  1. Thanks to everyone involved today, it was a great day out and lovely to meet you all. And brilliant weather for mid October too I might add! :teeth:

I hope everyone's drive home was more fun than mine; the A1 was dull, and the lines behind all of the caravans were just too long to overtake.

I made it just before kick off though.

    :drive1

    Should've gone the A696 - I was back in Newcastle for 330pm!

  2. I'll second woody's comments. Great weather (Lexx make of this what you will mate??!), good chat and good to give the right foot a bit of a workout. Thanks to all who came and for the Scots for inviting us.

Safe trips home - until next time.

(Woody I hope the run home was a bit more adventurous for you!)

  3. Sorry guys been snowed under the past few days with work stuff and drinking. Meet as Lexx says... I will come up with a route and post up in the next few days and bring some map print outs on the day. Should be good and let's hope if Lexx is doing the a1 route he takes the rain with him not the way we're going. I'm thinking we go up to Hawick through Northumberland national park. If anyone has any roads they MUST take then let me know

  4. I would agree. It does smell sometimes but I've noticed it less now I've got more miles on. I don't notice slipping normally but to be honest I find the heavy gear change a bit clunky and so when changing gears you find it won't change gear as quick as you would like and you inadvertently probably slip it. I wish the gear change was smoother! My only complaint though. The srm is the best invention ever - I see masserati are now putting it in their cars.

  6. Hi Martin,

I've got a bit lost with this thread being so large. Can i just confirm I will be coming over to the Lakes on the Friday and I will be camping (I think I'm already on the list). I am planning to bring a friend as a co-pilot so that's two of us in one car. Is that OK?

Also i'm not sure if I replied about food, but we're both in for the buffet too.

    Thanks.

(I cannot truly imagine the organisation this takes! When will final plans/itenary be announced?)

    Cheers Neal

  7. rogerxp,

This is a pretty good resource. http://370zexhaust.com/

Stillen and Tanabe are both round 4.5 inch tips. I think most are 4 inch rounds which actually seem to look smaller than stock because the stock tips are oval... for me this wasn't a look I was interested in. Bigger is better right?! Off the top of my head I think Akra are actually bigger (125mm) but it's only because of the outer carbon fibre or titanium casing bit on the tips. I may be wrong on this though. I think if you went for Akrapovic with the titanium tips that would look cool IMO because you would get larger metal looking tips but most people seem to get the black CF tips design but it's all a matter of preference, mate. I'm not sure when I was researching that I came across any of the better known brands that do oval tips. You could get a specialist to make them or choose a company that has interchangeable tips designs - I think magnaflow, scorpion and possibly blueflame might do this.

From what I've seen the Stillens stick out slightly more and are not cut to an angle which to me look a little more aftermarket but at the same time bloody nice... it was a close call between these two or Akra really.

Tanabe would sound lovely on a roadster I will guarantee you that! Do it.

  8. Yeah, sorry it's y-pipe back. I didn't get the y-pipe at the moment because I wasn't bother about improving performance and it wasn't suppose to make much difference to the sound. I thought I would try it without and see how it goes. May get one soon though.

I will change my signature to y-pipe back, thanks for pointing it out!
