Yeah have to meet up before you go mate, I think 1 of the blokes gave you a bell on Friday to see if you were about. There is a UK same as mine in Paderborn, Wookiee on here has it, nice bloke helped me out with lights for the BFG. Saw a German GM on Friday again flashed lights but nothing back. Might be up your way again on Friday night, Let you know if I am.

Hi Rob will have to meet up soon mate im off to Canada in the near future but will give you a shout when i find out more on what is going on. Think there is another 350z down in Paderborn same as yours spotted it about 4 weeks ago waved but got nothing in return from him.

Yeah eventually got through the test, had a drama with emissions which turned out to be 2 broken lambda sensors. Gonna get the lads on here to convert my spare headlights to xenon LHD when they are all up and running. Insurance is through the NAAFI as I just changed the vehicle from my 300ZX, its for renewal in September so will hunt around.

Hope the tour is going ok mate, remember stay low and move fast haha.

Well firstly I have to admit that the Z was not pushing the right buttons and after all the mucking about getting it legal for Germany I was pretty p1ssed off with it.

That was till yesterday, cleaned her up and did all the fluids and some niggly bits to her and then went for a blast in Paderborn. ESP off and unrestricted autobahns certainly put the smile back on my face.

So can now officially say I will be keeping her and keep an eye out for some more mods soon.

So tempted mate, was planning for the end of the month but I'm on a course for work now so was thinking next weekend. Where you staying down there?

Hi Rob, firstly nothing really to worry about, you do get a fair ammount of "blow off" oil in the plenum, just take it off, wipe out the inside of the plenum and then tighten up all the bolts again, be careful though on the tightening, dont over tighten them... You might just find the bolt is loose!

 

Take some pics of the inside of the plenum when you do uit, there shouldnt be loads, but a smattering!

 

Then just keep an eye on it. Cant tell from the pics but guessing its the middle back bolt hole?

Bit of a problem, I have a small oil leak coming from the front middle bolt head recess on the plenum.

The previous owner had a plenum spacer fitted but I dont know the details of it etc.

Its not a great deal coming out, there isn't and spray on the inside of the bonnet or anywhere else in the engine bay.

Any help would be great, due to being in Germany and Nissan dealer being the only realistic option its going to have to be a self help solution, cant just nip over to Abbey for help.

Just to add to what Gaz said about the first aid kit. It cant be a small cheap one, it has to meet German laws, Halfords did one iirc but cant remember how much.

Right then, here is my thoughts for my first Nurburgring lap. I've been there but didn't get round the track as it was shut due to an accident.

I plan to go down on the Friday 30th July after work and overnight somewhere. There is a race on on the Saturday, the 7th VLN Endurance race, tickets for the paddock and grandstands are 12 euro and viewing on the Nordschleife is free. The track is then open on the Sunday from 0800 - 1930.

If any one in Europe or UK can make it then great, would be good to get a few Z's together at the ring.

I'll post more details as when I get them.

I borrowed a set for the test and swopped back afterwards. Gives me a year to sort out but am finding out about the set in the cellar and as said I have dibs on wookies. Where did you get yours from?

Hey mate im in Paderborn if you get anything set up may be interested in what you do with them.

I have sat in the cellar a set of halogen bulb LHD headlights. (They're not Niisan parts) My problem is my car is a Xenon version.

I have to keep them LHD as I live in Germany but I want to do something non-standard to them. I like the BMW style "Halo" lights and seen some with LED's in the top of the light. Also I hate the orange strip so that would have to go. Oh and importantly make them compatible with my car.

Any ideas who can do the work at a reasonable price or is it a DIY job?

I'm looking at going to the Ring on Sunday 13th June. Looking at driving down on the Saturday, staying in a hotel for a 0800 arrival at the track on Sunday.

Circuit is open 0800 - 1930.

Going to try and get blokes from work to come but will prob go anyway if I cant.

Hopefully see some of you there if you can make it.
