Thanks Martin. Yes, that was the chap I had in mind. Not the same car though, so it's not the bloke I have been talking to.
The model of car I currently own are often cheap to buy but can be really expensive to run if you buy the wrong one.
This means that the people who have nice examples tend to have armfulls of paper history going back years, receipts to support service book stamps, all previous MOTS, maintenance by specialists etc. Quite a few of the cars I've looked at are serviced by the local Nissan dealer, don't have all the MOTs, slightly incomplete documentation history etc.
Am I being too paranoid? Is it the case that, given we are talking about Nissan here, there are not a plethora of things that might be about to go wrong and that therefore specialist servicing and anal paperwork is just not as common.
Have I (i) just not found the right car yet or (ii) I'm shopping at the less expensive end of the market and although they are nice cars they are not the best of the marque.
Any thoughts welcomed.
