  1. Lovely work! Glad I found this thread because I've started to buy the bits I need to do this myself. May be in touch for hints
  2. Ah, I read a whole other thread about this and still couldn't wrap my head around the ohm thing. That one line has given my clarity! Ta
  3. Never a problem for me...
  4. I thought that would be the case. Next thing is to decided whether to go single or double DIN! Cheers.
  5. Hope this is in the right section. If I were to find the amp in the boot of my newly purchased (2005 model) Roadster GT, am I likely to find a spare input socket? I'd like to plug in a 3.5mm stereo jack for MP3 player purposes.

    205 GTi

    Heh, we inherited that sticker

    205 GTi

Anyone else here a glutten for punishment and a fan of the 205 GTi? I've had a couple of stripped out 1.9 GTis that my friend and I used for track days. I also had a rather tidy 1.6 Miami Blue GTi for a while. I'm now on my 3rd 205 CTi (convertible GTi), I tend to buy one each year and restore them up for the summer. The Miami: The best of the CTis I restored: The first track car:
  8. Thanks! That's a really good idea, I hadn't thought to use it like that.
  9. And what's the general consensus on this then? It was set on 6500 when I found it.
  10. Oh, I've got another question since I don't have the owner's manual! I was skipping through the trip computer when I came across the RPM figure, which I can change. What's that all about then?
  11. Hmmm, I'll have a look for that shortly, thanks. Who knows what I might find! That's a good idea actually, it does only have one previous owner. Seems odd that the garage I bought it from wouldn't ask for it unless it was lost. Worth checking though. Pricey. Might get onto trading standards about that! There certainly isn't £120 worth of work materials or experience goes into reprogramming a key! Thanks for the MOT info, I'll give them a call later.
  12. It isn't. It was from Cars To Go of Charminster. I know the name suggests a cut n shut garage!
  13. Picked up my 350Z Roadster GT today, very pleased as you can imagine - although not impressed with the weather! Back home now admiring her outside, thought I'd ask about a few things. 1. Only got 1 key with the car. How do I go about getting a blank key and reprogramming it? Cost? Ideally not through a Nissan stealership... 2. I don't seem to have an owner's manual either. Any idea where I can get one of them? It's an 05 model. 3. I asked the dealer owner if there were any advisories on the MOT when we were out for a test drive (as the car had just been through), the guy said 'no'. However, now looking at the MOT certificate there's a box that says 'Advisory Notice Issued: Yes'. Should I be concerned? Don't know if it's worth spending the money to put it through another test.
  14. Thanks. I was pleased with how it sounded on the factory exhaust. Might wait a while till I replace it and spend the money on some wheels. Don't really like those 6 spokes.
  15. Doesn't sound good Darren, bet that was a write-off. I had a bit of a knock in the Elise - cost someone without insurance £800. Was an expensive Burger King for them. Hope the same doesn't happen to the Z.
  16. Still without a 350... Until Monday at least! Collecting this Roadster GT. Can't wait!
  17. I looked at these recently, I personally think they're class leaders when you compare them to the EOS and Fous CC etc. I won't buy a new Peugeot though until they get rid of that bloody stupid fish grin. Nice choice in colour and trim though.
  18. I only do it with Prius to rebalance the CO2 output.
  19. I did - most bizarre. Will drop Tim a PM but they'll have to be quick, going to look at a car on Saturday. They'll be hard pressed to beat Direct Line as well I think. Cheers
  20. Does anyone else drop it down a gear when overtaking a Prius?
  21. Bit annoyed at this. Just called for a quote and was told that because I hadn't owned a 350Z for more than a year they can't offer me a quote. The first page here it say "and to insure a 'performance' car, there must be at least 1 years experience of driving that, or similar performance cars.". I've just had a Lotus Elise 111R for 15 months - quicker than the 350Z and a higher insurance group. Any idea why they don't put this in the same class as the 350? Not BHP surely?...
  22. I'm a terrible one for finding the perfect car before I've sold my current one. Best advice I could give you is sell your current car first. There will be other good deals, especially when it comes to cars like TVRs.
  23. Good good. As long as there's enough room to cram in a few dozen bottles of Belgian beer I'll be a happy man.
  24. Ah very nice. I had the pleasure of driving one of those whilst mine was in for a service. That said, I preferred the more brutal cam shift that my 111R had, than the smoother i-VTEC pull. So why did you switch to a Z?
