  2. I'm still confused why it costs some people 90 odd quid to fill up and for me on next to no petrol left, its only ever cost me 70 max!

Thats because you're fuel sensor is dirty, like mine and many others. It'll show as empty with a good few gallons left in it.

That makes sense as mine is definitely a UK model. Tbh its still pretty reliable (even though its not quite correct) so I'll probably leave it unless its easy to clean it?

  4. Well I have to say this mitt seems fantastic. I would say my paint is now the best its been since ownership!

As a tip I would say that you really don't need to apply much pressure and if you give it too much the clay can come away from the mitt but its fine if you're careful.

  5. I was thinking wash, tar removal on big stubborn spots then wash off tar remover and then go over the whole thing with the mitt.

Do I need to give it another quick wash before polishing?

I'm new to the detailing game!

  6. Because of this I just took a trip to halfords and purchased the mitt, detailing spray and autoglym tar remover and will Be spending a large amount of time tomorrow making it happen!

Did a bit of online research and everyone seems to rate it!

I'll post the results if all goes to plan

  7. I have had mine for about 3 years and was looking into buying one for about 2 years before that!

I first saw a ginger one about 9 years ago and wanted one instantly so was very excited a few years later to find that it could be realistic to have one myself!

  8. Well, your options are pretty much limitless until we know a budget... But within the next couple of months (all being well) my Saab 9-3 1.9 TID Vector Sport (150 - Remapped to 185) will be for sale with only 60k and just had well over £3k spent on all of the common and age related problems being replaced and renewed etc... Full cream leather interior with very little signs of wear (except for a bit on drivers seat). In short, it's been "mothered".. Will be looking for around £5,800 when i come to sell due to all of the money that has been poured into it in the last 12 months.

However, if that's not for you, i wouldn't think of hire purchase unless you were going to keep whatever you got long enough to make it pay... There are plenty of decent family cars around for between £5-8k.... That said, i'm sure you could pick up a good car for less, but by no means will it have any nice modern refinements!

I have considered one of these as a sensible diesel. What's it like to live with? Mpg, performance?

  9. Hello!

Just wondering if anybody could give me some tips.

For the wipers I'm going to take them off, rub down well, primer and matt black paint.

Was thinking of just getting it from halfords, will this be ok or do I need an exterior grade paint? Also how many layers?

As for the centre console, I was thinking of not rubbing it down as I don't want to lose the texture on the surface or is this a bad idea?

Again will the same matt black paint I use for the wipers be alright for the console?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Ian.

  10. Good evening,

I am going to be fitting some wheel spacers soon and have a couple of questions.

Do I use copper grease on all the studs and in between the hub and spacer?

I am going to tighten up the spacer and the wheel to 85 lb/ft of torque, is this correct?

Apart from that I'm good to go!

    Thanks in advance,

    Ian.
