  1. What miles are you guys having rebuilds on?

54 k and it started smoking like a tractor ! Full service history ,proper fuel , weekend car only ......

Are these engines as good as people say !!! There seems to be a lot going bang at the moment.

  2. As in Millers Nanodrive oil? Very good stuff, I believe Hartech now use it in their flat-six engine rebuilds :)

i am using millers nano drive for the winter after my very expensive rebuild ,it's done 1500

miles and I've done 4 oil changes !

I bought my 04 z with 50000 miles FSH I gave it a full service myself (because I don't trust anyone ) and only use super unleaded.

She started smoking like a tractor on start up after 12 months of ownership. Abbey said the engine was in good condition but the oil control rings were knackered, I have seen a few smokey Zds so I personally am very cautious about this engine .

So the only way you know you have a good one is if you have bought it from new .

Did you notice and gains or improvement after using the nanodrive? I only ask as every review I have read said that they have, I'd rather hear it from a fellow Zed owner.

Im still going steady on the right foot yet matey but I have noticed on start up from cold it fires really quick and seams to rev slightly higher for a minute, which would suggest the oil is doing its job from start up considering it will still be tight yet.

Spoke to abbey today about my dyno, I got my figures wrong she up by 20 bhp so I'm a happy chappy ,not that it matters really it pulls soooooo much better in every gear. Good luck with yours .

  5. I checked my oil every week changed it every 6 months with the good stuff ,supper unleaded petrol ,and one day it started to smoke like a diesel , spent £3 k on a rebuild , it's now in the garage until after xmas, until I save for some petrol to put in it .:(

  6. yesterday started rattling loudly and then went bang in a cloud of smoke garage said needs a new engine and im looking at 3.5 -4k :headhurt: its a 53 plate on 61,000 miles help :surrender:

  7. Hi all

I've done 800 miles now and no warning lights or smoke , so I guess it takes awhile for a new engine to settle, I will be sorting out the remap in the next few weeks. I will keep you posted.:)

  8. Hi all

I've only managed to do 50 miles in her so far !!

The cel light game on and it's a p1167 code which is the heated oxeygen sensor bank 2, am I rite in thinking this is the passenger side lambda sensor after the cat? And it may be something to do with the high flow cats ?. If so is there a fix ?

I don't want to buy another sensor if if I don't need to .

    Cheers .

    Help !!!

    Please :)

  10. thats great. the running in process will be soul destroying  . dont be tempted to cane it though because its not worth it. it must of been a pretty expensive fix for you

yes it cost a bit but could of been a lot worse I suppose , I saved a lot by taking the motor out myself and it gave me a great sense of achievement .
  11. Unbelievable ,dodgy spark plug , the last thing I checked.

Glad you found it - thought they were new plugs though.

mmmmmm ok I hold my hands up , I managed to flatten the end of one of the new plugs putting it in . That was just before the rebuild and I put the misfire down to the knackered engine, i can't believe I didn't double check them again .
  12. thats good that youve found it then. is that everything running sweet now?

yes mate finally she sounds like she used to:) just got a few bits and bobs to put back on and then I will start the long running in process .
