  1. Hmm, yeah that is strange. Well ive taken my car to a local exhaust fabricator when i had the flexi pipes changed and they said they could re-work the system to fit better.. I said its ok as its all on there properly and ive eliminated the vibration. But if you wanted it could be bend away/or chopped and re-welded.
  2. That may very well explain that problem! I didnt realize the US/JDM versions didnt have the fins?! Thats exactly where it is making contact. It doesnt make contact until you drive it. On stand still there is about 1/2 inch gap but i guess when moving you get the engine movement. Its quite a nice sound, I have a video of the sound inside the car, not outside though
  3. Thanks mate, yeah they do, they are in between the drifts and the GTR's i think.. I really like it. The system is very deep on partial throttle and gets very loud and "racey" so to speak on full chat. Although fitment is not great. It makes contact with my rear diff casing so i got bad rattling noises but i wrapped some heat wrap around the area and has sorted that problem good.. I wanted the OEM style looks with the exhaust that was what i liked about the system, as well as the noise on a few videos i had heard prior to purchasing. Also i wouldn't recommended the Ichiba as both flexi pipes blew within 2 months of ownership. They have been replaced and it seems to be all good now.
  4. Cheers guys! And 350 Russ, You legend! I will do just that mate, thank you
  5. Yo folks! I haven't posted pictures up yet so i thought, why not eh? he he All C + C good or bad welcome Quick spec/mods ive done since December when purchased: Ichbina Y-pipe OBX decats Magnaflow Cat back K + N typhoon intake Fidanza lightened flywheel Motordyne Plenum spacer(the larger one) 18" Nismo Replica wheels Stubby aerial Aftermarket discs/red stuff pads PasswordJDM gear knob Stripped rear interior Private Number plate Think this one has a bloody good engine as shes quick for a DE! Confident it will hold its own against a HR motor. Id say this is pushing near/if not 300bhp and minus 50KG weight. Through various comparison tests etc. Future mods: Vortech Supercharger kit(hopefully within the next 3 months or so) Coilovers Carbon front lip A possible subtle body kit(i have one in mind) This is how it currently stands: Ive now Flushed the front plate: Flushed mounted plate: I had to space out the strut bar to fit with the plenum spacer, but its on there and pretty well: Thanks for looking
  6. Personally im not into the coloured lips, slight tackiness for me.. Although some do work well. That does not!
  7. That is a very well modified GTR but like mentioned, i would have thought that was a tad overpriced as before i bought my 350Z i was also looking at these as they were coming in at around the same price margin and i found minters with 400BHP+ too... I have an 05 Z with full GT kit, 65K miles... I would have thought maybe around £13K MAX for yours to be honest.. But im not here to tell you whats what, good luck with that, it is stunning.
  8. Weather i would personally do this thats beside the point. I think it looks really well mate! Very nice styling to i must say
  9. Bloody hell mate!! I didnt expect that! Yeah main thing there was no injury! And surprised you had the TC on and still let you come out! I mean i never drive with it on, auto mode to turn it straight off as soon as i start the car but i had it on a couple of time the first few days when i bought it and i found it cut all the power away eve in the snow it felt quite safe...! Do you think the TC was possibly faulty??
  10. @rog518... Thanks dude! Yeah it also has uprated discs which the guy had just bought before he decided to sell the car, and i believe it has red stuff pad at the front from what they look like. @Simon+Kat... Hahaha what happened mate?? Im intrigued! @Maccaman... Sounds awesome mate, Although wales is extremely far from me That doesnt mean i wont make it. I'll have to see. If it was nearer would be a definite YES! Are there any meets coming up a little more local. I mean i love to travel around a bit but wales is near 200 miles away from me!! haha Thanks everyone for the very very warm welcome!! :)
  11. I agree with what was previously said. The front end looks strange on such a small car. However i do like the styling of the front end. The car is nice in my opinion but not perfect. I also agree the old one looks a bit too girly for my liking.
  12. I enjoyed that video! Drivers had good control and took some nice lines! The GT3 drivers over there are crazy! I remember being overtaken by loads of those bad boys on the ring in my EK9!
  13. Thanks mate! Haha, Yeah its that bit more twitchy now granted! But the main reason for doing so was to increase boot space!! I cant believe the lack of space in this car Traction isnt great at the moment anyway with the budget tires that were on the car when i bought it! But should be getting new wheels soon so will wrap them with some semi-decent rubber.
  14. Haha! eyes of a hawk! I forgot about that. I did that pretty much as soon as i got it as i really wasnt fond of the OEM huge aerial! Cheers dude PS... Actually none of the pictures show my new stubby aerial?? Is that one not OEM? As the one i have now is half the size of that one!
  15. HI! I posted yesterday regarding a clutch but havent introduced myself... Names Dan(obviously) haha, and have a major obsession with cars and tuning them. Ive had some powerful cars one that ive still got but not run for over 2 years now. A stripped out starlet GT with a 3SGTE(MR2 turbo engine) 2.0liter. Car weighs around 900KG and power of 320BHP. Yes its seriously fast haha. Looking to sell that once up and running again. Ive also had a tracked out civic EK9 type R with 1800cc 200BHP. Took it to Nurburgring and various other tracks. I sold that recently and bought myself a 350Z So far only mods are: Typhoon KnN Intake system Fidanza light flywheel stripped out boot/spare wheel/tools etc etc... I have decats and an aftermarket Y pipe on their way to me. Then order up a plenum spacer + remap.. After that i will decide on a supercharged set up. Thats not 100% yet. I believe i have a good engine in this one as a few drags tell alot. Goes very very well for a supposed 276BHP?! I would say more around the 290hp mark on this engine as bit too fast for 276BHP quoted figure. Heres a couple of pictures of the week a bought it(around 3 months ago during the snowy period, hope you dont mind. Comments and criticism welcomed.. Looks a great forum and look forward to sticking around. Already been very helpful for me Thank
  16. An absolute star! Thanks for all the information Alex. Very welcoming to a new member with all the help Dan
  17. Thanks buddy, i will PM him now a link to this thread. If he can give good advice might be worth being posted on this thread as may help someone else too
  18. Thanks for the reply mate. Yeah i mean ive heard the chattering is normal with the light weight solid flywheel but on idle as well? I also need to know if the noise disappears once you push the clutch down in Neutral idling? As the noise and symptoms sound like a potential input shaft in the gearbox problem. The clutch squealing is a separate problem to this which im also confused about.. I will introduce myself properly, and post some photos up of the car although it looks standard with the GT kit rays wheels etc in black 05 plate. Looks like a nice forum here and some very very nice cars Any more info from anyone? any experience in this? I just hope its not the input shaft as that will cost me around £950 Ive only had the car 3 months
  19. Hello everyone, My names Dan and ive recently bought a 350z. Loving it. Thought id give a very quick hello before i start boring you and not to be rude he he.. And as its my first post on this forum. Well ive done some searching all over the internet and on this forum but have not stumbled across the answers to the questions i want answered! Ive recently installed a new clutch(exedy OE spec) and fidanza light flywheel. 2 problems. Firstly, since the new clutch, if i give some right foot, bit of abuse and come to a halt, press the clutch down i get a squealing noise..... i release...... noise goes away, back on and off clutch and noise slowly disappears. Opinions on this?? As a local mechanic is also confused. Secondly, since the new flywheel ive naturally got a loud noise at low revs due to going from duel to solid flywheel. OK, but is the noise supposed to disappear when you press down the clutch? Or is this rattling noise a possible input shaft bearing? I mean the noise has only been apparent since the clutch/flywheel change. This noise is in gears whilst driving and also in neutral. it gets slightly quicker with increased RPM. Noise only seems really apparent whilst driving between 1K-2K RPM. And also in neutral, loud rattling and revving. So yeah, i know they make noise but i really want to know if noise goes away when clutch is pressed down... Information would be absolutely perfect and very much appreciated. Im a great car enthusiastic, love my track days/modifying etc and the 350 has really taken my fancy and could potentially become a nice project. Thanks for taking time to read :) PS i do hope this is the right section
