  1. Yeah that's not good for the sport. Brundle sounded like he was about to cry. I don't think this was really much of a problem. It did catch some drivers out but they still push very hard in the braking and cornering, unlike when they're conserving tyres. We just have to hope that the teams figure out a way they can run the tyres fast. This year is an end of an era for F1 - being the last time we're ever likely to see and hear them with a normally aspirated engine and it would be nice if they can turn it around and give the V8s a propper send off. I hope Pirelli are allowed to make a decent tyre for next year. even though i'm not a fan of the forthcoming hybrid drive-trains, i am very interested to see how they perform and which loop-holes will be exploited. If the tyres fall to bits after 5 laps then it will ruin a lot of that excitement.
  2. I see your point but at a qualifying pace the tyres would probably only last about 3 laps which is bordering on reduiculous
  3. Good job I'm not affected by this one... Wait, what time is it!?!
  4. The Chinese are the world front runners at faking things - i wouldn't be suprised if they sent you a cast iron wheel. This coupled with the dodgy English and grammar on the website would put me right off.
  5. Are there any date restrictions on the tickets?
  6. +1 Stick a new bottle of fluid and it will probably be ok and it's relatively inexpensive and easy to do. just get a one man bleeding bottle for about 3 quid from your local brakers
  7. I ran 40 profile MPS3s a while back with standard widths and it was fine. maybe slightly less compliance but it was very hard to tell
  8. I know it can be processional but that wasn't really my point. I meant that it demonstrates driving dynamics that make for an interesting race due to the relative lack of grip available from downforce. unfortunately as it is so narrow there aren't many places to pass, but imagine Catalunya if they were balancing a car with the same power:grip ratio as they have in Monaco. Edit: this is also why Monza is often a fun race as it is low drag but also has slow speed corners. This is where the focus on entertainment should be IMHO, not on tyre degradation. A simple fix would be narrower wings
  9. Unfortunately Pirelli are only fulfilling their design brief on these tyres, which says a lot about what the F1 bosses think of their viewers. It has to be said though - if the tyres lasted all race an the red bulls just swanned off into the distance as a result people would be just as frustrated. Just give them twice as much horsepower as they can actually use and you will always get good racing. When you watch monacco in a couple of weeks you will see what i mean here. when the drivers have to modulate the throttle a lot more, driver skill shines through, and it also brings in propper tyre management from smoothness where the likes of JB are usually good - a bit of tyre management is OK. Unfortunately though, next years 4WD electric hybrid fuel saving crap is the opposite way to this. I hope to be pleasantly surprised though. i'm thinking F-zero-x style
  10. HAHAHA. brilliant. i just went to share this on my FB and it's already all over it
  11. Can't wait to have a go on that!
  12. looking back on this i think i would have to take out the german wagon and have one of these instead Bowler exkr-s i think that could handle the shopping run pretty well and the 'white-knuckle taxi' rides could be pretty much as the crow flies
  13. Your acronyms are so confusing. I Googled this and got particle theory co-operative group
  14. IS THERE A BANANA IN THE TAIL PIPE? THAT CAN CAUSE SLOW LAUNCH CONTROLSES
  15. ONE OF THESE MIGHT BE GOOD! http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Supercharger-Turbo-Turbocharger-NISSAN-NERVANA-350Z-300-ZX-/290909674956?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item43bb915dcc
  16. Money no object.... too much coice. There's far too many to choose from but the first would be: Porsche Carrera GT in black Ferrari F40 997 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0 (i can't believe nobody else mentioned this!!!!) Then would come either an E90 M5 touring, E63 AMG wagon,CL63 shooting brake or panamera sport tourismo - I have this batty idea of making a none profit taxi company called "white knuckle taxis" this would also serve as a trailer car for: Early 70s F1 lotus with full team of engineers. 2011 Nissan GTR GT1 in JRM Livery Caterham R500 I would also love a 1970s lotus Elan for threading down the back roads. There are so many more but I would fill a full page with my wants list.
  17. What if I abandoned my car somewhere blocking you for 10 minutes - would you think a £35 fine suitable? I work in electricity substations and people ALWAYS park in front of the gates, blocking me in, even though they can see me working in there. sometimes i specifically cone off the area and put up a sign saying DO NOT PARK and people move the cones and park there, using the "i allways park here" excuse - it always says no parking at any time anyway When i knock on peoples office doors and ask them to move they get so arsy with me i wish i had just pushed the car out of the way with my van. ....rant over
  18. If the signs are the correct style/size/position so that they comply with legislation then you don't have a leg to stand on. However if they don't comply, then technically it's not a 'no parking' sign, its just a piece of metal with some writing on and you can argue you're case. If you're that concerned about it then i advise you look it up in the road traffic act but saying that you have parked there plenty of times before is no excuse. If i were you i'd just pay the fine and not park there any more.
  19. Buy a pre 276 car with a supercharger already installed. take your time to look and get one that has been tuned at a reputable place e.g abbey. otherwise i guess it depends what you want out of the car, whether you want to mod it or not and if you'd rather have the left over money. I know if i were you and had that much money to spend i'd be thinking very hard about a different 2 seater sports car that starts with P and rhymes with orsha kay-man
  20. yeah. the chances are that they'll use the method i suggested but at least then you can blame them if it goes wrong. i did it on my golf, the bolt looked like this afterwards
  21. And Then turn it off and put new nuts on
  22. One for the Hamilton fans, Not the interview bit but the race is Hamilton at his best:
  23. I saw the press car, or development one - something like that - at Oulton Park at Easter. it does look amazing, especially from the back
