  1. So Facelift lights shouldn't have orange lights?

Face lift lights have orange led's at the top side, instead of the orange reflective strip. People are confusing what is lit, and what is reflective.

    :yahoo:

Thought I had pre-facelifts on an 07 for a minute and thought it was a front end damage sign.

    I was thinking on LEDs!

  2. Running 40 profile with no probs.

Running 245/45/18 and 235/40/18 on the front no problems whats so ever. Ive done more than 20k miles on them too. Im replacing them for 225/40/18s as they are a hell of a lot cheaper. I personally havent found any of this traction control problems alot of people bang on about. Maybe my car is different?

Clearly you've never understoon any of the posts I've made explaining how TC works then? You are not finding any problem as your difference in percentage terms of rolling radius front to rear keeps the stagger that the TCS expects. Should you run tyres with the same rolling radius front to rear you will understand what we are talking about.

As for the OPs original question, yes you can run a 40 profile. I did on my 18s on the 350z as Falkens have somewhat soggy sidewalls and I was recommended to do so. You need to keep the OEM front to rear stagger in rolling radius though. So use 40 profile all round and you'll be fine AFAIK, but keep to staggered widths such as 225F and 245R.

    Thanks for the info

On the point that the miles will rack up faster, how much difference are we talking?

E.g. for every ten miles on the odometer, the smaller profile tyres will only travel XX miles.

  3. Running 40 profile with no probs.

Just out of interest, is it a DE or an HR?

    An example:

    Falken 452

    40 profile: £75inc

    45 profile: £104inc

Obviously the tyres are the only things that keep you on the road, but I know on some cars there are a few different sizes you can use, so was just wondering.

  4. I was asking a genuine question, just cause he has a massive post count doesn't mean he can bully newbs.

Either way, he is firmly on the ignore list.

  5. That post says that it is a difference greater than advised so you take your chances...

To be honest and not nasty if the OP is looking to cut corners and cost on tyres then they need a cheaper to run car....

    Lol

I love this new phrase on car forums.

"If you can't afford X buy a cheaper car" :yuck:

So you would advise a Lambo owner to pay £3k for a replacement headlight for a Diablo when the same headlights are available for £300 from Nissan?

I was just asking a question to see if its viable, no need to make such jumping conclusions.

I guess you always use Nissan dealers and all OEM Nissan parts?

  6. What would the damage be for using a 40 inch profile instead of a 45 on standard Rays alloys?

They are significantly cheaper, and was just wondering if it was worth the saving?

    Thanks!
