  1. Okay, so I picked her up and have been driving around and.......... (I can't find any words to describe it so ) will hopefully get some pictures up, but I plan to give her wash 1st as she was out in the rain yesterday. Now it's time to shop around for mods!!
  2. Hi peeps, I joined the forum several months back now, but today (in approximately 1.5 hours) will be the 1st day as an owner and I can't wait!! - Shame the weather isn't great though Anyway, thanks to the people who have given me some advice which has in turn help me choose the right zed. I can't wait to get started on the modding!!
  3. Hi mate, Just wanted to let you know that I will be passing on the Rota's. Thanks for your responses however and GLWTS. Ian
  4. Hi, As discussed in my PM, please put me down for 1st dibs on the Rota GTR's. However, I would just like to find out if they require spacers and are these the correct fitment for the 350z? (sorry - still very new to the car I've yet to pick up). Also I'm having trouble loading up the pictures, so I will have to confirm once I have I have seen the extent of refurb required. Many thanks Ian
  5. Having viewed 3 other cars before this, I have bitten the bullet and put a deposit on a zed, picking her up on Wednesday possibly Thursday depending on the bank. I can't wait!!!!!!! Thank you to those who have help me answer my questions, however just one last thing (and I should have asked beforehand but was too excited) it was imported in 08 but is on the lower tax band £245 per year. I though anything post 06 was over £400, not that I'm complaining. The seller just put tax on it and I have checked the dvla website, both which show £245. Is this normal?
  6. I seem to be struggling to find an ideal zed. The one that seems to top my list at the moment is: UK GT '53 plate Blade Silver 35k miles Rays Alloys Full service history including a new clutch and flywheel fitted Test drove already and drives like new with no unusual sounds Bad points are: Quite a few scratches on body work, but no dents or dings Tear/burn on roof lining Quite a few scratches on some interior panels (window switch panel and cubby door quite scratched up) Drivers seat quite scracthed up Fog light cluster has popped loose from bumper - but can easily be popped back into place I have negotiated £8700 with the seller to account for the above - what do you guys think? As far as I can see from inspecting/driving the car, all problems I have are cosmetic but is mechanically sound.
  7. How much would i be looking at for the roof lining and fitting?
  8. Ok, ANOTHER question from me peeps.... Can I get the roof lining replaced and how much approx. am I looking at for cost? The car I've seen annoyingly has a tear/burn on the drivers side and I just wouldn't be able to live with it should I decide to purchase the car.
  9. OH, and thanks for the info guys!
  10. Thank goodness I posted my concerns here 1st. I'll assume the given mileage is in miles and not km as the seller states... that's a bit of a let down
  11. Hi Guys. Right, basically Ive been looking around for a zed for quite a while now. I have managed to find one which I'm quite interested in and have managed to agree a price which the owner. The only thing that seems to be bugging me slightly is the mileage. It's a jap import, however the mileage is still clocking in km and reads 60000. I would look to get this converted back to miles, however 2 questions I'm hoping you could me out with here: 1/ Although the mileage in miles is approx 37000, would the fact the car reads 60000 put you off (I know it's kind of anal) - just to add, all of the MOT certs all show km 2/ how much and where could I possibly get this conversion done? (km - miles) Many thanks
  12. Brilliant. Thanks for the link!!!
  13. Dies anyone know if there is a history check for imported cars? Just to clarify, I'm nor on about a hpi check, but more of a check for it's life in japan etc for imports that don't have import documents. Thanks ian
  14. so tempted to take this even though I haven't even found the right zed yet. Only problem is I'm based in London
  15. Hi guys! Could possibly have found the right zed after searching for the last few months and looking to view and test in the coming week. I was just wandering, other than the usual, if there is anything I should look for that may be zed specific, ie common problems etc. Just in case it makes any difference, the model is a fairlady MY05 with 25k on the clock. Thanks in advance for your help, and I do apologise if there already is a sticky on this subject. Using the iPhone to browse the web and it isn't exactly getting the best connection.
  16. I feel I may fall into this trap of owning both. One for each day of the weekend!
  17. Lol, mine did have aftermarket front lip, 17's, cf vented bonnet on plus being slightly lowered giving it a much more aggressive look. Hope I don't offend anyone, but I actually don't like the look of either car box standard. Both have nice lines but I feel a kit on both changes the look dramatically. Saying that the nismo pack I believe you can get does look hot.
  18. A couple posts on modding I see, was wandering actually - can I expect significant gains from zed mods? With the s, you really had to spend loads or supercharged/ turbo the thing to see big gains. I'm more into NA, but being new to the zed, would be interested in researching this before I start slipping down the slippery slope. Must admit, some of your posts (especially from those who have owned/driven both cars), is giving me the itch to really want to buy one right now, lol.
  19. Thank you all for your responses. Didn't expect so many people to have made the switch between the two cars. Like some have mentioned, the nature of vtec engines are so much fun especially being able to come off roundabouts and corners in vtec. This is what I know I will be missing. I just don't want to make the switch regretting it hence whyi was hoping for a little feedback from you guys. Again as some have mentioned, looks wise and all the little extras you get with the zed, icertainly won't be missing out. I think all the comments here plus votes from friends, I'll most probably be buying a zed although the s2000 will always have a place in my heart. Just don't know if I want a manual or triptronic version, and don't know what colour. Lol hopefully I can officially announce my status as a zed owner in the coming months once I've done my research, decided what spec, year, colour I want.
  20. Budget will probably be around 12.5k. I do love the drive of the s2000, it's a fun raw car hence why I would still consider buying another. Many of my friends have voted the zed. Looks wise I'm not concerned as I like both. At the moment, I must admit I am ever so slightly swaying more towards the zed, mainly because it's a car I haven't owned and as mentioned above, is more modern and aggresive looking. Choosing the zed then leaves me another problem. What colour to go for as I do like it in red, black and White. And is the jdm triptronic version as good as manual?
  21. Hi all, I've just registered on the forum after lurking around the faqs and info on this website. Situation is as follows: currently an s2000 owner which I recently binned. Prior to buying the s2000, i was choosing between that and the 350z but opted for the s as the right deal came up. I am again deciding between the 2 cars which I look to purchase around April time to give myself plenty of time to find the 'right' car. My problem is I can't make my mind up as I like both cars but never driven a zed. Are there any zed owners who have made a switch from the s or vice versa? Which car do you prefer drivewise? I hope not to bore people with my questions and I'm hoping for a non bias answer if possible. Thanks in advance. Ian
