350 now I'd be getting second best. (No offence to 350 owners).

A few weeks back I caught one of my alloys on the kerb, not sure how or when as I never felt anything! Anyway, repair costs = £50. That was the first time in 24 years!!! So for me (going off past experience) unless I'm going to keep my car 24 years it's not cost effective
Shocking Nissan HPC experience West Way Manchester
