  1. I can only speak for myself and those that i know who have had it done and its a definite yes. The uprev gives the car a lot more low down torque which gives the car a real boost. Only way i can describe it is you get power delivery all the way through the gears. But its not a massive power boost if that is what you are expecting.

I liked the sound of the stock exhaust and in all honesty if mine hadnt broken on an activity day i would most probably have kept it. However i replaced stock with a miltek. Its a nice quality sound but after a while i found it was too quiet. To fix that i added the berks hfcs and all i can say is wow. Benefited the next uprev and gave me awesome sound, car now sounds like a real muscle car. You do get a tinny rasp around 4-5k but you get used to it and i know love it.

Trouble is to have all that in one go is expensive. Not sure how far away from guildford you live but if you wanted to pop this way i could take you for a spin and you could make a comparison.

Sorry didnt get back to you on the pm but only just got back from the hoon and spent most of yesterday sleeping to recover. Regarding the performance tuner near silverstone i cant remember their name - glrnet will know.

I think I'm going to go for it, my reservations have come from when i got the car at the start of the year and I promised myself that i wouldn't go down the modding route again....25k later i learn't that with my pulsar :teeth: I'm not expecting a turbo like boost, far from it, and although I've read lots of posts with people having good things to say I just wanted to ask the question and double, double check I'm doing the right thing...my wife would disagree if she found out but i like living on the edge!

No worries about not coming back, I've managed to get an ok price sorted and am going to go with that.

  2. Evening all,

This question is quite subjective but I'm going to throw it out there anyway and see if anyone has a view.

My car is a mechanically standard 57 plate 313 and I've been doing a bit of reasearch into some modifications, my investigations have led me to the point where I'm now looking at berks HFC, Milltek exhaust, Cosworth panel filters and an uprev.

Coming from a turbo background (Pulsar) i always got a lot of 'go' for the money invested which made it all seem worth while, obviously with the zed the gains are limited in comparrison so my question is really to those who may have been in a similar situation to myself but bit the bullet and spend good money on mods similar to those that i am looking at...was it worth it? are you glad you did it and would you do it again?

    Thanks in advance.

  3. I suspect, with your UpRev Abbey would recommend an upgraded panel drop-in air filter and then some type of cat-back exhaust upgrade... maybe Motordyne or HKS...

Personally, I've had stock, Nismo and Stillen air intakes on my 313. Nismo sounded the best, Stillen looked the best and the stock box gave the best power across the full rev range.

If i end up going with a new exhaust system i want standard looking pipes, i'm not into anything oversized or obvoiusly aftermarket...and nowt to loud, i don't want to **** the neighbours off and more importantly i don't want the wife to notice

What sort of gains did you see with those mods? I've not seen a lot of people posting power gains for 313s.

  4. Evening all,

I've been thinking about an uprev for my 57 plate 313 on and off for a little while and have been looking through lots of peoples threads on the subject to the point where i think I'm on the cusp of biting the bullet and getting it done however, as i have been looking around i have started to think maybe if I'm going to get an uprev maybe i should get a few other bits and bobs done to make the best of it.

My car is currently totally standard...with the exception of a bit of paint and wheels...and if i ever come to sell it i would want to be able to put it back to standard so my question are:

    What mods would you recommend?

Where would you suggest getting them from?

How much am i looking at spending?

    Thanks in advance.

  5. A remap, whilst not giving massive power gains, drastically improves the power delivery. Makes the car feel more responsive and it also removes the barrier so that you get full throttle in all gears.

For £1k I'd get a new front bumper (amuse or Nismo) and a remap done

I've had a look at remaps and like the sound of what I've read so far...I'm really not into mucking about with bumpers and spoilers...I think there is only one zed I've ever seen with replacement body mods that i like.

  6. do you want to go faster, handle better make the interior nicer, Ice?

I wouldn't want to fiddle with the interior and I'm not too fussed about ice and as I don't use the car on track the standard handling set up more than copes the way i drive so I'd say performance.

Do basic exahust/filter/remap type mods really make much difference to performance? does the 313 respond well to them and would I actually feel the difference from behind the wheel or is it more about the enhanced accoustics? I have always been a little synical about the real world difference those sorts of mods make to N/A cars.

  7. Hi all,

I have been giving some thought to changing my standard exhaust and was after some advice on what I should go for.

I want something that sounds a bit beefier but not anything that could be considered obnoxious and overly loud, just something a notch or two up from standard. In terms of looks I like subtle, I'm really not into anything too ott or chavvy that doesn't suit the car, a wee power gain wouldn't go a miss but it isn't my priority.

Can anyone suggest what and where I should be looking at and how much I'd be looking at parting with.

    Many thanks, Dean.

  8. I reset when leaving Brighton for the 70 mile trip home yesterday and driving between 70 and 80 with a bit of traffic i made 29.4 mpg which i was really pleased with.

  9. As for Dean,

If you are going to give someone a thumbs down, and least have the courtesy to explain what it is you dont like and why :)

I am a fan of subtle mods, less is more, and it's all a bit too much for me, I'm not a fan of kits and wings and I think with the zed there are only a few sets of rims that enhance the cars look.

Or to put it a more topical way, if it was a woman it would be Katie Price but i prefer Kate Middleton :D nothing wrong with either but each to their own.

  10.

To be honest Dean its probably better to just keep that to you yourself after someones just spent thousands on their car...........especially when its someone who's as big as Jed :scare:

Got to be honest Jed Veilside isn't really my thing either but I think the job and the colour are pretty spectacular. Liking the 2 tone look as well.

I appriciate that a few quid has been spent but is a thumbs down icon that bad??? surely not.

  12. If you are near the SE you can have a free pressure washer, its an own brand halfords one I think. I am moving soon and nowhere to pressure wash :byebye:

I just bought one of the own brand one from halfords...it was only £50 and does a decent job on the car....not sure it'd be up to cleaning patios and the like but it's spot on for the car without breaking the bank.
