  1. Hi everyone,

I need to replace my rear left caliper on my Z33 import and I've had a search of the forums, and it sounds like the Murano calipers will fit. I was wondering if anyone could point me to a part number or where I can buy them from? Wanted to make sure that I'm sourcing the right part.

    Thanks!

  2. Hi guys,

I’ve decided to sell the PC that I put in my car a while ago which you can see on this thread:

    http://www.350z-uk.c...page__hl__midzt

The spec of the computer is:

Intel D510MO With Integrated Intel Atom processor D510 Intel MN10 Chipset Mini-ITX Motherboard

M3-ATX, 125w output, 6v to 24v wide input Intelligent Automotive DC-DC Car PC Power Supply

    EXTRA VALUE 2GB DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 MEMORY

And a cheap Bluetooth dongle that I got off ebay.

The sale doesn’t include a hard drive as it was one from my laptop, but any laptop SATA drive will fit.

The install is really neat, and I put it in the ‘glove-box’ behind the passenger seat. The system was nice and smooth and I ran Centrafuse on it. Unfortunately I cracked the screen between taking it out and bringing into the house! So that’s not part of the sale, but any VGA screen will work.

The reason I’m selling is that I am thinking of maybe selling my car due to my job and this is part of returning it back to standard – not that I’ve really done much to it.

Any questions, let me know and I’ll try and help.

I’m looking for £150 – I think delivery will be around 8 pounds…but if it’s under that I’ll refund the money, and over I’ll take the hit.

I’m based in Brentwood, Essex if anyone wants to collect.

    Cheers

  3. Front Brembo are 324mm

    Front non Brembo are 296mm

So, fitting UK Brembo rotors and calipers will gain you better braking than the EVO calipers.

I've never doubted that fitting the Z Brembos would be better than the Evo, it's what I have read on many forums. However, as I mentioned in my original post the question was a purely fitment rather than performance one...

  4. Personally i think it would be pointless more than anything. I had an evo 8 fq300 before the zed and i feel that the brembos on the zed are alot better than the evos. Im not sure what pads ive got on the zed but the evo had expensive ferodo ds2500 pads and good discs and still didnt stop as well as the zed. The zed would look good with the red brembos tho

I currently have non Brembos so that'd why I'm looking at options but I will go down the OEM Brembos route if needed, will just take time to save up and I'm impatient lol

  5. I don't know the fitment details but in the above a + b is not equal to c. Simple example (not sure if details are 100% correct, but that's not the point):

    1. Charger from iPhone 4 works with original iPhone

    2. Charger from original iPod works with original iPhone

=> Charge from original iPod works with iPhone 4.

In all likelyhood, you probably can figure something out. Question is whether it is worth it.

Yeah I understand your point, but in your example you can physically fit the charger into all the devices. It's just that Apple changed the pins or something... I guess I'm trying to understand what the equivalent for the Brembos is...

I can get the Evo calipers for free and can get a bracket fabricated from CNC free too. I also have three months off work coming up...so they are the things going for this. Just looking for the additional cons that i'm not currently not aware off... :)

  6. I've read quite a lot about the idea of putting Evo brembos onto the Z and the general jist is to not to do it as it's too much hassle. But I just wanted to entertain the idea and want to know if I'm missing something with my logic, purely based on fitment and not performance. I'm pretty certain I wont go down this route but it;s bugging me. So here's my logic:

From what I have read the 350Z Brembos fit onto the S14 as a straight bolt on

Many people have put Evo Brembos onto their S14 using a custom bracket

So from this, can the Evo Brembos not fit onto the 350 by using the same custom bracket as the S14?

As I've said before, I'm not doubting all the hassle that would go with the conversion and if it's really worth the effort, but I just wanted to know what I'm missing in my logic as stated above....

    Thanks!

  7. I'm looking for the wing mirror housing for both sides in any colour- I really have no idea what these would cost normally, I'm hoping not too much.

If anyone has any scrap or could point me in the right direction that would be brilliant.

    Thanks

  8. Hi all,

I'm after a back box and centre pipe that are in good working order.

My 350Z is a 2003 JDM, and I'm not sure if they have changed the design over the year and which years/models would fit? Could anyone also please shed some light on this for me?

    Thanks in advance.

  9. It's not too bad in the sunshine, but I haven't really been out when it's been too bright. So I'll have to update if I have any problems, but I think it should be ok.

Not 100% on how much I've spent altogether....I don't really want to price it up if I'm honest but I'll have to at some point and will let you guys know.

  10. Right, so I've finally got this in!

I totally forgot to take any install photos but intallation was much easier than I expected - albeit with a lot of help with the wiring from my housemate.

The centre tunnel console came out a lot easier than I expected and thanks for the help from @neo-ninja for the tips!

Anyway, here are the photos of the install:

I've still got to get a USB GPS receiver so that the maps within Centrafuse will work but that should pretty much be it.

May need to tidy up those wires a little bit, but thats just really tucking them in.

  11. Thanks for the warning.

I remember seeing JPerformance stuff on the Civic forums but just looking browsing and searching back on the forums there doesn't seem to be much about them since a couple of years ago. I know people did talk about getting decats for the EP2 from them.

Site and logo seem to have changed from what I remember it being though. Logo used to look like this:

    www.jperformance.co.uk/Other/hondatuninglist.pdf

  12. So most of the stuff for the PC arrived today so I proceeded to build and install on it what I can.

This is what I have so far -

    Lilliput 7'' Touchscreen

    M3-ATX PSU

Intel motherboard with integrated Atom CPU

    Bluetooth dongle off ebay

    and a case from LinITX.

as well as using the old HD from my Macbook.

Still waiting on the RAM. The RAM is used during the install was from my PC and was too tall to fit in the case due to the heat sink on it.

This is the mess that was during install.

And finally the PC running Centrafuse:

I'm pleasantly surprised at how quick and reactive the touch screen is and the system seems to be running well. Did a quick test with the Bluetooth and pairing with my iPhone and everything seems to be working fine.

Not too much to install after this so the hard bit needs to be done now - acutally fitting it into the car.....

Won't be able to do that for a while unfortunately due to exams and coursework but hopefully will be done by mid February.

  13. Thanks for the link - interesting to see what other people have done and it seems I'll probably go a very similar way.

An update and change - I have now bought a new motherboard and processor so I'll now be running a Intel Atom.

I was having too many problems with the old hardware and though spending £50 odd would be worth it in the long run, I have now ordered my screen which should both be coming soon.

In the mean time I've got the PSU today in the post- it's an M3-ATX and it's tiny!

    photoav.th.jpg

EDIT: Decided to get a case now as well, so I've pretty much just built a whole new PC now.....

  14.

    1) on the centre console of our 350z beside the 2 switches for the heated seats, whats the third button for? what have we not got for our car that should be that button?

*first one to say ejector seat is off my xmas card list!!!* :nono:

It's for the "Snow mode" on Auto Imports not for the roadster roof. ;)

Yeah, I've got an auto import and its for the Snow and Power modes - snow mode is sloooowww!

  15. When I was looking at my quote, parking in the garage was by far the most expensive and parking on the street the cheapest, was in the hundreds that I saved by saying I park in on the street (which I actually do). Can't remember the exact number tho, but was surprised how much of a difference it made.

  16. So it's been about 6 weeks since I got my Z I think....and I've just got around to posting back here - here are my pics! :D

Nothing done to the car yet - but am looking in installing a carputer type job in the New Year to be my first job on the car.

edit: turns out its more like 2 months ago since I collected it.....
