Husky has done some work in this area ............. it involves opening up the headlights in an oven ........ a job that can easily go wrong
Hmmm yeh, so I've read
Might get stuck into the wiring diagrams tomorrow, see what I can find. I'd like to see a photo of a completely stock american 350z at night with the lights on...
-
Starting to wonder if this is an american 350z thing only? That would explain why the above pictures look so "stock" (un-modified) and why it looks like our cars (well mine at least) has bubs/LED's in the headlights in that orange strip, yet don't light up.
I'm betting, if that is the case, it would be quite simple to wire up!! Headlights might have to come out! Driving me mad, been searching for hours now!
-
Hey all,
Done loads more searching about today and getting more & more tempted to remove my headlights and start having a play...
Just found these pictures! eeeexactly what I want!
And, I do believe, a pre-06 headlight!?
-
If you want to wait till you get the ones you want to save doin it twice, no worries. Either way it's fine, just keep me updated.
Legend I'll let you know!
-
So it looks like I'll have to wait a bit longer for your clear ones
Hurry up someone and find him the ones he wants!!!
Haha, nah its cool dude I'll prob fit these darkened amber ones for now, and just wait for orange-orange ones, so I can get my clear ones posted to ya!
thezstore.com has some, and only $10 per side, so might do that... Might have to buy some more cool stuff of that site too..
-
Still after some!
I got some "smoked amber" ones from Sarah @ Chilli red, but they are the JDM ones which are slightly dimmed down orange. What I'm really after is the proper bright orange ones?
Just like this
PM me if you can help out? thanks!

I don't want to step on toes, but quite honestly, the oem brembos are rubbish compared to the dixcels at least and i'm guessing it would be similar with the ferodos.
I wouldn't want to put them back on.
My dixcels did seem to have a slight squeak until they were bedded in though, but they've been fine since.
That's cool, no worries where did you get your dixcels? from? Never heard of that make lol

Brilliant, thank you all for your informative replies
Beau quickly PM'd me after I put this thread up who is selling a full set of these...
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/ ... ct=3932699
How would they compare to the DS2500, EBC's, etc?
I would imagine "stock" pads would suit me fine, as I say I don't drive it hard at all. I leave that to my other car! <--
Ferodo DS 2500 is far superior to Brembo in all departments and cheaper.
Yea? Are they 100% going to be silent though? I was just thinking stock (Brembo) would be best to go for since they would be silent from factory.
Also Beau's price on his new-in-box price is (a fair bit!) cheaper than new DS2500's...

Update, quick search found me this
Guess that means it kinda depends how and who fitted the rear spoiler! Looks like there's a good chance those extra holes will indeed be there
-
I think there are 4 bolts holding the Nismo spoiler in place. 2 of them match up to the OEM spoiler, the other 2 will need filling.
Pete
What do you mean by filling?
I think he means that the OEM spoiler will not use them, so you'd have holes left in the boot. Bummer I don't really like the N1 wing that much, bit OTT for my liking, so was thinking about going for that subtle OEM lip one
hmm I dont like the sound of having "holes" left in the boot, especially if I go back to the original lip.... Will it not work with just the two main fixing spots?
Same here I'm going to be removing my N1 rear spoiler this weekend, so I will photograph & have a look on how exactly its attached. I'm hoping its just two bolts, therefore just two holes. In which case the OEM lip spoiler will fit just in its place, therefore no holes left exposed! Lets hope!

Hey all thanks for all the replies. Bummer that the prefacelift headlights don't have those little LED's lighting up. (Don't shoot me) but on new BMW's I find they're headlights do that, and I think it looks really great.
I really like the OEM look, so it would be orange LED's I'd want/fit, rather than white or blue
So Paul, you used to customise headlights? I found a couple of threads by a Google search of your work, impressed! If you are not doing it any more then I understand, but is there any chance of a "rough" how-to guide from yourself? I'd like to have a crack at doing this myself!
Thanks everyone!
-
Judging from your previous posts you have the pre-facelift regular xenons which do not have the LEDs. I'm not sure what you mean by the extra illumination though.
Ah, I do indeed have a pre-facelift. Ohhh bummer, really? Are the headlights interchangeable between pre-facelift & facelift?
Thanks for the reply, haha. Indeed an odd one with the lights. I might see if I can get some video of it in action!

Cool cool Yep very good fit, here's a pic of my car, not the best to show off the wing, but very good fit & from what I believe, genuine indeed.

Hey all,
Got a bit of a weird one here, still fairly new to Z ownership to bare with me.
Firstly, on occasion, seems to only be when on main-beam, the headlights sometimes seem to have a mind of their own? Driving down a country road with main-beams on, they sometimes seem to illuminate brighter and in different areas at random?? Really quite weird. I've also noticed it sometimes when parking, almost like an extra light or 2 illuminates for a few seconds? weird!
Second question, I notice that on the headlights there is an orange streak on the side which looks great, and toward the top there is, what appears to be, several LED's (about 4 or 5..) which I would presume would light-up orange?... Like this?
But mine do not light up Any ideas? Is it a different headlight/model, or a simple mod that you can do, etc? I like the orange bits!
Thanks!

Hey guys,
Currently have fitted the Nismo N1 rear spoiler on my car and was wondering about removing it and fitting a stock(??) rear spoiler - the small subtle lip one?
Just wondering if anyone knows if the holes for both spoilers are the same, so I wouldn't have to re-drill holes, or have any extra holes to fill, etc?
Finally, the spoiler in this pic is the look I'm after. (taken from Clarkie's thread about wiper removal!)
Where can I buy said item? Or what's it even called, haha. Thanks
-
Cool! Cheers for the reply buddy. Is it the Ferodos ds2500 you're referring to? I had a bit of a bad experience with those in the past, on a previous (non-z) car of mine, very very noisy...?
If its one thing I hate, brake squeal has got to be it! haha
-
Hey guys,
Got a 54 plate 350z with the Brembo setup and it currently has Performance Friction 01 pads fitted, although I'm finding them quite noisy at low speeds!
Yet to take them out and grease them, so hopefully that will do the trick. However, worst case scenario I don't mind paying out for new pads, plus they're probably getting low anyway!
So which ones would you guys suggest? I don't drive my car on the track, and it doesn't really get driven hard even on the road, just a normal "daily" for me, with the odd spirited drive on the weekend
Thanks

Well, my one - which is an "official" nismo front lip ( ) I'm pretty sure started life in Canada! Got a feeling they were a US/Candian Market product... so gonna be pretty hard to source an original I think...
This is the ebay one i mentioned..
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NISSAN-350z-03-07 ... 1448wt_905
Shame there isnt a "let me ebay that for you" site....
Jak
The ad says 03-07 cars but I'm not sure how that would fit a facelift car with the indent?
Oh? Mine's a prefacelift, I think! Haha. Mine is a 54 plate... (sorry newwwwbie)

Ah right, cool. Ok thanks
The one you linked to is a carbon fiber one though, so hence the steep price. Did you see my eBay link I previously posted? It looks like the same lip, just a copy & non-carbon version, which might be a winner!
-
Hmm I'm liking what I'm hearing - that I could just buy said lip, rather than an entire front bumper...
Where can I get this lip from, anyone know?
-
Ah, cool. Thanks for the replies & info. Looks good on your car, but you have different sideskirts to me, I think that would make a lot of difference.
I have messaged a few USA sellers on ebay selling this front lip...
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... 0571222008
Which looks good for what I want. I presume the fitment isn't great, but that doesn't bother me too much, I'm sure I could get it fitting OK with some "mods"!
Anyone with any experience/advise from such sellers/lips?
-
Ah, thanks for the reply. That's quite nice, but I still prefer the more subtle look of the splitter I said about, since I think it matched up to the Nismo kit a bit better?
Do you have any photos of that bumper+lip fitted? Thanks!
Orange front bumper reflectors? swap..?

Damnit, I've already sold my clear ones separately, sorry dude. Wouldn't fancy selling outright, then you can buy yourself some nice shiny new clear ones from eBay or wherever?
