Cheers kris, I thought they weren't.
Can always hear stones 'pinging' off the bottom. A deent bodyshop should be able to do this for me.

On the subject of undersealing, do the import zeds get undersealed before leaving the factory? I know alot of JDM cars don't.
Would be nice to know so I can get mine done before the winter sets in.

Got to the meet and it was raining on and off, not a great turn out but ended up going to the pub with a load of SXOC members. So not all bad in the end!
-
rain seems to have eased off. Roads are dry enough now aswell.
I'll be attending this one I reckon.

It's predicting rain tonight, if its raining then i wont be along
It only seems to be spitting at the moment, if the roads are dry enough I'll go, but otherwise I'll leave it.

K2 may give you a raspy note cause of the gauge of the pipe used.
Yep, best to have a listen in person. I ment to take a video on the rolling road day to get an idea of different zorsts as there were a few different ones, but I forgot!
Yep a nice excuse to get to a few meets!
Come to the reading jap meet tommorow at madejski, we will be there, and i have HFC's.
Cheers, will be good to actually hear it in person.

Don't forget that once you do the A-Pillars, you'll have to do the rear hatch aswell.
Thats what I thought. Maybe just te roof and lower grill then...
And again, come to the reading meet and have a look, i have a black painted roof
I'll definitely be there, Doesn't seem to be that many going judging by the thread though...

I was thinking roof and pillars in black. Then a light smoke on the rear windows. Opinions?
Nurrish do you have any pics of different angles?
-
complete a pillars
Got any pics?
-
hold on a second!!!!! I have the A pillars in black wanting a new home too!!!!!!! Well one has the screw holes missing but they should still do the job
Complete pillars? Or covers?
-
I know theres a few members who have had their roof wrapped in gloss black, but I was wondering if anybody has also had the pillars done aswell like the audi TT style. I think it would look good but would like to see an example! I have a gunmetal Zed. (not sure of the official name of the colour).
Just in case any of you don't understand what I mean...

Been a while since the last post in this thread but...
With regards to the rear badges, is it only the middle badge that is held in by pins or is the fairlady/350Z badge held in by pins aswell?
Just the middle mate.
The 350z / fairlady badge comes off nice and easily.
Thanks alot

Could do with hearing the systems in person really. Might have to be the K2 just for ease...
*EDIT*
Just as anoter comparison, I think this is decat though...

Manifolds and HiFlows make little difference to the noise... Manifolds make a deeper note....
One cheaper way to sort it is get a differnt ypipe and loose the mid baffle....
You dont say where you are, whick would help in people letting you know about polish / chroming!
Seen a few videos on youtube that show differences in noise when HFCs are installed by themselves? I don't really want to remove the mid baffle as it just sounds raspy and tinny imo. Sorry, I'm in the reading area and sometimes in staffordshire.

Next month I will be purchasing a new exhaust for my recently acquired Zed. But I need some opinions as at the moment i'm torn...
I like the looks of the K2 as it looks like a polished vesion of oem and would go great with a bumper tuck, it seems to sound nice on videos i've seen aswell, so thats one choice. But I also love the sound of High flow cats and manifolds on the standard cat back as it sounds like a louder version of the stock sound and really brings out the 'hollow' like V6 sound. BUT this would mean I would still have the oem back box which wouldn't give the looks I want.
So what I'm asking is the opinions of the noise of these two exhaust choices and if anybody knows any good places to get the rear box chromed/polished?
Thanks!
-
If i'm going to get it chromed I may aswell just go to the trouble of gettin the K2.
Mind you, how much is chroming?
Probably just wait until next month and get the K2. Its got the oem look and is supposed to sound nice. Going only by youtube videos and opinions!
-
Agree about the canards, I'd take them off. Also personally I'd have black mesh rather than the silver, but the black and white theme looks brilliant. Bumper tuck at the back aswell?
-
Not long had my Zed and the exhaust is standard, I plan on ordering a K2 exhaust in the future and combining with a bumper tuck. Won't be ordering it yet and was wondering if anybody had managed to get the oem rear exhaust can (not tips) up to a respectable shine. I know a drill with a pad and autosol/megs NXT with elbow grease will get all the crap off but I'm not quite sure what kind of finish I can get it up to. My tips are like mirrors and the same finish would be nice on the rear can. Any suggestions?
-
Just used Megs NXT polish on my tips and has brought them up nice, this is the stuff I've used on all my cars but just wondering if the actual oem exhaust backbox itself will come up like the tips? Autosol and fine wire wool should work then? I reckon it would really look nice with a bumper tuck until I get the K2.
