  1. I had a pretty rubbish couple of days, got out of work early after my last night shift, yaaaaay!, Bike wouldn't start just a 'click' when starter prodded, wouldnt bump start either, bum!

Kat works at the same place as me on day shift and had just started, so the Z had just been parked up near me. I got the keys off of her and jumped in to be faced with a two foot crack in the screen from left to right about 4" from the bottom of screen, grrrrrrr! I drove home carefully and i could hear it creaking as it was moving over bumps etc, gulp!

Anyway got home ok phoned insurance and was all sorted with an appointment to replace screen within 15 mins, all good so far. 2 days later the guy turns up on time was very friendly, very polite and explained everything he was doing. Loads of bits came off before old screen could be pulled out, it was a lot of work, it was nearly 3 hours in total. I just wanted to say how pleased i was with the efficiancy of it all, not often one can say that these days.

By the way........Kat hadn't noticed the crack! :surrender:

    Insurance was Swinton.

    Screen replacement by AA windscreens.

  2. very sorry for you mate, i had EXACTLY the same accident just over a year ago, TC on and everything. Wrote mine off too...

I felt sick for ages imagining if somebody had been walking down the grass verge i was skating over before i hit the tree/bushes. Still feel a bit ill now and again thinking about that.

Good news is i ended up with an even better Z with lower miles!

I really hope you manage to get back in the saddle mate, if you feel down about it just chat to the loons on here...cant stay sad for long listening to their insanity

  3. Not yet, but im seriously thinking about it, i tried to pm Zugara because he had a similar pipe with a few issues in fitting, but it says he can no longer accept pm's !?!?. I wanted to grill him about it!

  4. Looks like a lot of work has gone into the build too, the video on that ebay listing has a sound clip fitted to an Infinity G35, sounds sweet. I'm tempted

Is there usually an issue fitting US spec pipes to UK cars?

  5. And do you remember Philip island 2003, i think it was, when he got a massive 10 sec time penalty and still managed to win?

Plus, i think Yamaha are more keen to win anyway they can, rather than win by being different, a la Ducati.

    Avanti Valentino!

  6. Im really pleased! i think there is no shame in leaving Ducati, they could be struggling for years yet, every minute they are trying to catch up, Honda and Yamaha are improving and refining their already sh*t hot bikes. If he was 5 years younger then it would be worth a shot, but he only has maybe 3 seasons left before retirement. Vale should not retire as a loser.

People go on about Stoner having no trouble winning on the Ducati and i agree he is a skillful rider, but Rossi has that special something extra, although he needs the right 'feel' from the bike to be a podium contender, when he gets that feel he can do things that seem to defy the laws of physics and logic. Stoner will only ever be a very good rider...Rossi can be supernatural :notworthy:

Oooh, i think that was a rant, sorry :teeth:

  7. Had the same thing happen to me on a family holiday to Wales in a Maverick with 6 people aboard. The day after we arrived, we set off through the little country lanes, felt some vibration so i stopped and checked....1 bolt remaining :scare: sent the others guys back down the road and they found 3 bolts within 100 metres, strange.

Was scarey seeing as we had driven for 3.5 hrs at motorway speeds the day before.

So im paranoid with bolt tightening now, as you can imagine.

  8. Im friends with a French couple who live here, lovely people.....they hate the French though!! If they hear anyone speaking French on holiday etc they run in the other direction!

Personaly i've only had good experiences with French people (ooer that sounds a bit wrong) but i feel like the minority...

  9. I guess this has been discussed before, but today, for the 1st time i cleaned the Z using a watering can....

Jeez, what a pain in the rear! had to do 1 section at a time cos thats all the watering can would rinse. So 5 watering cans full to rinse the full car, each can took around 4 mins to fill with the hose (in back garden so no neighbours can see!), so thats about 20 mins of constant hose action :scare: . Im sure i normally would only be using the hose for about 5 mins normally to rinse.

It probably took 3 times as long as normal and its not as clean as i really like either.

The logic of all this escapes me...

Has anyone actually been fined the £1000 yet?

Have you checked out southern waters website as we dont have a hosepipe ban!

    http://www.southernwater.co.uk/HomeAndL ... 510429=0_0

:yahoo: didnt see this bit of the website before!! The bit i looked at just said 'Southern Water----hosepipe ban' you've just made my day mate

I want to know if those who do have a ban can claim back some of their bill, they have paid for a service that the company has failed to provide, i wonder what the legal standing would be?

  10. D'oh! i realised that im actually working nights over the 5th...i thought we were both off. I will try and get up early and make it and then just be spaced out at work later (i only work with complicated heavy machinery, so no problem with that  ). Kat will be working days so no chance of her making it (she's not happy  ).

  12. I had mice that came in off the golf course next to my house that ate 20kg of cat food!!!!

How did you know? were they wearing Pringle??

We had mice in a house we rented years ago, Kat pooped herself one night when she saw something that defied belief. We had a small unit with 2 shelves, she saw a mouse clambering up the back onto the top shelf, the shelf below had books and stuff on it and hanging down under the shelf was a little mouses rear end swinging in the breeze. Kat yelps 'sh*t look at the size of that f*cker aaaahhhhhhhh!!!'

She thought it was a massive, foot long mouse!:lol::lol: It was just two mices on a mission, like little ninjas :ninja:
