  1. Image attached if you need rough locations - though I've seen some with the middle 2 up higher closer to the number plate recess. Not exact measurements - but I hope it helps
  2. I'd be quite interested to know how the electromagnetic sensors perform on a Zed, at work we fitted some to a Z4M and the kit didn't work that well - whilst it did detect objects it only picked them up when they were very close to the car. I guess it could have been a cheap kit and I imagine that the material of the bumper and also the paint (if metallic) could also skew the performance? All guesses mind I could be wrong They sound good in theory though - I'd like some sensors fitted too as my parallel parking skills are not all that
  3. Ah so you're the guy who beat us to it I missed this one by 24 hours - so close! Good purchase mate and good going on the price too, I think you got a great car for the cash!
  4. Through not wanting to hijack the other welcome thread I've returned to my own Hit a slight snag, the car is currently on a cherished plate; the person I'm buying from has already been to the DVLA to get the current plate put on retention, just waiting the arrival of the new V5, MOT and TAX Disc before I can go collect. I was meant to collect this past weekend but because of the above that didn't happen. It's going to delay the collection by a couple of weeks, its not a big deal in the grand scheme of things but I am an impatient person and this is my affordable dream car; I can't wait to get my hands on the keys! Some info about the car: 2005 (05) plate About 83k on the clock GM Grey Alezan Leather GT Pack Seemingly unmodified (ideal!) Full nissan history (Every 6 months by the 1st owner due to the mileage being done) Condition looks very very good outside and in, only issues I can see are the driver's seat needs some TLC (perhaps a retrim depending on how it cleans up) and I'll probably have to get 2 of the wheels refurbished due to some bubbling corrosion on the edge of the spokes. Aside from that theres a mark on the subwoofer panel, looks like a scuff of some kind, but this one is just me being picky I guess! The seller made a demo video of all the car's toys to prove they work and everything appears in working order! The engine sounds fantastic, idles/revs nicely and sounds identical to a car I've test driven recently that had done a quater of the miles. He's asked me not to share the video since it has his own plate on the car which I can appreciate he wants to keep off the net! No pictures as the AutoTrader ad dissapeared the same day I put the deposit down Counting the days until collection!
  5. Yes please would love to see the results, £15 is cheaper than a retrim
  6. Sorry its on photobucket in a private gallery - can't link it to here! Here is a picture of the leather, screen cap from the video - this is the worst part of the car! For the most part just needs a good clean but some of it is a proper repair job I think.
  7. Will do thanks for the advice! I've driven another the same age, I remember that the clutch was not that heavy and that the biting point was about half way along the pedal's travel, it was an almost instant transition when it bit too. Gutted I could not afford the one I linked to - it was in fantastic condition, still - I do prefer the colour of the one I'm buying
  8. The fastest one Gun Metal with Alezan Leather. No pictures to hand unfortunately since the AutoTrader ad is gone as a result of my deposit. The driver's seat needs some TLC, possible recovering due to wear, it's not that bad but I'm really fussy Passenger seat is immaculate though! Its only a 2005 but has done 83k but was serviced every 6 months by the 1st owner due to the mileage done, all with Nissan from what I'm told too Its from a private seller, he was an absolute legend as I was unable to get time to go view the car being based quite a distance from him, offered to record a video overview of the car for me, showed all that was good/bad (not much bad looking at it) and had a little 'issue' with the bluetooth phone integration not hanging up and getting the number wrong during his demos! I'm buying blind to a degree, I've done the HPI check and all is good and the owner seems very legit (spoke over the phone for about 2 hours about the car), but at this point all I'm risking is a deposit - I'm going to pick the car up soon as the private reg is off the car - most excited I've been in years!
  9. Nah I managed to put a deposit one yesterday - slightly higher mileage than what I wanted, but it was a good spec with full dealer service history and a lot newer than I was expecting to afford
  10. The dangers of an edited post; replies taken totally out of context! Edited again to make more sense!
  11. Also wanted to chip in and say that this does seem to be one of the friendliest car forums about, my old Hyundai forum was less than welcoming and frankly I didn't return that often because of the elitest members who looked down on those who didn't have the Hyundai Coupe SIII All signs point to a much more long term membership here I phoned the owner to enquire about this car earlier in the week - was already sold; missed it by 24 hours apparently!
  12. Finally found a good one that I can afford (if only just)! Put a deposit on a 2005 350z GT today - Gun Metal Grey with Alezan Leather Can't wait to go collect it
  13. Ah that's not so bad, I'll likely be with Swift Cover since they've quoted the best price for me so far (however was on a standard car). I'm currently a named driver on my dad's policy driving his mondeo about since I'm currently car-less for the first time in 6 years!
  14. Sound advice, thanks a lot guys Spoken to the dealer, it turns out the car also has an induction kit fitted, from how they described it, it does not sound like a pop charger, but we'll see, I'm getting it inspected early next week. Will give my insurance a call! The newbie questions will stop soon!
  15. Hey guys I've got a quick question; A 350z I'm looking to buy from a dealer has what appears to be a K1 exhaust fitted, aside from this it appears to be factory spec, can you tell me how much of a difference should I expect to see for this single modification, if any? The car seems genuine and in good condition for the age - I'm just wondering if I'm going to get done over on insurance because of this single mod? Thanks!
  16. Well the Coupe has finally gone this afternoon Potentially going to view and maybe buy a Zed this weekend, pending an inspection Whilst it wasn't a Zed, the Coupe was a great car and (to a degree) will be missed! Having to make do with my Dad's shed of a Mondeo for now
  17. Thanks for the info I'll definately keep an eye out for a club car (seen a few I recognise on eBay from my browsing here!) Currently having a tough time finding a buyer for my current Hyundai Coupe, I guess the £435 tax is putting people off. Gutted really since my car was registered 1 month after the new legislation came in doubling the tax for the V6 Whilst I'd rather not go that route I've contacted a few garages about part-ex'ing the car against a zed but so far absolutely none of them have replied which is shocking! Even if it's a "no we're not interested, bugger off" type of response I'd accept it and move on!
  18. Yeah traffic's somewhat insane around 9-10am in Hereford! And yes there's some excellent roads around Malvern way that's for sure Truth be told I'm not having the best luck selling my current car, never quite reaches reserve price but I'll keep relisting it until it does finally sell. I'm hoping to have a budget of between £8,000 and £10,000 which all hinges on me selling the car for the best price. From what I've seen I should be able to get a half-decent 02-04 plate for that, which I'd be more than happy with! Some decent looking ones about at the moment too! Thanks again for the welcome guys - seems like a genuinely friendly forum, something I can't say about other car forum's I've been a member of in the past
  19. Thanks for the warm welcome guys - very much appreciated! I've driven past that same car every day on the way to work - even been in to see it myself a few weekends back It looks great but they were asking waaay to much for it, it's much more reasonably priced now but it doesn't have the GT pack which is top of my list of must-haves lol
  20. Hi all, I've been browsing these forums for some time now and I though that it's about time I introduced myself! My name is Paul, I'm a Graphic Designer from Hereford and I'm currently looking to buy a 350Z. I'm currently selling my '06 Hyundai Coupé V6 which is a lovely car, but lacks the power of a 'proper' sports car For a long time I've been mulling it over about what car to get as a replacement, thought about an RX8, Audi S4, even an Evo, but a friend of mine runs a small car dealership and took me out for a spin to get petrol in a 350Z he just bought in to stock and offered to let me drive back from the petrol station. That 5 minute drive absolutely convinced me - I gotta get a Zed Currently have my old car up for sale and am looking for a replacement right now, I wanted to say that so far this forum has been a massive help in knowing what to look for. Looking forward to participating in this forum! Cheers, Paul
