  1. V1 nismo kit is no lower than the oem bumper.............

Yeah, noticed that, but I'm more talking about how does it look when its properly slammed.

I'm not worried about scraping the kit, I just wonder what its going to look like. All the really slammed/lowered 350's I find on the internet have stock bodywork.

  2. single exit definitely looks unique on an NA... i rekon it should be one exhaust for each bank of cylinders, or one exhaust per turbo. if you convert to a single turbo setup then a single exit would be fine, but really for a V6 NA it should be a true dual exhaust setup.

    Thats in my opinion anyways!

I sort of have to agree, however, the Japspeed system goes into 1 pipe anyway, so no point splitting back out into 2?

If I had a spare grand (lol) or so, then I'd probably go true dual setup, but that's a lodda cash for some shiny pipework.

  3. Ah sweet, nice.

Yeah my 350 is my daily, and my s13 is my drifter.

And my currently boring, stock 350.

Shortly going for new wheels, some low & sorting out this exhaust!

Anyway - back on topic - this is good news for me. I'm pretty certain my mate (legend welder) can probably sort this out or me for probably sub £100! Also really helps since I have a spare 5" rear can in good condition that I'm not using! B)

  4. Ah that's awesome, thanks for the reply!

Quite ironic really, I've just cut & removed my old rear can from my other car (s13) which will probably work & fit perfectly on my 350z, along with a touch of high skill welding from my buddy, should look pretty good!!

Have to say, it does seem to sound a lot better in those video's than mine does at the moment with the K2. Sounds more meaty & purposeful rather than the little rasp I currently get.

    :bounce: Great stuff!!

  5. Sorry if this is a duplicate thread, but I have done a search.

Looking for GT/Nismo kit 350's lowered. Can't actually seem to find any, most that I see that have been lowered are OEM bodywork no kit.

I ask since I'm going to be lowering mine shortly, and mine's a GT with the genuine kit. . . . :p

    Cheers!!

  6. Thought I'd make another thread since this is kind of different from my previous, but following on from

    This >> viewtopic.php?f=62&t=53519

Any advantage/disadvantage for going single exit? From getting some quotes for custom exhausts, its turning out more expensive than I originally thought, but I think a single exit would probably be a lot cheaper to make :p

Also doesn't look too bad IMO, slightly more subtle and a bit unique.

My current system goes twin decats > y-pipe > midpipe > K2 backbox.

So the gasses already flow into 1 single pipe. Can't see it making too much difference if they exit in 1 pipe or 2 B)

    Thoughts?

  7. Ah, awesome reply thanks very much.

I'm really unsure about how low I will be going as yet. It looks like I'm going to be buying new wheels with less tyre sidewall, so I'm unsure if "just" a 30mm drop will do since I don't really want there to be much/any arch gap.

So - my question then - how much is the type of coilers you're talking about? I presume you are a trader & sell them on here?

As far as what I use my car for, I never track/drift it - its purely just a daily/fast-road. I am used to fairly hard suspension however, and I find the stock 350z suspension pretty floaty/weak from what I prefer, so maybe coilovers would suit my preference better anyway?

Anyway, get back to me on prices if possible. That's really what it all comes down to after all :) PM if you'd prefer, that'd be great.

    Thanks!!

  8. Hmmm, well that was my option 2 ^^ above, using the K2 backbox, but with chopping & replacing just the tailpipes.

But looking at the design of the K2 backbox, it doesn't give much room for changes/modifications, so might just do away with it, then make up my own system. I could even sell the K2 system and make some money back ... ?? :)

Now's the question - what size tailpipe? I haven't measured, but the K2 is 3" I believe? And that Scorpion says its 4" !! What does the Scorpion look like fitted?

  9. Hmm, £374 over on CS I see.

Just unsure if I want to pay that much if the only problem I have with my system is a tailpipe rattle.

I've contacted a company near to where I live who make custom exhausts to get a quote for Y-pipe back, they did a custom cat-back for my friends Honda s2000 for £200, so if it works out cheaper I'll get that done (and of course pics to show you guys when its done!)

    :)

  10. Hmm thanks for the replies people.

I am still fairly convinced its the tailpipes that rattle, as ^ Leonk said, its to do with the insert or something. And when we tried to weld them, we found them to be quite inaccessible, so could only really tack them back in place by the ends.

I've done some reading & looking no YouTube for "straight pipes" 350z noise, and it doesn't sound all that loud when on idle. I don't mind about it being a tad loud while driving, but just worried on idle and slow speed it would be too loud for the neighbours, etc.

Has anyone got any real-life experience with straight pipes on a 350? Also, how does it affect performance? I have straight pipes on my s13 drift car, but because that it a turbo, it doesn't affect performance. I would guess the 350 rely's on some back-pressure because its NA?

  11. Really want to finally sort this out, been a problem for a while now.

I have Japspeed decats & y-pipe & full K2 catback, and I've known for a while that the tailpipes rattle like hell. I've got a mate to weld them up (outer & inner pipes rattle it seems) which helped a bit, but it's still a bit crappy.

So anyway, what's my options? I don't really want to replace the entire system since its expensive to do so, and I don't think the rest of the system has any problems - its just the tailpipes I think.

    I figure 3 options...

1, Find another back-box section that fits ?? If any?

2, Buy this, cut it in half, weld & replace the tailpipes completely.

    3. Buy some of this, don't have a back-box at all. Probably be too loud though?

    Suggestions? B)

  12. Nice, thanks for the replies everyone. Very helpful, gives me something to work on now, awesome.

Lum - any more pics of your car? Looks very low & pretty awesome, I probably won't be going as low as that, since I have a slight driveway to get up & down everyday, and I know if I were that low it wouldn't happen

Beau - awesome, thanks for the info RE tyre sizes. I'm now thinking of going staggered 9.5j front, 10.5j rears, so probably same tyre sizes as said above, but on different rim widths, should be perfect. B)

Although - like I said, the silver 350 above has the same tyre profiles on 9.5 and 10.5j's, yet that measured to have 0% front/back ratio, so surely must interfere with the TCS?

  13. Right, done some calculations. Correct me if I'm wrong here (been using www.willtheyfit.com for this)

    Current setup,

    225/45 8j and 245/45 8.5j radius difference = 2.66%

    New potential setups

    265/35 10.5j and 285/35 10.5 = 2.13% (favourite so far)

    245/35 10.5j and 265/35 10.5j = 2.18%

    255/30 10.5j and 285/30 10.5j = 2.87%

Any thoughts for thoughts? :) Cheers.
