Eibach lowering springs From Cougar Store 350z
Glennc91 replied to MITZ@CougarStore's topic in Cougar Store
Exactly the same as that mate, Ordered the Pro Kit along with some 20mm spacers yesterday afternoon and they're sitting next to me already. great service so far, anything else i need for the wagon il be giving you a PM first. Cheers CS!! -
the new E90 is a fantastic car. and i was tempted to get an E46 M3 before i went for the Z. trouble is for 16 grand i can have an awesome, one of a kind 350z GT4 or an M3 thats done 120k. then you have things like the vanos module thats ready to die when the cars 5 years old, and thats a grands worth not including labour! great cars indeed, but i wouldnt want to own one out of warranty

did you have to look up how to spell jodpuhrs??

you must admit though, you did feel slightly tosserish for that month didnt you... c'mon we're all friends here we wont tell anyone

Haha, the funny thing is, most bmw drivers will concede the same thing!

Whatever your preconceptions of BMW drivers, there is a sort of magical change that happens to normal people when put in charge of one of these smug emitting machines. My best mate drives a 2004 Renault Clio 1.2. hes not much of a car person, you know the type, "as long as it gets me from A-B..." However, when daddys home from work at the RBS building in London, the afore mentioned 25 yr old clio driver has the use of the old mans 135d. and what a difference in attitude towards other road goers! its miraculous. manners go out the window! ok sure the cars much nicer/newer/more powerful, but im sure its just as much to do with those few reasons as it is the badge on the bonnet. But then on saturday morning, march 20th at 11:30ish, i was driving the zed through a usually very quiet Mount Farm industrial estate which is a well used shortcut from milton Keynes to Bletchley (in buckinghamshire). i was going rather quickly shall we say as there wasnt much around and coming the other way was a well dressed chap in a new silver 520 (probably on his way to golf dont you know) frantically flashing his lights and waving his arms. so i put the brakes on and looked in my mirrors as he went past, more to see what his problem was. then as i got to the bottom of the hill, doing a steady 29mph, out it jumps with its high viz-tosser outfit & radar gun in its hand. Very lucky escape all thanks to silver beamer guy. wherever you are, whoever you are, i love you.

Nice one cheers, Glenn = Slow learner

Yeah Craig Mudd, embarassingly bought Fast-Car magazine cus i saw the Zed on there. The write up isnt as good as the car deserves though, some chavtastic civic got much more of a feature. mind you the lads who buy these mags are more likely to be able to afford and mod a 93 civic than a sweet zed like that one.

ok i just noticed the post about the rears sinking in after being lowered. i think i will see how it looks once the springs are on, then re-assess it. That is also the next time the wheels will be off so i will check the offsets then
-
yeah i get your point, but i thought the point of spacers was to bring the wheels in line with the arches? surely if the rears are already there it doesnt need any? just when i thought i was starting to get my noggin round all of this...
-
The rear wheels come all the way to the edge of the arch though? if i put spacers on at the back they will come outside the arches and i thought that was illegal?
-
Im not sure how to feel about that last post there Stew theres no avoiding some of the ones round my way! if you had to go over a few of those nasty, short, yellow and black rubber style speed bumps, you know the buggers im talking about, would you regret your set up?
-
Mine has had the rear spats blended for 2 years+ and looks as fresh today as ever, i think they look pretty poor if they arent blended, at the risk of offending some people you'll be very happy when its finished!
-
Are you happy with all the edges and how it fits?
-
OK after a few days of feedback from this thread, i feel like i have been schooled in the way of the wheel. I literally hadn't noticed the wheels hiding away in the front arches, so after a quick look and a touch of research on the Z-store, I will be ordering the Eibach system4 20mm spacers for the front. They should coax the wheels out to match the rears, so they both sit flush in the arches. The rears seem to be fine as they are. Then, as a few of you are keen to point out it now needs lowering, i will be oredering the Eibach springs Pro-Kit. 30mm drop front and back. I am kind of worried about scrubbing, and smashing my front lip on speed bumps, so if anyone has a similar sort of set up i would be interested to know if theres any problems? won't be this week as the inconsiderate wench of a girlfriend decided to have a birthday.... but it will be soon, pictures to follow!

oh and by the way is carbon fibre not black

nice one for all the complimentary posts on here, I crave the acceptance of you lot! where i live im the daddy driving this thing, but im small fry on this forum

oh i see, thanks for the info on the rules of offset, you dont ask then you'll never know i bought them off a friend of mine who runs Vogue Autodesign. very swanky wheels for even swankier motors. i called a few of the wheel distributors and they all told me that i couldnt get any wheels for the 350Z GT4. as you can tell i am no mechanic, so i took the word of someone who knew what they were talking about. until i spoke to nick from vogue. he said the 20's would go straight on if they were wider at the back, which after consulting you lot, turned out to be true. so unfortunately, theres no link to any websites to tell you the offset im afraid. take a look at some of their motors though if you get a sec, they specialise in 3-peice wheels if that makes any sense to you. The GT4 wheels are sat in my garage, just waiting til i have the cash spare to get them refurbed mate, so theyre very much available
-
hahahahahahah, i read that mandeep thing last week, brilliant! ok well clearly i am clueless about all that, what is the offset the measurement of then?
-
sorry they're a tad dirty

Yeah the skirts are blended, makes a real difference i think. i should really put some high res pics on photobucket but my camera is sadly lacking. using iphone most of the time
