  1. That looks like a poorley Zed, sorry buddy. Did you have the ESP off? cause mine doesn't really let it go anywhere When its on. Its pretty well planted even with it off

Put some budget tyres on the front, then it's wey-hey, there's another roundabout to understeer off! Incidentally, that isn't a serious suggestion :p

  2. next on the list is porbably a v2 front or maybe just a varis splitter - not sure which yet.

Then probably the varrstoen black wheels with blue lip, and lowered.

Loving the side skirts and the rear bumper :) I'm really liking the smooth rear, IMHO better without a spoiler.

Has to be V2 for the front for me

  3. I'd get both at the same time imo. If the stock one is blowing, it'll take by far the most time in labour removing the existing one, adding cats at the same time doesn't take much time extra at all, may in fact make it easier to do as they can just remove it from in front of the cats rather than dealing with the very rusted bolts on the gasket at the other end of the cats.

  4. I got my skirts off chillired mate. Paul is selling his at a great price so I would jump in.... They are not green. Primed and ready to paint I believe

Ah well, maybe get them sorted at the same time as the front bumper then once wheels done.

Be good to see when you've got them on unabashed  Git ;)

  5. Yes  - a little

This is the skirts and front on my car with OEM suspension and rays

Sorry for a bit OT, but you mind me asking where you got the amuse sides from?

  6. Thanks mate yeah thats the one hit it good and proper word of advice to any 350 owners DO NOT drive over those posts that fold down to floor!!

    hmmm M chassis brace

lol sounds important, is it just for strength??doesnt seem like its bolted on for any other purpose than that (correct me if im wrong)

    Cheers for identifying part

It is pretty important for rigidity of the chassis. I'm guessing it may be a bit wobbly without it.

  7. It was... an interesting proposition on track. At brands I felt the brakes were pretty not good at all.

You do have to turn off the silly nannying esp though to have fun imho.

The main reason it's so bleedingly awful around town/slow driving is the completely unnecessary clutch delay valve. Means you just jerk around everywhere even with perfectly smooth shifts.

I felt much, much more body roll in the M3.

It is a great all rounder, but I found it tries to be too many things to too many people. I'd prefer an unrefined, louder, more involved car with less body roll and less weight, i.e the csl :D

Either that or I'd have something like a vette in the same category (price wise, I think) :D

  8. Hello Dallan,

can't think of one reason why you would get a clio V6 instead of a 350Z apart from the quirkiness factor. You've had a clio V6 before so you know what they are like. The 350Z is faster and better to drive than the clio and I expect more reliable.

This will be unpopular on this site but I don't think you can really compare a 350Z to an E46 M3. The M3 is a class above the 350Z in all situations. Its much faster, handles better, has a better ride, is better quality, has better fuel economy, has rear seats, a useable boot and although the brakes are sometimes said to be a weak point they are still better than the UK brembos on my car. Accordingly it also costs a F*$K load more to run than the 350Z. This is not putting any shame on the 350Z. It cost around £26k new compared to £44k for the M3. I'd say the 350Z is brilliant for a £26k car. I also think the M3 is brilliant for a £44k car.

Having gone from the M3 to the 350Z its not something I would do for anything apart from financial reasons.

Lots of people have the argument that the M3 looks boring, but this is the point, its not supposed to be bling. Also if you like the M3s I'd draw your attention to the Z4M coupes, excellent cars and more interesting to look at.

On the other hand at its price point the 350Z makes an excellent case for itself. I think you need to decide what money you are prepared to put into running the car and then it will be easier to make a decision.

All of those cars are 'good' cars so you can't really make a mistake whichever you go for as long as you can afford to run it.

    Mike

I found the M3 to be a compromise for all roundedness. It's faster, but it doesn't feel as involved and it's horrible to drive slowly. I did like the raspy exhaust for a while, but then started to loath it.

For me it always felt like an autobahn cruiser rather than a b road car. It is a big heavy saloon at the end of the day.

It just didn't tick my boxes, but then it may well work for others.

  9. I have to say i think the 350z has more class than the others... i see a BMW and usually a tit is driving it like an ***-hole!

Despite it being a Nissan it still has more class than a BMW, of-course that's my own opinion and people will probably hate that I just said alot of ***holes drive BMW's although they are good cars and well built...

I'm not sure I agree with you there.

Still, fixed it with a bit of silicone :p

  10. Sure, the M3 may be quicker in a straight line and faster around a track than a 350z providing the same driver, but I know which I find more fun in.

Maybe it was just me but the amount of roll in the M3 is awful and the standard brakes weren't up to much either, what's more I hated their stupid clutch delay valve and was always concerned about something big like vanos going.

Much prefer the Z, feels far more connected and involved (to me at least). Just my 2p.

  11. I was just wondering whether if you were to add the plenum spacer whether it would count as another mod, since it is technically changing the manifold, can't see anything else vaguely related on admiral.

  12. Only £12.50? Admiral wanted £80 from me.

Thought it was cheap, but £80 seems a bit steep? Interestingly, on one online quote it seemed adding a bodykit decreased the premium. Go figure.

  13. I toyed with the notion of sat nav in a double din unit, but the cubby hole above the double din is too convenient and saves you having the faff of worrying about the handbrake cables etc.

Also, the only sat nav double din unit I've seen sub £600 is the JVC KW-NX7000.

Love the pioneer avh3100dvd I've got and think it suits the Z perfectly, personally I'd get the newer version below and just stick a sat nav in the cubby hole above:

  14. Drag 2 years ago in my first NA Zed with breathing mods:

    14.1

    0-60 in 5.1 secs

Drag on same track last year with SC Zed (approx 400bhp)

    13.9

0-60 in 5.2 secs (no traction - the OE viscous diff was terrible)

Drag on same track this year with SC Zed (now with added Kaaz diff and R888's)

    13.2

    0-60 in 4.5 secs (est)

Crrikey, NA and 5.1? Just how much was it making NA?
