  1. This may sound out of place but If you are going for practical on that budget I doubt you will get much that is exctiting and reliable unless you are looking at high milers.

I took the standpoint that as whatever I bought was not going to match the performance I may as well get something that was perfect at the job and was on budget. Which in my case was a qashqai.

I know its tempting to try and emulate the driving thrill but you may find when you look around you can get much more for your money if you are prepared to look at less "exciting" drives. its difficult to do but may be worth just seeing what else is out there :headhurt: Good luck!

  2. I noticed that after my accident last year I started getting texts saying that I was due compensation from my injuries... so the insurance companies sell the information on too, all a bunch of twunts I say

I dont think its the insurers - I had a couple after mine was ran in to -I have persued it with my insurer who assure me they never pass on details to third parties without my consent and would not in my case as there was no injury (it was all internal too the person who ran in to me was with same insurer) so the only possible culprits are the repairing bodyshop, the insurance register if it hold personal inf like mobile no. or a sole employee who is simply feeding the info to these parasites. Either way I dont think Ill find the source.

My insurer said they had been recieving and inrease in complaints of this nature and I gave them all the info so they can keep an eye on it.

When they ring I calmly tell them under the data protection act i am hearby instructing them to remove all details from their systems and they do not have my permission to hold them.

  5. Having a bit of a clearout....

4 Part war Bidgestone RE40A tyres - 2 x 225 (front) - with about 5-6 mm id guess - plent of life in them and 2x245 one just above the wear markers (so about 2mm) and one with a bit more (so maybe 3 mm). Depths are approx as i dont have a gauge to hand.

I was keeping these as spares or for a track day maybe suitable for someone thinking to do similar - no repairs. Looking for £20 for each of the fronts as they have plenty of tread but only £5 for each of the rears or £50 for all 4.

Collection only from chesterfield and no silly offers - I have an idea to use these as planters so if no one wants them i have a good use for them.

Subject: Father's Day Classic Car Show at Harewood House - UPDATE

    To:

    Dear Exhibitor

We have looked at the logistics of rescheduling the Fathers’ Day Classic Car for later in the year and, unfortunately, for a number of reasons this will not be possible. This is a real disappointment to all of us.

The entry/administration fee that you have paid for this year will be carried over as a credit for next year. Unfortunately we are unable to offer refunds. We would, however, like to invite you to use the complimentary tickets we sent out with your booking information. These tickets will be valid until the end of October but are not valid on event days, so please double check on the website before you visit. Your tickets will admit 2 adults and up to 3 children. If you plan to come as a group/club please call us to arrange beforehand - that way we can be sure we are able to accommodate you.

We hope you will be able to join us for Father’s Day next year.

The Harewood Events team will focus their efforts in ensuring that the 2013 Father’s Day Classic Car Rally is better than ever.

  7. Hello all.

Some bad news. I received the email below yesterday - Harewood have had to cancel the show altogether. This is very disappointing especially as this was the biggest attendance from 350z-UK so far but the tickets we have are still valid for entry to Harewood (I believe the grounds and below stairs only not the house)and represent a considerable saving on the normal gate price plus and on top of that the club will still have the booking carried over to next year. So unless they hike the prices up between now and then this means you should all still get an entry next year.

Also as you may have seen I am stepping down as area rep. Obviously as the Zed has gone now im winding down my involvement but I will hang around for a transition to whoever takes on the new role.

I will send out a PM to all those who have not yet let me have their address. Please can you let me know where you want your ticket sent.

Well with the Zed gone and Such its time I hung up my area rep coat. Obviously Ill hang around a bit whilst we look for a suitable replacement area rep so if you think you fancy a go post up or drop me a PM for more info.

Its not as hard as you think Squires is pretty much self-organising and although there is a bit of a mess with Harewood Ill hang around to help ensure thats all transferred over.
