  1. Sorry to hear about your accident. To put a positive spin on things, I've crashed 2 cars (one ten years ago when I was 18, the other 5 years ago) and while it does take you a while to get your confidence back I think it's actually made me a better driver. The first obvious point is you're more careful in bad conditions. The second is that now you've experienced losing the back end you will be able to deal with it better if it ever happens again. A few months back I was driving my friends MX5, going -60mph on an A road and a young driver pulled out of a junction (turning right) in front of me. He saw me, panicked and braked - this was the worst thing he could have done as if he kept going I could have swerved on his inside but he left me no option but to swerve on the grass verge on the outside. As soon I passed him I swung the car back to the left, 360 in the middle of the road and ended up stopped with no damage to the car. Now I believe if I hadn't had the experience of a crash or two under my belt I would have panicked and ploughed straight into him. Of course this could have just been luck, but I believe when you've been beyond the limit of any car you understand how to deal with it in future.

  2. Got my G1 kit the other day from eBay. Just waiting for the weekend now and a dry day to apply it. Has ironically been raining here in Wales all week.

Heh nice. The main thing is preparing the windscreen properly first. Give it a good deep clean before using the polish.

I would highly recommend using super fine (0000) steel / wire wool. It may sound odd rubbing your windscreen with this but trust me it won't scratch and it really gets all the marks off.

  3. Under the Sale of Goods Act and Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumer Regulations

    Refunds

If a car is defective, unsafe or otherwise doesn't conform to its description, the Sale of Goods Act and the Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations (SOGA/SSGCR) give you rights across Europe to a refund, particularly if the fault occurs soon after buying, but also if there are problems a bit later on and there are unreasonable delays in getting the vehicle repaired or replaced. It's still best to complain about problems as soon as possible.

    Repair and replacement

When you buy a defective car, repairs must not cause you significant inconvenience and the seller must bear all the costs. You can require the seller to reduce the purchase price if repairs or other remedies are unrealistic in a reasonable period of time.

Note that if you buy through an auction that you have – or could have – attended in person, your rights to refunds, repairs and replacements are more limited. These limitations don't apply to internet and telephone auctions.

    Warranties and guarantees

After any warranty or guarantee period, or after six months, you might have to prove that any defect existed before you purchased. Guarantees are transferable to subsequent buyers.

  4. I turn on the Mrs seat in the summer if she's doing my nut in :)

Yep, used to do this to most of my passengers. Watch them squirm in their seat wondering why their ass is hot. A rather grotesque friend of mine didn't say anything for half an hour, just looked a bit uncomfortable. When I confessed to turning on his heated seat he said" ah thank f*ck, I thought I'd s*at myself"

  5. Silly question again but whats it like driving a lhd?

Took a week of getting used to, overtaking isn't really a problem but your position on the road/in your lane is the hardest part for me. Some junctions can be a bit tricky, glad I decided not to get window louves fitted! Odd for passengers I'm told!

  6. Which springs did you go for... :)

Ford Racing ones I found brand new in the UK on ebay. More for visual than performance. They were fitted before I drove it so can't comment on performance, but it certainly makes the car look more aggressive :)

  7. I'm always honest lol. Not negative mate honestly it's just about taste/opinion but the rest of it is just awesome. Tbh I never realised they where so plush on the inside.

Any mods planned or you going to just keep it as is.

Well the inside was vastly improved when I put in those custom made mats. Already:

    Lowered the suspension

    Fitted a new exhaust (backbox)

    Cut the aerial down

    Painted my callipers

The radio has an aux button but no aux input so may take it out to fit one if I can find the required adapter cable cheap. Been researching fitting a grill like the one on the GT (V8) version, with the fog lights fitted, but I am happy with this as in just now.

Apart from that the only other thought is the Mustang owners greatest struggle, to stripe or not to stripe. Decals, by all accounts, aren't worth it as they need replaced every couple of years and painted stripes are expensive. TBH I don't think stripes would suit my colour of car but I may change my mind down the road!

  8. I'm guessing the Meguiars tech wax 2.0 stuff I currently use is a bit in between the wet wax and hard wax then since it's also in a bottle? Will have to look in to hard wax now!

Autoglym HD wax is a good wax. Quite expensive but lasts a long time. Dodo juice is also nice but you'll probably have to source it online.

  9. Only thing is I know those old wheels where gash but those te37 type ones don't really do it any favours IMO of course. Other than that its pristine!

My criteria was deep dish, not black or silver, under 600 quid. I actually never realised they were TE37 "copies" until they were installed and then it clicked. (My Z had TE37s) Maybe that's why I was drawn to them. Yours is the first negative comment I've had; I appreciate your honesty.

  10. I have found the few aqua waxes I have used take nearly as long to use as "proper" wax and don't give the same quality finish or protection. I understand your frustration with the rain, however you really still need it to be dry to remove any wax. The only advantage of the aqua is you can apply wet.
