Mine was £10 off eBay !

Will take the plugs out tomorrow and check them .
Poor earth on the primary ignition circuit - black lead on top left hand side of cam chain cover (as you look at the engine bay - try that

I was so so so tempted to go for a forged engine and spend the wedding fund , but the last wedding fund went on a 500 bhp escort cosworth build , and in my fiancé words " don't you dare or you will be scared to sleep at night " , gulp !

Hi mate
I would say three days going very steady, the first problem was disconnecting those bloody plastic connectors, it took me the best part of a day trying to get the right angle to get the engine out.
After nearly giving up I found out one of the lifting straps had a grip on the gearbox .
I was so peed off once it was out I took the front panel off any way . You live and learn, I Have to thank you for you're threads it gave me inspiration

One more question before I go into the garage am I ok to disconnect the a/c lines from the pump without killing myself, I've never done an engine with air con before.
-
Ok will do, I'll carry on for now.
-
Ok ,started on engine today first question, and there will be many more do you have to take the front end off the car to get engine out ?I'm leaving the box in. I'm four hours in and don't seem to be getting very far, but I like a challenge.
Happy christmas.
