Had a look at the club insurer as well, however you have to be at least 30

Have any of the roadster owners noticed that it is significantly more expensive to insure than the coupé?
Looking at around £800 for the roadster whereas an equivalent coupé is less than £500.
Quotes for 24yo, 5years ncd, clean licence, no accidents, excellent postcode, experience with powerful RWD cars.
Tried a few different companies, elephant, bell, admiral(all the same company I know) LV, compare the money saving confused meerkat etc.
It just seems unjustifiable to me, to pay so much more for the roadster.

To be honest the crowd was severely depleted for the final, think there were a few people dragged away by their other halfs when a certain drifter was out of the competition
There were more drift cars in action compared to the eight that ran at the EDC at knockhill this year. Ok, the standard of the eight were very high and didn't spend the first half of the day seeing who could get the most air(did you see the mx5 ) or who could leave most of their bodywork in the gravel trap. However, they all deserve lots of respect as I know how hard it can be.

Thanks very much Vicky for organising the day
Had an excellent time, good to meet some fellow zed owners.
Was a bit shocked to see my car was the last left on the stand, the best drifting of the day was the final of the bdc.
It came down to the last couple of runs of the day to decide who won the championship overall.
Phil Morrisons S15 with a 2JZ was really impressive, and the twin drifting in the final was something to behold.
He definitely deserved the win.
Looking forward to the next meet/run.

At least he's honest, would you honestly expect someone to spend that amount of money on a car, then drive it like Miss Daisy??
He's out enjoying his car, although his "private airstrip" probably isn't the best place to do it.

Q: What does DTE stand for?
Not mentioned in "The Glossary" thread and you can't search as it's only three characters long.
I know what it is, just not what the abbreviation stands for.
Distance To Empty
For once in my life I got in 1st
You "arrived" first, probably wouldn't go shouting about that
Seriously though, thanks for that, had been bugging me.

Hi folks, I'm seriously considering tracking the car at Knockhill, however I've never been to a track day before(unless you count a drift day). Just wondering If I would be better off on the hot marques day on the 23rd of October, or something like the Livingston Autoparts day on the 30th? I just worry about over enthusiastic drivers being on the track at the same time.
This is why I'd be leaning towards the hot marques day. Are there any of the instructors from Knockhill available on the night? Only ask as I've been round with one of them piloting a seat leon, and wouldn't mind a few pointers.
Really looking forward to some track driving
ps, I take it any exuberance out of the real radio hairpin is frowned upon?

I'll take one of the remaining spaces, just picked up my zed at the weekend:-D
Be good to meet you guys.
Anyone else heading down from Aberdeen?
-
have you tried Admiral/Bell? - they seem to be good for zeds
Yeah I've tried them, with elephant currently, but it's taking a big jump to insure a zed.
Would be interested in going with the club to knockhill on the 26th if I take the plunge before then.

Just been having a look at some insurance quotes, has anyone else noticed that it is almost 50% more expensive to insure a roadster? Is this down to it being easier for a thief to break in?
I've previously owned a wide variety of performance cars and for some reason, even though I'm older now(24), the insurance is more expensive.

Where abouts in Scotland do you live?
I live just outside Aberdeen. Been to see a few others over the weekend, pretty set on getting one now, just need to be sure I can live without the turbo kick.

I suppose overall condition comes into it as well, seen some with the orange leather look worn in places: bolster, gear knob & handbrake.
Strange to have less torque in the higher hp cars, but as the saying goes: BHP sells cars, torque wins races.

Hello, been on the site for a couple of weeks now trying to gather information. I'm considering a zed for my next car, just have a couple of questions regarding the facelift that took place around 2006.
Firstly do the cars with the facelift interior all have the 300bhp engine?
Is it possible to have the 300bhp engine without the facelift interior?
Only asking as I've seen 2006 non facelift car advertised as having 300bhp engine.
Noticed a slight dip in price of the 06 plate cars without facelift, will this be due to them not being a facelift car(therefore not the 300bhp engine) and falling into the £400+ road tax band?
Finally could anyone tell me if they felt any noticeable difference going from a 280bhp car to a 300bhp one?
Thanks,
Steven.

Ah that explains it, I always assumed that they were the same insurance group.
Anyone know if this is the case? Would be interesting to know.
Thanks for the reply's guys.
