I guess its a 50/50 colour with the GM so you can use either.
If you wanted another 'pro' opinion I'd send envyvaleting a pm to ask
Unfortunately he's away on a trip. I've spoken to him already, just not about the Poorboys stuff.
I wonder if anybody else on here will have some knowledge?

I'm speaking to a guy who's advising me on what to buy (he is a detailing products supplier), he's insisting I purchase the White Diamond but I'm confused because the gunmetal is quiet a dark colour...
Would there be any reason why he is recommending the white diamond instead?
Thanks,
Hassan

Talking about Poorboys, I have a gunmetal Zed. Which one do I use: Poorboys White Diamond or Black Hole? I'm going to be buying some tonight!

Whats the best product to purchase for the interior door cards, kick plates and dashboard from Halfords?
I have decided to buy 2 items from there that I need (Megs Gold Class shampoo and Megs Ultimate Compound) and thought I would purchase something of high quality that I could use on interior plastics and benefit from the 3 for 2 offer at the same time.
-
Good point. I'll try out the Megs Ultimate Compound and DA first, hopefully that will do the job. I may save myself some money by not purchasing the sandpaper and Megs Plast X, rather than purchasing it and realising I didn't need it after all!
I like your logic!
-
Oh so I'm I wasting my time purchasing 2000 and 3000 grit sandpapers? Shall I just use my DAS6 and Megs Ultimate Compound?
-
Perfect! Thanks for that, really helpful!
Are there any recommended sandpaper manufacturers to use for the 2000 and 3000 grit sandpapers? I don't want to end up purchasing a cheap quality sandpaper which will end up ruining my headlights or not lasting long enough!!
I am taking delivery of my DAS6 polisher, compound and pads on Tuesday so I can get down to some proper detailing over the next bank holiday weekend!
-
Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone has used this product and if it works?
I have a cloudy layer on my headlights which I was planning to remove. Would this Plast X stuff work?
Can this be used by hand or is it better to apply it using the Kestral DAS6 polisher?
Or am I better off just using the Megs Ultimate Compound in restoring my headlights?
Thanks for your help guys

I spoke to Tim at Envy Valeting yesterday. He advised me on what products to use. Even though he was really busy, he took the time out and helped me (which was very nice of him!)
He has recommended me to use Megs Ultimate Compound with the Megs yellow and black (polishing and finishing) pads. With my experience (none at all! ) he says it's the easiest, safest and most effective product to use for a beginner.
Once I gain some experience, then I can move onto the Megs 205.
Thought it's best for me to share my findings for anyone else in my situation.
I have also heard a few people mention the Menz is a good product also!

I think I have the same issue as you...I have a loud rattling sound between 1k and 1,500 revs which disappears below and beyond that point. When I'm next to a wall, I can hear it clearly. In the morning when the car is idling at that point, it sounds really bad!
Do you think it's the same issue as what you're describing?
Many Thanks,
Hassan

Hi everyone,
Following on from my previous thread on which machine polisher to buy, after some helpful advice from the members on this forum, I decided to go for a Kestrel DAS6 DA polisher.
Now I've been told that the 350z has soft paint hence I need to be careful on the polishes/compounds I use on the paintwork.
I've seen a few detailing kits on the net and was wondering if I should buy a kit or buy the products/pads separate. I have been offered a DAS6 for £75 (incl. postage) brand new.
My paintwork does not require major correction, just the removal of swirls and other slight imperfections. I have a couple of bird dropping stains which I may attempt on removing (this may not be possible though).
All help is very much appreciated.
Kind Regards,
Hassan

Hi Hassan I use a product called Dasheen made by Espuma, spray on wipe off and leaves a nice matt sheen. Looks natural and not all glossy.
Thanks for your reply Tim. How much does that stuff cost and where can I get it from?
I've got some auto glym vinyl and rubber care, would that do the job?
Kind regards,
Hassan

Hi everyone,
I was just wondering whats the best product to use to clean the kick plates with the Z on it, the plastic door cards with the little ridges and the dashboard.
Due to the nature and texture of the plastic, I am hesitating using normal dashboard/vinyl cleaners.
I wanted to restore the blackness of the door cards as they are beginning to have a whitish texture to them.
All help will be appreciated

Hi all,
Just a quick question, I'm wondering if somebody can advise?
As my handbrake seems unreliable, I always leave my car in first gear when parking up.
A couple of times (whilst music was playing), I forgot the car is still running and release the clutch and end up stalling the car after hearing a loud engine thud. I assumed the car is switch off so just release the clutch to get out of the car. I'm still not used to leaving the car in first gear!
I'm just wondering if this causes any harm to the gearbox, clutch or engine? When it stalls, the engine does make a loud noise and leaps forward...

why do you need measurements? they just fit perfectly
LOL! I should have explained why before I asked
I'm purchasing some Di-noc 3M carbon fibre vinyl to wrap my B-pillars. Thought I would ask in this thread seeing as it's one of the most relevent threads to post in, rather than starting a whole new thread.
Many Thanks,
Hassan
Have a look at this link, scroll down and see mine. not worth the effort doing it yourself get rtbiscuit to do it. first class service.
Thanks for the advice mate! I've had a look, his work does look fantastic!
I will definitely consider getting it done.
I've had a lot of experience at work applying vinyl to our courtesy cars so I thought I'd give it a shot myself and save myself some money...but I don't want to ruin it either!!
-
B pillars are about 250mm tal by 100 mm wide, but it depends on how you want to wrap them to how much you'll need, i.e. if you were to place them on the material side by side the pattern wouldn't be handed. for e.g. where the pattern starts from i.e. the diagonal goes up from the bottom front section. on both, un handed mean it goes up from that point on one but the lines run in the opposite direction on the other.
I really appreciate your help
Does that mean I'd need either 25cm by 10cm in total for both pillars or 2 x 25 by 10?
With regards to the weave line direction, I would probably want them both to be going the same direction on either side to make it look more standard.
I may even consider getting you to do them for me your work looks brilliant!!
Will the B-pillar you provide be in mint condition and a genuine part? In the future I may end up removing the vinyl so I would need them to be in mint condition.
Do you sell the vinyl on its own (enough for both B-pillars)?
Your help is very much appreciated.

iphone holder + cassette to iPhone adapter = £18, good deal!
I've been considering using one of those...what's the sound quality like?
Do I need to get a specific type?
Thanks,

Hi mate,
I have a standard exhaust system for sale (44k mileage) if you're interested?
PM me.

It'll be fine for small chip touch ups - I wouldn't paint my whole caliper with the stuff though!
Wow I should have asked them for 5p commission on each referral
I orders a bunch of fine paint paint brushes from them at the same time to do all my stone chips - just hold off paying and they combine the postage in checkout.
How much were the brushes?
-
Ah..thank you guys for clarifying this for me Luckily I didn't buy it otherwise I would have wasted my money!
I got excited thinking now I don't have to stick to the 6 CDs that's been in there ever since i bought the car and can listen to music of my iPhone!
So the bluetooth module does not do anything other than store numbers and transmit phone calls to/from a phone.
Many Thanks,
Hassan

Hi everybody.
I was just looking at purchasing the Bluetooth I O Play device.
Are these any good? Would they work with my existing Bose stereo and bluetooth module?
I have never heard of these before so don't want to purchase it if it's a waste of time!
When you play music through this device, what is the quality like?
Does any body currently use it in their Zed? Is there a lot of preparation work necessary to get this to work?
I appreciate your help guys and I apologise for the million questions!
