  1. Hi members,

I work as a boring accountant sitting in an office 5 days a week, so i needed something exiting instead of an a-b car.

I was looking for a sporty kind of 2 seater after selling my VX220 Turbo.

I looked at Z4/S2000/M3/TT but after test driving them, something wasnt quite there.

After driving the z I knew i had to have one.

1 month later I found a silver 2004 plate Nismo, Ive had it for only three weeks and can say um very happy with it.

I cannot say its more exciting as the vx220 but easier to get in and out off and has a decent boot for shopping.

    The Mrs also loves it.

VX220 turbos are very nippy cars. Are you missing the agility and handling?

I find zeds don't feel fast but in reality they can shift.

    Cheers

  2. My Golf GT TDI was getting a bit old. Bought my wife an S-MAX for the kids and my annual milage went down, so I could justify something less practical. Didn't want another generic looking hatchback (found myself driving with a golf in front & behind too many times).

Started to look around for cars in my price range. Porsches had inter galactic milage & poverty specs whereas the GT came with just about everything as standard.

After months of looking for the right one, found a zed with with the right spec. It had Nismo wheels & exhaust (didn't known what Nismo was at the time). Thought it might be too flash but my wife loved it! Didn't need any more encouragement than that. Bought the zed a couple of days later.

Now I find myself driving to work early & coming home early just so I can drive my zed. Buying loads of products to wash, clean, polish & wax her.

Think we need a zed addiction sub forum!

    Cheers

  3. hi i pick up my 55 uk roadster thursday (all going well) trading in my vx220 which iv had for 4 years ,i have to travell 50 miles up the m1 to get it so i can have a good blast on the way home, not sure what 1 it is gt etc but it has leather ,brembos, bose, dont knw if these are standerd ? cant wait, sorry to see the vx go but its time :byebye:

    Hi carlton,

Welcome to the club. I had to wait 7 days to pick my zed up. One of the longest weeks ever. Worth the wait though.

  4. Mines sounds exactly the same as yours  I was after an exhaust that was quiet on tickover, and has a roar at higher rev's - so the Nismo is ideal for me :)

My girlfriend asked me today why I always drive about with my window down when its freezing outside :blush:

I've been doing that too, although my wife hasn't been in the zed yet. If she complains I'll just put the headed seats on. Hmm might be a bit too warm for that at the moment.

  5. Lol...where do you live!? Was this just a totally unprovoked flip of the bird??

I've had mine just over half a year and never had the middle finger.

South coast in the middle. Totally unprovoked, which is probably why I found it so funny.

  6. Having had my zed for 5 days, I got my first mid finger today. On coming car had to give way as there was a parked car on the opposite side of the road. As I drove by up it popped. All this happened at 20 mph! Made me chuckle for quite a while.

We should all keep count & have a League.

  7. Thanks for all the replies.

At first I thought the Nismo wheels might be a bit too much although my wife liked them. Having seen them in the the flesh I think they set the zed of nicely. Still undecided about the Nismo exhaust. Puts a grin on my face every time I start jer up or put my foot down. Just hope the neighbors can forgive me :D

  8. Hello,

I've toyed with the idea of getting a 350z for months. The arrival of sprog #3 put plans on hold. But then one came up for sale that my wife liked so much I had to get it. Honest!

It's a bit of a step up from the diesel golf & so different in every way (for the better).

I'm finding I'm going to work early just because I can't wait to drive it. Then coming home early for the same reason. Drives to a from work take longer as I'm sticking to A and B roads instead of a short motorway sprint.

As I'm new to all this I'm sure I'll have lot of questions. Here's a few pic of our new arrival (the Zed not the baby)
