  1. Thats for that, I was expecting silly money to be honest, I've found a couple of reputable place local so will make a few calls.

I've found a nice black Zed that is the right spec and the right price but i don't want the black seats in the otherwise black cabin of a black car and after spotting a dark edition 370z I fancy dark red seats, grey wheels and badges but need to make sure I don't go over budget.

  2. H i there,

Can anyone give me a ball park figure on what sort of money I would be looking at to have both seats, the lower section of the steering wheel, the gear stick and gator retrimed in another colour?

I've found a Zed I like the look of and have a cunning plan to make it look a little different whilst remaining quite subtle.

    Many thanks, Dean.

  3. Hi All,

I'm on the look out for my first Zed which has resulted in me finding a few I like the look of, I've sent a couple of email with the usual questions but can't help but notice the 3 of the 5 I'm interested in have owners that are working out of the country and friends will send me additional pictures or relatives will be viewing the car with me....while this may well be true it seems a little odd that 3 of the 5 owners are away.

Should I be concerned? It's been a long while since I've bought a new car.

    Thanks, Dean.

  4. Afternoon all,

I'd keen on both the clio 255 V6 and the 300bhp 350z and wondered if anyone had owned or spent time behind the wheel of both as I'd be interested in peoples views.

Practicality isn't an issue as I'm after a weekend sunny evening type of car, running costs seem about the same, purchase price is also about the same and reviews for both are very good.

    Thanks.

  5. Man, you ******* got your Z's for bargain money!

16k for a 296 is a bit much. If he's a private seller I don't think it should be going for more than 15k, unless it's in perfect nick and just been serviced/taxed etc.

15k was what i had in mind although if the pics are anything to go by it looks near perfect, I'm waiting to hear back on what service it last had and when and how much tax remains....I'm not keen on weighing out £435 at all let alone soon after buying one.

  6. I've spoken with the owner over the last couple of days and following investigation he has all but come round to realising that the car is not the 313 and he sent me a picture of the engine which is most definatly not the 313.

The add has been adjusted on pistonheads but the price has remained the same, i have enquired about the a reduction on the price to reflect the fact it isn't a 313 and the although he is ok to consider a deal of some description he says that he doesn't think it makes much difference if it is a 313 or a 296 due to the condition and low mileage but i wondered what anyone elses thoughts were on a realistic price?

  7. Thanks for all the info so far but would someone be able to tell me what the actual differeces are between the rear lights, the timing cover, the front bumper and interior on 276 and a 296.

I'd like to hit the chap selling with as much evidence to support it not being a 313 as possible.

296 has LED rear lights, 276 has regular bulbs

296 doesn't have an orange reflector strip on the side of the headlights, 276 does have reflector strip

296 has fewer and fatter horizontal bars on the front grill than 276

    Not sure about timing covers

313 has all the features of the 296 but has a totally different engine and a bulge in the bonnet to accomodate the different (and taller) engine.

276 and 296 have single air intake, 313 has twin air intakes

    Hope that helps :D

Thats about as detailed an answer as anyone could hope for...thanks very much.

  9. Thats a trader a trader as well. Best bet is to look on here and find one....... and what ever you do dont buy one from s20004u, yee haa

I've been keeping an eye on here but not much seems to come up and sadly not the spec I'm after which is why I'm keen on that one which bar price ticks all my boxes.

Whats wrong with S20004u? i had noticed that they seem to have quite a few availalbe.

  10. I'm suprised the owner doesn't know what car he has too, that does strike me as odd....i can't work out if he is a dealer or private seller.

The pics look like its kept in someones street and there is no link to a dealer website at the bottom of the add like all other dealer adds but the top of the add says ccc limited.

  11. Thanks for the speedy replys.

If the owner is convinced he has a 313 and he is saying Nissan GB back that how would you suggest i prove other wise to the owner....he must have it priced to sell thinking he has a 313 so if i can provide conclusive evidence it is not a 313 this would put me in an improved positon regarding negotiating a better price.

  12. Hi All,

I'm on the look out for a decent 350z, ideally a 313 but realistically it will be the 300 version, my search had led me to a rather nice looking 2006/56 model which is being advertised as a 313 version but the pictures show a car with the normal bonnet rather than the bulged bonnet which i understand is to accomidate the taller revised 313 engine.

I've emailed the owner asking various questions regarding history etc and mentioned that i was assuming that the add stating it was the 313 model was a typing error and could he confirm if it was a 276 or 296 model but the owner has come back to me this morning saying that he has been in contact with Nissan GB who have assured him it is a 313 version and has kindly offered me the chassis number so i can make my own checks.

What is the story here? am i mistaken and there are 313 versions with the older style bonnet, i'd be grateful if someone could clarify as i might have fallen in love with this car a little bit.

  13. As already said if you want the cheaper tax bracket then 15k maybe a little over the top even if the car has very low mileage, if you have that budget why not look at new ones with the better interior, better engine and just suck in the extra £200+ tax...

Or get one in a proper colour ( not just primer ) and without the David Dickinson leather :p

Makes sense...for the sake of a couple of quid extra on tax the plus points seem to out weigh the minus points.

The thinking behind the Dicko leather was that with a grey car I'd like the inside to be nice and bright.

  14. Excellent...thanks very much for the speedy and very informative replys.

Thankfully i have a company credit card for all my fuel needs so that'll cut down on my outgoings...nothing quite like a little white lie on my mileage claims to top up my weekend car :D

So i won't get a 296bhp on the cheaper tax? i don't know why but i had in my head that the cut off date for cheaper tax was March 23rd so when I've been looking on Autotrader and pistonheads that's what I have had in mind.

I keep checking various website with 350z for sale but have yet to come across exactly what i'm after....if anyone knows of anybody on here who may be looking to move on to pastures new in June, July time I'm all ears.

    Thanks again.

  15. Hi All,

i've been dipping my toe into the forum over the last few months researching bits and bobs while looking into a potential new car, as time has gone on the list had dwindled and the 350z has made it to my short list and for my first post i wanted to pose a few questions if i may.

My first is regarding what i should expect to get for my budget of 15K in terms of spec, year, mileage etc.

Ideally I'd be after an 06 plate (cheaper tax bracket, it will have a private plate on it anyway), 296 bhp, gun metal grey, low miles, low owners, orange interia but not too fussed, sat nav, bose etc....is that a realistic spec for 15K?

I'm also keen on getting a grip on servicing costs, i've keep hearing vastly different prices for the P1, P2 and P3....can anyone give me an idea please?

Are there any big potential maintenence costs beyond basic servicing that i may have missed? I'm after a 3rd car for weekend use so mileage would be kept pretty low but i wondered if there were any inherrant problems that have cropped up.

And finally, just out of curiosity, has there ever been a recorded 0-100 time for each of the 3 engine specs? to date I have only seem the 309bhp quoted at 13.3 (I think) in Evo magazine.

Thanks in advance for any replys.
